I think that the reason men run from the police is that when the police catch them they throw them in prison and let them get raped. This happens all the time. I know some cops and they laugh about it. They use the threat of rape to keep people in line.
If you don't break the law, what have you to fear?
Don't drink and drive, don't do anything that would get you put in the lockup.
Period.
End of story.
You're too funny! See post #155
Usually they get put in jail --- if your friend just had a sip of alcohol and did nothing more than that, he would not have ended up in prison --- maybe jail until the trial for being a minor in possession and in jail he would have met up with a shoplifter, a bad check writer but not much else.
Hey - ever thought of maybe that by OBEYING the law in the first place your football player would still be alive?? Thank goodness he didn't take any innocent lives with him when he went. There are consequences to the choices we make. SOme more evident than others. The responsibility is firmly on the shoulders of the criminal. Yes - he committed a crime.
That's lame. By running he only insured that he was going to jail had he not killed himself.
Had he not run, prison would be very, very unlikely (unless he had already committed some other serious crime).
If he was drunk or stoned then jail was in his immediate future. And the chances of being "raped" in his overnight (or few day) stay were extremely remote.
I can't think of any man I know that would think "I better run so I don't get raped in jail...".
