Big time fist throwing. Fans, players and more. Any thoughts ?
I personally agree that Artest most likely crossed the line and lacks any credible self defense argument if charges are brought.
LOL! You know, I'd probably watch that, it would be kind of an amusing channel.
"The police/security are supposed to handle the cup thrower."
You may have noticed,police/security didn't do a bang-up job in Auburn Hills last night.
$40,000,000 fine
Wallace- out for the year
Indiana:
$10,000,000 fine
Artest,Jackson, O'Niell---all out for the year
If the teams can't control their players and fans---punish them. Players-don't go into the stands (Wallace kept this going and stirred up the fans).
The worst thing to happen to sports is espn. Everyone wants their 15 seconds on sportscenter, so they act like a$$holes.
Two questions:
1. Wallace played an integral part in all of this. Someone earlier noted that he was inciting the crowd. Does anyone see anything else happening to him for other than the initial neck move right after the foul?
2. Did you notice that Mr. White Cap (alleged cup thrower) had a Wallace name label on the back of his shirt? hmmmmmm
"No offense to our Detroit Freepers, I hate Detroit, always have."
Now there's a reasoned comment... And how much time have you spent here? How exactly is a Detroiter supposed to not be offended by that comment? I, on the other hand, do not condemn Milwaukee because one jerk lives there.
Couldn't agree more. Their performance was very pathetic as well.
That doesn't give license to Artest to take matters into his own hands though.
Yea Artest was a real tough guy. He gets shove by Ben Wallace and he runs and hides, and then chases after some old man in glasses.
Agree.. Mike Tirico has been PATHETIC defending the players.
With all due respect, I have attended a Tigers game, a Pistons game, and a Lions game, all in Detroit.
Last night was just nationally televised proof of what I've known Detroit sports fans to be like regularly. They are, by and large, every bit as vile/rude as Cleveland Browns fans.
I was watching the game and turned it off right before the brawl and popped in a Dean Martin Variety Show DVD. Did see the espn hand-wringing this morning. This brawl will boost nba ratings.
Are you ready for some football.
Looked like a Steelers-Browns pregame!
Two words: Latrell Sprewell.
Live by the thug, die by the thug.
The old ABA ....... Connie Hawkins
kNOW WHAT IS AMAZING?
this will cost some of these players over a MILLION dollars for getting involved... guys like Oniel make over 100k a game and will surely be out 10games plus.
Oniel should potential be gone for the season-- he jacked that guy in the face for know reason and was under no threat--
That sucker punch by the skinny punk will cost him a millionbucks and that makes me happy--
That's would be an accurate analogy if you had things thrown at you on a regular basis. Every single professional sport has fans that throw things at players. It is part of the territory. Now, if I was a fan, and that jackass came at me, I would beat the tar out of him, as much as I could.
This had been going on for some time and it was obvious security wasn't doing anything to try to control the situation. Look, I am not an Artest fan and for the most part think he is a thug. But he had taken himself out of the situation and the fans decided in inject themselves in to it by throwing beer at him.
Here's three. And they play for the Pistons.
Dude, you just touched on it.
It's come up REPEATEDLY here, people behave as if Stephen Jackson is the norm not the exception.
Because the participants are black and have some tats, they're gangsters and thugs.
I'm sick of the rather overt racism on the part of many on this board. Then we wonder why we can't get more votes from blacks.
I was surprised to hear a while ago on tv a policeman say that only one person went to a hospital.
You would think that about a hundred would have gone,5 to 10 with real injuries, and 90 looking for some future lawsuit loot!
;-)
