  • Trust, don’t verify: How to commit voter fraud in Nevada

Since January 2017, low levels of radioactive Iodine-131 contamination have been detected over various European countries. Highest levels have been detected in Poland. The radioactive particles were first detected in Finland. Source is anyone's guess, but the initial area of detection and area of highest concentration point to Russia. I disagree with the blog's conclusion that this is likely to be a nuclear test since I-131 has a short half-life of 8 days. More likely, there's an ongoing issue with a Russian nuclear reactor. (Doesn't have to be a power station - could be a sub or other naval reactor.)

An ...analysis of roughly 13,500 affidavits submitted in Texas' largest counties found at least 500 instances in which voters were allowed to get around the law by signing an affidavit and never showing a photo ID, despite indicating that they possessed one.... One affidavit from Hidalgo County, along the Texas-Mexico border, read: "Did not want to 'pander' to government requirement." In Tarrant County, an election judge noted on an affidavit: "Had photo ID but refused to show it."

State AG Schneiderman Has Trump in His Legal Crosshairs By Courtney Gross Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 07:38 PM EST With the new president in his legal crosshairs, state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is also busy raising his national profile. NY1's Courtney Gross looks at how Schneiderman is rapidly becoming Donald Trump's biggest New York nemesis. State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has added a new responsibility to his job description: taking on the president. "It is up to us at the state level to show leadership," Schneiderman said. Since Donald Trump took the oath of office, the state attorney general...

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz pushed back against critiques of her tenure as chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, insisting she did not rig the primary contest against Sen. Bernie Sanders and argued she could have if she wanted. "I will be frank with you — if I was trying to rig the outcome of the primary, trust me, I could have," Wasserman Schultz told VICE News' Shawna Thomas. "There are so many things that we — not I — we could have done to enhance the campaign of one candidate over another."

President Trump stirred bipartisan controversy on Wednesday by pledging to launch a “major investigation” into his baseless claim that widespread voter fraud cost him the popular vote in the 2016 presidential election. Trump’s assertion that as many as 3 million illegal ballots were cast has been disputed by news organizations, state attorneys general and academics who study voter fraud claims. Even Trump’s own legal team conceded last year that there was no evidence of widespread fraud in the election, as part of a court challenge against a recount effort in three Midwestern states.  Trump reiterated the charge in a Monday...

At the beginning of Tuesday's White House briefing, spokesman Sean Spicer listed everything Donald Trump has done since he became president five days ago. The long list includes various meetings with business, union and congressional leaders and the signing of executive orders intended to boost the U.S. economy and job market. But for some White House correspondents, the only thing that mattered on Tuesday was not what Trump has accomplished so far, but his offhand remark at a private reception for lawmakers Monday night, where Trump apparently repeated his belief that between three million and five million votes had been...

Donald Trump’s claim that illegal voting may have cost him a popular-vote majority has touched off outrage. Widespread voter fraud, the media consensus suggests, isn’t possible. But there is a real chance that significant numbers of noncitizens and others are indeed voting illegally, perhaps enough to make up the margin in some elections. There’s no way of knowing for sure. The voter-registration process in almost all states runs on the honor system. The Obama administration has done everything it can to keep the status quo in place. The Obama Justice Department has refused to file a single lawsuit to enforce...

For your enjoyment, written in 1955 and depicting the elections of 2008 and 2012 way in the 'future'....... Franchise Linda, age ten, was the only one of the family who seemed to enjoy being awake. Norman Muller could hear her now through his own drugged, unhealthy coma. (He had finally managed to fall asleep an hour earlier but even then it was more like exhaustion than sleep.) She was at his bedside now, shaking him. "Daddy, Daddy, wake up. Wake up!" He suppressed a groan. "All right, Linda." "But, Daddy, there's more policemen around than any time! Police cars and...

The Obama administration on Friday afternoon announced that it has designated the country’s election infrastructure as ‘critical,’ a move that brings added federal protections to voting systems. “Given the vital role elections play in this country, it is clear that certain systems and assets of election infrastructure meet the definition of critical infrastructure, in fact and in law,” Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson said in a statement. The administration has been weighing the move for some time. The announcement coincides with a report from the Intelligence Community detailing its assessment that Russia undertook a widespread influence and cyber campaign...

Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate is asking legislators to quickly approve a bill that would require voters to show some form of identification before casting a ballot. “This bill will make it difficult to cheat the system,” Pate says. The bill Pate seeks would require Iowans to show a driver’s license, a military ID, their passport or a voter ID card issued by his office to be eligible to vote in their precinct on Election Day.

LONDON — The British government announced plans on Tuesday to crack down on voter fraud by requiring voters to show official identification at polling stations, tightening rules on absentee ballots and preventing political activists from handling absentee ballots. While some critics argued that fraud was not widespread and that the plans would hit hardest the opposition Labour Party and the poor, the government minister in charge, Chris Skidmore, said that the new measures would “protect anyone who is at risk of being bullied, undermined or tricked out of their vote, and their democratic right.” The government had commissioned a report...

Politics is a game, in some ways akin to football. A win depends on how many points are on the official scoreboard, not on how many yards have been covered. For a stable society to exist or a game to be successful, certain rules must be followed. They may be simple or complex, few or many, handed down orally or through a complex code, but they underlie a structured order. Adherence to that structure is essential even in politics, which is an ongoing process with no eternal answers. It is natural in politics that conclusions and procedures once generally accepted...

One out of every 266 voters participating in Michigan's Nov. 8, 2016, general election did not have a photo ID, according to the state elections bureau. Of the 4,874,619 votes cast in the state, 18,339 individuals signed the affidavit of identity required of individuals who want to vote without a picture ID. Nearly one-third of those affidavits — 5,834 — were signed in the city of Detroit. Other cities with a high number of affidavits included Grand Rapids (535) and Southfield (463). In the cities of Rochester and Livonia, all voters showed a photo ID.

Donald Trump recently tweeted that he would have won the popular vote if not for the millions of people who voted illegally. He went on to discuss the media’s refusal to cover illegal voting problems in California, New Hampshire, and Virginia. Meanwhile, liberals, led by Jill Stein, are demanding costly recounts in Trump-won states without any indication any voter fraud occurred. Unfortunately for the President-elect, the burden of proof lies with the accuser, not the defendant. While Trump’s claim likely has some merit to it, nationwide evidence of his assertion isn’t likely to surface anytime soon. As they did throughout...

The Michigan House Election Committee chaired by Rep. Lisa Lyons, R-Alto, advanced a last-minute bill Thursday that she says will strengthen ballot security but opponents claim will suppress voting. Lyons introduced the bill just two days earlier to revise the current system for individuals voting without a photo ID. It is unusual for legislators to bring new bills up for consideration with just weeks remaining in the session. Currently, a person who wishes to vote in Michigan without presenting photo identification must sign an affidavit of identity. One out of every 266 Michigan voters signed an affidavit this year. According...

The secretary of state of Georgia is asking the Department of Homeland Security to explain what appears to be an attempted breach of the state’s computer systems that house its voter registration database by someone in the federal government. In a letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson dated Thursday, Georgia’s Secretary of State Brian Kemp said the state had discovered an unsuccessful attempt to breach the firewall of state computer systems. The attempt occurred on Nov. 15 and was linked to an IP address associated with DHS, he said. “At no time has my office agreed to...
