I sense a dogpile occuring on Specter......
Dobson shut the hell up... we'll take care of Arlen in our own way.

Does one perform good acts for sake of performing good acts or does one perform them for the sake of entering Heaven? Should one vote for a particular candidate because he is better serves the nation or should one vote for a particular candidate in expectation of a particular agenda?
The vote for chairman is anonymous, so how are they going to retaliate if they don't know which ones voted a certain way?
What does this say about Senator Specter?
FYI..just heard that Robert Bork will be on with Lou Dobbs tonite..6pm est..CN
The single issue voters who think one issue is more important than any other are getting tiresome.
And their threats of blackmail bely their Christianity.
There is only one thing that has ever come out of Arlen Sphincter... OK, two things.
Dobson, who put you in charge?
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Round Two!
Not just by evangelicals, Republicans have to get good judges on the courts.
Specter isn't the key if the cloture rule is changed, but OTOH if it isn't he will be.
If Republicans don't get good judges confirmed they're through. That's just a statement of fact.
After all the tirades and criticism heaped on Specter, I think the Pennsylvania Senator will be reluctant to prevent any well qualified judges from coming up for a vote, regardless if they are pro-Life or not.
I truly believe he gets the message, and knows that the GOP would make his life miserable if he goes against his word NOT to block any pro-Life candidates.
Besides, the last thing the Republican Party should do is drive away the moderates like Specter, without whom we will not be able to win elections.
The best way to win over Pro-Life supporters is to change their hearts.
Regardless of how passionate anyone feels about abortion, it will do no good for the GOP to destroy it's own, and thereby reduce itself to minority status.
Like someone said, the last thing we need is to see Sen. Specter giving the keynote speech for the Democrats on the 3rd night of the 2008 political conventions, wherever they will be held.
I have emailed, faxed, telephoned, and written to each of these Republican senators (do you really think it will do any good to contact the Dems?) and expressed my strong disagreement with Senator Specter and that I respectfully was asking that he NOT be placed as the chairman of the Judiciary Committee. I don't know what else to do.

Its not a sure thing to me that the Bush administration will even put up pro-life judges in the first place. The BS time is done for overturning Roe V Wade, now thank God, its time to STOP IT DEAD!
If the Bush administration and Alren Spector block this from happening, there will be a huge firestorm of condemnation from the religious right. It will burn the Republican party down to the ground!
It ain't gonna cut it to say, gee we tried but good ole baby-killin Arlen blocked our pro-life judges!
DO THE RIGHT THING and stop the MURDER OF THE INNOCENTS!
They have been betrayed and disappointed over and over again. If the party can't get it right this time, with the nomination of Conservative Supreme Court Judges who are willing to overturn Roe vs. Wade, for instance, many of those same conservatives will lose faith in the party. They will begin to see it as a waste of time and effort, and will stop bothering to donate and work for candidates who deliver empty promises.
Such a reaction is something Party leaders would be wise to consider before responding to the demands of their constituency.
This Spectre needs to be BORKED.
