A NOTE TO MY FELLOW CONSERVATIVES:
Your silence regarding Rush Limbaugh is excruciating.
I like Rush, too, and given that he and I have the same employer, I'm not exactly improving my career prospects by being consistent. It's a bad habit I picked up after years of listening to, and admiring, Rush Limbaugh.
And if we learned the lessons of Limbaugh (individual responsibility and the rule of law), how can we now agree to "Clintonize" ourselves defending him? A drug addiction is one thing, but blackmail? He's allowed himself to be blackmailed for years--the same years he was rightly pounding the stuffing out of the Clintons? And now he claims he's the victim of a politically-motivated prosecution?
What's next: "The b**** set me up?"
Of all the disappointing decisions Rush has made, these last two are the most disheartening. Consider for a moment what blackmail is: An admission that you know what you're doing is wrong.
The decision to fork over the cash is just that--a decision. It can't be any less difficult to make that decision than to decide to, say, go to your lawyer, spill your guts and spend a month in detox at Charter. So why not choose to do the RIGHT thing?
But that's not what Rush chose to do. He chose instead to continue, for years, to do the wrong thing and then--after he was caught--blame the consequences on the vast, left-wing conspiracy. As Rush himself said very wisely and correctly when Jim Carville made the same argument defending President O.J., "It doesn't matter what Ken Starr's politics are if you're innocent."
Bill Clinton wasn't an innocent victim of political vendettas. He was a perjurer and obstructer of justice who blamed others for his own lack of character and its consequences.
Which means, my fellow conservatives, that Rush Limbaugh is....?

Listening to the voices in your head, I see. If hypocrisy and calumny were a crime, you'd be a lifer.
It is so obvious that Rush's persecutors have not any credible evidence of wrong doing but surely must be leaking like a sieve in speculation and innuendo in order to build a trap for Rush to fall into.
FYI ...I have read the Bible, many times over and understand it far better than you ever shall! Neither will I pervert the word of GOD, as you have/do, to shore up an insubstantial argument. And,though my spelling errors/typos are ghastly,tis true, my grammar is always PERFECT! If you only knew grammar, you'd know that to be true, dearie.
You " HOLIER/MORE CONSERVATIVE THAN THOUERS " aren't the arbiters of everything nor anything; yet, you vociferously attack those who you imagine to be your lesser,all the while, condemning them, at every turn, for what you constantly do. That's mental illness ! Unlike you, my " integrity " is in high amounts, I'm not " bigoted "...unlike you, And my " thoughts " are backed by knowledge, not " feelings ", as your's are.
From time immemorial,no matter WHAZT kind of government was in place, there have been laws against immorality; even GOD issued them! Societies,even our own, from colonial times forward, HAVE had all kinds of laws governing personal behaviors. If you knew even the smallest amount of history, you would have know that; but, obviously, facts don't matter at all to you and knowledge and you are not on speaking terms. LOL
You and your pals have turned this into a religious duologue. That's WHY the thread doesn't belong on news/activism.

Please show me just WHERE I " circled the wagons " re Rush. I didn't do so at all and all you're doing is being a smarmy little pettifogger and whinger.

You are a piece of work. This is the most vile and evil statement I can recall you ever making. YOU are not GOD. But you are more than willing to do the coercing, aren't you?
NOWHERE in scripture (and I HAVE read the Bible cover to cover) does God tell MAN to coerce MAN to do good. I challenge you to point out any passage where He says that. So why is it that you COERCERS are so willing to get Government to do GOD'S work and are too damned lazy to do it yourself? To be a WITNESS, that is, for that is what God commanded us to be. NOT TO DO THE COERCING. That is HIS job, not YOURS.
Me ? I was just pointing out FACTS , easily discerned from a careful ( heck, even a not so " careful " ) reading of the BIBLE.
What are the TEN COMMANDMENTS...suggestions ?
What about Jesus' attack on the money changers, in the temple, but force and coercion ?
What were all of those laws, handed out by GOD,in Leviticus and AUTHORITARIANLY used by the rabbis and kings of Israel ?
And the FFs were MORE than willing to use these laws and COMMANDMENTS as the basis for the laws to govern this country.
Instead of having a problem with me, take it up with GOD, as HE is the author; not I. :-)
