ELIZABETH EDWARDS ACCUSES LYNNE CHENEY OF "SHAME" OF HER DAUGHTER

ELIZABETH EDWARDS ACCUSES LYNNE CHENEY OF "SHAME" OF HER DAUGHTER, QUESTIONS HER CRITICISM OF KERRY'S MARY CHENEY REFERENCE

ELIZABETH EDWARDS ON ABC RADIO: "She's overreacted to this and treated it as if it's shameful to have this discussion. I think that's a very sad state of affairs… I think that it indicates a certain degree of shame with respect to her daughter's sexual preferences… It makes me really sad that that's Lynne's response."

LYNNE CHENEY AT POST-DEBATE RALLY: "The only thing I could conclude is that this is not a good man. This is not a good man. And, of course, I'm speaking as a mom. And a pretty indignant one. This is not a good man. What a cheap and tawdry political trick."

DICK CHENEY TO NBC AFFILIATE WHO: "I would have said Sen. Kerry was out of line to bring my daughter into it. I thought it was totally inappropriate."

WHAT KERRY SAID: "And I think if you were to talk to Dick Cheney's daughter, who is a lesbian, she would tell you that she's being who she was, she's being who she was born as."

KERRY CAMPAIGN: Senior Kerry aide acknowledges "it was not his best moment," but calls charges that it was inappropriate "ridiculous… The woman is in her thirties. She's public about her sexuality. It was brought up in the last debate. So, what the hell?" ABC News' Marc Ambinder reports…

I'm so glad the VP took the high road during the debate with Edwards when Edwards said this about Cheney's daughter.

I think that he knew if he said too much, he'd lose his temper and punch Edwards in his little beach boy nose. So instead, he acted with dignity and just said "thank you for the kind words."

Edwards/Kerry are proof positive that $$ doesn't buy everything. Class for instance. Money doesn't buy class.

First Kerry tells us all about Cheney's daughter's gay feelings from birth. Now E. Edwards tells us all about Lynne Cheney's shame. What's next, Theresa telling us Cheney is secretly gay but won't admit it to himself?

The Kerry/Edwards crowd are rude, presumptuous, and arrogant.

I wish more people knew Elizabeth Edwards is a lawyer.

Elizabeth Edwards' intellect was termed 'a weapon of mass destruction' by a former courtroom rival.

Hey, I'm makin' fun of John F'n Kerry, who is the candidate. Y'all are makin' fun of Edwards' wife. Surely you can see the difference.

After all, you might think it was a bit out of bounds if somebody said Barbara Bush (who I think is lovely, BTW) looks like a linebacker in pearls and a blue dress.

Of course, Barbara can take care of herself...

I'm not advocating doing it. In fact, as Istated, they should be justifiably outraged.

My point is that the press would not have tolerated that comment AT ALL from Bush.

Why did the VP thank Edwards for his "kind words"?

Sort of sarcastic, didn't know what to say exactly to such a ploy.

Wives used to restrict themselves to standing on platforms gazing enraptured at their husbands. Those were the days.

Say maybe we could talk about the circumstances of her Son's death,

I have seen more than one reference to circumstances surrounding Wade Edwards death. Can you shed some light on this? I thought he ran off the road on the way to the beach.

Heh, heh, heh. Just went to http://www.dnc.org and used their “contact us” function to send them the message below. If they get enough heat, perhaps they’ll dig themselves a deeper hole with a little self imposed flagellation.

The remark Sen. Kerry made about the Cheney’s daughter being a lesbian is NOT playing well in Philadelphia! Water cooler talk is BAD. I believe Sen. Kerry should engage in immediate damage control and apologize loudly and often. This could be the turning point in the election. Whoever advised Sen. Kerry to use that line should be fired with a lot of fanfare. This is a DefCon 5 situation.

No, I'm not a doctor, I've just been paying them an awful lot lately.....

I'm very sorry to hear of your recent heart attack, and hope you are doing better. Don't despair - things CAN get better - I know from first hand experience!

My tagline is what it is because 8 weeks ago _I_ I had an major but asymptomatic heart attack.

Like you, I had no pain or tingling. I just had shortness of breath and brief nausea, and since I was on my first day of a trip to 9.5 K feet, and just played 3 hours of basketball, I and all my friends thought it was just altitude sickness.

I found out otherwise the next morning when I went to a clinic to get some oxygen, and they took an EKG. My delay in treatment caused major damage to take place.

So, I try to educate others, by my tagline if nothing else. While I feel great now, I don't want anyone repeating my mistake! Maybe we should trade e-mails and trade notes...my doctors are still scratching their heads as to why I had a heart attack...I just turned 37, and had no major risk factors!

Sorry, to hear about your heart attack.

37 years old is way too young, but it does happen. Usually, there is some problem with the heart to begin with and not just high cholesterol, hardening of the arteries, sort of thing. That usually takes 10 or 20 more years.

I am OK. I don't think there was enough damage to worry about. I honestly have my doubts it was a heart attack. They did place a stint in one artery. I have since, had nausea, fatigue, but not blacking out. I also failed to mention I had muscle spasms. Legs ,arms, fingers, you name it. Seemed all my muscles were really stressed out, probably the heart muscle too. I had some Flexeril left over from my back problems I was taking. I never mentioned it to the doctors, but it was making the spasms worse, instead of better. I didn't realize it , until I got out of the hospital. Flexeril is a muscle relaxer. This is what they say anyway.

Keep me up on your progress. You can reply to my FreeRepublic email.
Take care.
