I don't think for one second Artest was afraid of Wallace. Look at the two of them. Artest has a temper. The Indiana coaches hate that and don't tolerate it. He has since been coached to back off, which is what he did. He kept his cool through the shoving incident; kept it through the trash talking and towel throwing that followed. He lost it when a drunk threw a beer on him. That is a huge improvement for Artest. It doesn't have anything to do with money. You think the fans don't know this about Artest?
To: Smogger
I admit it I cheered when Artest punched his lights out. I have to admit I also did. Basketball is kind of a boring game to watch most of the time.

Ignorant of the law? I don't know where you live, but around here it's ASSAULT to throw anything at anyone. And I believe the chief of police in MI has said as much also.
To: jennyjenny
The person that Artest went after in the stands was interviewed and said that Artest did not hit him. He said he grabbed him and asked him if he was the one that threw the beer. That's exactly what's on the tape. Artest does not throw a single punch at the fan he grabbed. The guy that ACTUALLY threw the beer who was wearing a WALLACE JERSERY grabs Artest from behind and start to sucker punch him in the back of the head.

That was because of Artest actions attacking fans. Well gee whiz. I guess the that justifies all the bottle, chair, and ice hurling I saw and the punches I saw thrown by fans. It was all self defense.
And here I thought they were just being sore losers after their team got their asses handed to them on nationaly TV.

That is a huge improvement for Artest. OK

He lost it when a drunk threw a beer on him. That is a huge improvement for Artest. It doesn't have anything to do with money It was an empty cup, not a beer. Artest should've had the presence of mind not to destroy his multi-million dollar career over a lousy tossed empty cup. .....even if it were filled. But it appears he's just as stupid as those on this thread who would justify his behavior.

That is a huge improvement for Artest. What did he come down from to this... carjackings?

Smogger...lol....you should be on retainer for the NBA.
Kobe owes you bigtime.
To: Mr. Mojo
Boy, I watched the tape many many times. If it was empty, what was that coming out it?
To: All
BTW, I have been watching basketball for more than 30 years. Have seen thousands of games. I have seen one...one... player lay on the scorers table. Some of you act like someone lying on the scorers table during the game is normal. It was a statement of I am in control and will do as I wish. It really angered the fans.
Not defending the fans but Artest was way over the top.

(Gentlemen, you can't fight in here this is the war room!)
To: Smogger
You are skewing the sequence of events here. Artest, and others, went into the stands before any of these were thrown.
To: mirkinmuffley
Wallace, Artest, & Jackson suspended indefinitely. Just announced.
To: jennyjenny
There were full cups being tossed at Artest, for sure. But the one that struck him while he was doing his lounging act on the scorer's table wasn't one of them.
And then he had to go after an innocent guy and start a riot.
You say this is a behavior improvement for him? ...lol.
To: mirkinmuffley
Glad I'm not the only one with that opinion.

Wallace Wallace? What about the thug O'Neal?

That's funny. Not really.
My point was that the fans and the players know Artest has a temper. Different people have different thresholds. Artest's used to be lower. They were trying to get a reaction from him of some sort. They were going to keep provoking him until they got one. And finally, turns out they did.
To: jennyjenny
I DO understand what you were trying to say. I just think Mr. Artest has a ways to go as for as interpersonal conduct is concerned.

I was talking about trying to keep his temper under control. How much exactly is he required to take?
To: Types_with_Fist
I say he had crossed the finish line. I said it was an improvement.
