Big time fist throwing. Fans, players and more. Any thoughts ?
Artest ultimately had the opportunity to escalate it (as he did) or let it slide. He should shoulder considerable blame.
Thank you. Was beginning to think the thread was turning into ESPN3 or something.
What are you talking about, I'm looking at the tape right here, artest takes the guy down to the floor and goes to throw a punch but is restrained (curiously by the guy who originally threw the cup), followed by jackson who was throwing punches at a variety of people.
"Artest ultimately had the opportunity to escalate it (as he did) or let it slide. He should shoulder considerable blame."
Kloot Sak, drop your fandom for the Pistons a bit. The Detroit fans are mob think barbarians. Did you watch the people? Detroit is a bad bad place full of bad bad people.
Hey, would ANY of this have happened if Artest had decided he didn't need to take a flagrant foul in the final seconds of a game that his team had already won?
All that garbage that later occurred with chairs, bottles (plastic by the way per league rules) etc. was 100% instigated by two players (Artest and Jackson) who acted like thugs and bolted into the stands.
Plenty of great players in all sports have been hit with debris from the stands. We all saw Artest lay on the scorers table and just smile, hoping that Ben Wallace would come over to him......
I'm not a Pistons fan, nor a Pacers fan. I just saw two veteran, but obviously mentally unstable NBA players bolt into the stands. That's what started the whole mess.
If I'm sitting in those stands, and my buddy is having Artest and Jackson come 10 rows up and whup on me, I am not standing around and letting that happen.
Except me
Is this the guy who wanted "more" time off to promote his CD?
"Except me"
So quit apologizing for them
Is this the guy who wanted "more" time off to promote his CD?
Yep and he looks like he just got it.
LOL... show-off...
Politicket...awesome video...can you also post the scene about 2 seconds later where Artest's partner in crime, Stephen Jackson cold cocks another Detroit fan in the stands?
BTW, can a Pistons fan tell me how much those seats in the first ten rows cost? You usually don't have your typical "rowdy, drunk-thug" contingent sitting in those sections.
well, somebody had to pick up where hockey left off...
Ben Wallace didn't have to semi-choke, push Artest and even if that was OK as a built-up reaction, he could have just gone and sat down.
Lots of people played a role in this but you were not correct about "plastic bottles." I saw a bottle fly at the ref's head, he got a nasty welt from it, and that would not likely happen from a plastic bottle.
Sure, the thing that hit Artest was plastic, but not the thing that hit the referee.
Are people no longer responsible for their behavior? Some guy 300 feet from the incident is not responsible for his decision to dump food, beer and other things on players, personnel and security?
Are you really that deluded?
This race stuff is a joke. It was Detroit fans versus Indiana players. See the big guy Detroit fan (employee) putting the smack down on Jones.
As for the moron that ran on the court, will he have a case? I mean he knocked down Artest then O'neal torqued him.
yeah, i think larry parish walked up and cold cocked him from behind.
Oh, wow.......I am so dumb about the NBA I just heard this guy's name yesterday for the first time.......on that ESPN show where the two guys give "gossip/tips?"
I'm going to turn ESPN on again and see if I can see what happened. What's the Cliff Note version so I can tell my husband in the morning?
Yeah those are pricey seats, tehy're pricey here in Seattle. But the fact is the people dousing players, throwing chairs and the like were all from the expensive seats. The guy who threw the beer was, the morons who came ONTO THE FLOOR were from teh expensive seats.
If you'd read my previous posts, I haven't been. I'm just saying the posters on this thread shouldn't apologize for NBA players with no restraint.
It was all the players- Indiana and Detroit both.
BS the fans. It was the freakin players
