So it seems that Dean has the Dykes and Punks constituencies all wrapped up. Man, based on those groups alone, he could almost beat the Libertarian candidate.

One of my best friends is a lesbian (and a Meg Ryan clone) who also happens to be a moderately-conservative Republican. We happened to be in NYC the day Howie Dean announced his candidacy - and we crashed his coming out party at the MLK Center, which was receiving a live feed of his announcement from his campaign HQ. Anyway, there we were out front on the sidewalk with our homemade signs; hers read "Support Bush. Vote for Dean." and mine read "McGovern, 1972. Dean, 2004" when all the Deanie Babies came out from the announcement all agog over Howie's speech. The media picked us up - my friend gave an interview to some rag and the TV cameras had us in their sites - and a fistfight nearly broke out when some of those dunderheads realized we weren't really supporting their guy. Point: Not ALL dykes are for Dean!
