Follow The Liberal

It strikes me as revealing that California conservatives, regardless of party affiliation, have maneuvered themselves into a position that they must now choose between a cultural separatists running on a socialist platform and a liberal running on his personal fame.

The greater irony is that these conservatives are now willing to follow the liberal to hell for fear of the socialist.

And if anyone wonders what Reagan would have done
we have the answer.

He supported the candidacy of Mr. "Can't Win" Goldwalter
over other far more electable Republicans who
were not conservative in 1964.

I hope I'll never have to choose but I'll take a mild liberal over a full blown socialist any day. Compared to the socialists running against him, Arnold looks downright conservative.

I was first eligible to vote in 1984; since then, in six presidential elections and ten Congressional elections - with precious few exceptions - that's what the choice among the "mainstream" candidates boiled down to. Frankly, I'm getting tired of supporting one candidate just because the other is worse. I came to realize there is no measurable difference between the Reps and Dems. A pox on both their houses.

...Or at least to a hell like state. It is so sad, isn't it?
