A Message from Tom: We Can Win This Election! Dear Friends, This election is very different in many ways. I think it is the first time in my political life that I honestly believe that the vast majority of voters "get it." The voters know that our state has been driven into the ground by Gray Davis and the truly ultra-liberals in control of the state legislature. The voters also know the only way out is to recall Davis—and replace him with someone who understands how to balance the budget, and who will not falter from balancing the budget....

It strikes me as revealing that California conservatives, regardless of party affiliation, have maneuvered themselves into a position that they must now choose between a cultural separatists running on a socialist platform and a liberal running on his personal fame. The greater irony is that these conservatives are now willing to follow the liberal to hell for fear of the socialist.

When California lawmakers voted in 1999 to approve legislation giving state employees more generous retirement benefits and opening the door to a round of big increases in local government pensions, only a handful of legislators opposed the bill. One of them was then-Assemblyman Tom McClintock.

Back to top What is your position on undocumented immigrants? I came to California 35 years ago because I saw this state as the best place on earth to fulfill my dreams. Immigrants contribute to the richness of life in California, and I embrace them. Border enforcement is a federal responsibility. However, state taxpayers currently bear the costs of providing public services to undocumented immigrants, such as incarcerating undocumented immigrants in the state prison system. I will work with other border states, the President, and the U.S. Congress to increase federal reimbursements for these costs. Proposition 187 has been resolved...

Schwarzenegger Wrong for Gun Owners, Wrong for CaliforniaBy David Codreacodrea4@adelphia.netAugust 28, 2003“Where else do gun owners have to go?”—Former Republican Party National Chairman Lee AtwaterKeepAndBearArms.com -- In their zeal to rid California of the catastrophic Gray Davis and to prevent the equally loathsome Cruz Bustamante from assuming the governorship, the Golden State’s “centrist” Republican establishment has cast its lot with Arnold Schwarzenegger. On the surface, their reasoning is obvious. Famous, rich, successful, admired by millions, the superstar actor had but to cast his hat into the ring to command international attention and a multitude of star-struck followers—without ever defining where...

McClintock for governor Posted: August 29, 2003 1:00 a.m. Eastern © 2003 WorldNetDaily.com SACRAMENTO, Calif. – I rarely endorse politicians for office. As editor of WorldNetDaily, I have never endorsed a presidential candidate. I don't routinely get involved in these races mainly because I think they are overrated in terms of actually changing the nation's direction. But when a choice arises that is so stark in contrast, it's difficult to be silent. In fact, I think it's wrong to be silent. That is the case with the California recall of Gov. Gray Davis. Surely Davis has to go. Practically everyone...

Clintonism Saves Schwarzenegger You won't believe what Arnold told Oui magazine in 1977. What's more unbelievable? Please post local, regional, national news and views on Tom McClintock. The following guidelines for posting are per DoughtyOne's most excellent suggestion yesterday. McClintock Camp - Supporters or Defenders I would like to ask you all to please post positive articles about your man's policies and leave the Schwarzenegger bashing to the Democrats. Schwarzenegger Camp - Supporters or Defenders The call for McClintock to withdraw right now, or the tactic of calling him and his followers names for not doing so, is not productive and isn't good for the party. IN OTHER WORDS, SAVE THE RINO ARNIE/UNELECTABLE TOM RANTS FOR...

Who is responsible for California's $38 billion budget shortfall, and does the state really need to raise taxes to keep from drowning in red ink? Unfortunately, the "Saga in Sacramento" is just a low-budget version of the Washington extravaganza. The plot is so similar that Washington's big-time deficit producers would have a good case for plagiarism if they wanted to sue their low-budget California counterparts. Sadly, the mistakes made in Sacramento were repeated in most state capitals. During the latter part of the 1990s, the "irrational exuberance" in the stock market produced an unexpected windfall of revenues. During that decade,...
