We have hope in 51 st District, Southern part of San Diego/Chula Vista BORDER AREA etc. Nick Popaditch (R) Marine Veteran is running against incumbent Bob Filner (D). Popaditch is the famous cigar smoking tank commander shown at the tear down of the Statue of Saddam Hussein in Iraq. Filner refuses to hold Town Halls and debate Popaditch. Filner is one of the most liberal reps in the House. Grassroots are working hard for Popaditch. People of all parties are marching in front of Filner's Chula Vista Office every Thursday afternoon until he debates Nick... Everyone welcome, let's shame Filner...

I had the opportunity to meet my congressman, Rep. Heath Shuler, D-N. C., at the Industrial Opportunities, Inc. (IOI) luncheon for military veterans on 8-26-10. I asked him several questions, including about his voting record. I asked why, in his four years in office, he has never had a face to face Town Hall meeting with his constituents. I previously tried to get an appointment to see him and called in to his two telephone Townhall meetings last summer, but I guess his call screeners did not like my questions. My question appeared to upset him and he replied that...

After a closed-door, pre-event meeting between Rep Melissa Bean (D) IL-8 and staff of the Round Lake Area Public Library, a man alleged to be the hulking head of library security repeatedly took an intimidating stance, standing over questioners who raised controversial issues. Other library management attempted to dissuade an attendee from video taping what was purportedly a public townhall event. Rather than stop the intimidation, Bean appeared rather pleased with it based upon her smiling acknowledgment. Rep. Melissa Bean has a troubling history involving townhalls. She's also one of a few Democrats uninterested in disbursing Charlie Rangel cash to...

Rep. Melissa Bean (D-IL) brought Bruno the Bone-Crusher with her to a town hall meeting this weekend to threaten constituents. The meeting was held at Round Lake, Illinois Public library on Thursday August 12. The Obamacare-supporting democrat allowed the thug to roam around the room to intimidate constituents from asking questions. Where’d she get this guy, from the WWE?

WASHINGTON -- If you were hoping for a repeat of those town hall meetings last summer where Democrats were confronted by angry voters who opposed President Obama's health care bill, well, forget it. They're cancelled.

Democrats passed government-run Obamacare, despite strong grassroots opposition in their states and districts, and now these so-called "public servants" are unwilling to go through the democratic ritual of having to listen to what dissatisfied voters think of them now.

Remember those hoary days of yesteryear, those days when Democrats puffed themselves up as "the party of the people," of that "party of the common man"? Flash forward to 2010 and we find that those stalwart homespun congressmen, born of the people have set a policy to avoid those "people," the voters, at all costs. This summer break instead of coming home to visit with constituents and hearing them out at traditional townhall meetings that are usually held by members of Congress returning home, today's Democrats are skulking into town quietly and once home refusing to hold such meetings where...

BEL AIR, Md. — The reception that Representative Frank Kratovil Jr., a Democrat, received here one night last week as he faced a small group of constituents was far more pleasant than his encounters during a Congressional recess last summer. Then, he was hanged in effigy by protesters. This time, a round of applause was followed by a glass of chilled wine, a plate of crackers and crudités as he mingled with an invitation-only audience at the Point Breeze Credit Union, a vastly different scene than last year’s wide-open televised free-for-alls. The sentiment that fueled the rage during those...

PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona Sen. John McCain is holding town hall meetings in the West Valley this weekend. The first town hall will be at the Goodyear Justice Center at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The second will be at Sun City West at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Arizona Sen. John McCain's town hall in Tucson Saturday was all about immigration. McCain had sounded a note of support for Arizona's tough new immigration, calling it a “good tool” for law enforcement. But he stopped short of fully endorsing the measure. “I haven’t had a chance to look at all the aspects, but I do understand why the Legislature would act,” he said. Even though it wasn’t clear to him “whether all of it is legal or not,” he said state lawmakers “acted out of frustration because the federal government didn’t do its job.” He spoke of his 10-point...

The political commentariat doesn't know what to make of those thousands of Americans who've spontaneously thronged to tea parties and town-hall meetings to oppose the big-government programs of the Obama administration and Democratic Congress. Some on the left attack them as fascists or racists, though evidence of that is sorely lacking. David Brooks in The New York Times compared them to the New Left campus radicals of the '70s, which comes closer but doesn't quite ring true. I think the tea partiers bear an uncanny resemblance to the antiwar activists in the Vietnam War period. Like the tea partiers, the...

"I have seen more of President Obama than I have of my wife," said the caller from Atlanta. "And I'm a newlywed." Funny. And true. And sad. Stung by his defeat in Massachusetts after a personal appearance on behalf of Martha Coakley and a long speech telling Massachusetts voters why they had to send her to Washington, President Obama seems intent on punishing the entire nation with speech after speech after speech. We are to be cajoled into submission. It isn’t working. “He talks and talks,” Mark Steyn said on my show Thursday. “And the more his rhetoric is detached...

Tea Party activists are trying to take over the Republican Party from the ground up, according to the New York Times. There are many pieces to the Tea Party puzzle, described as a “diverse, rambunctious and Internet-connected network of groups”. This includes Tea Party Nation which describes itself as a “user-driven group of like-minded people who desire our God-given Individual Freedoms which were written out by the Founding Fathers, [who] believe in Limited Government, Free Speech, the 2nd Amendment, our Military, Secure Borders and our Country.” Our Country Deserves Better is a political action committee that “is leading the fight to...

Sen. Russ Feingold deserves credit for showing up Monday before a room in Pewaukee packed with hundreds of . . .  well, Obamacare skeptics (and, by actual count, maybe a dozen fans). The senator took it like a man as sweet, grandmotherly ladies in decorated sweatshirts booed lustily. With gestures. Feingold anticipated such heat and, admirably, showed up anyhow. "I expect there to be some opposition," he said beforehand, "given the fact that Waukesha County might be a place where there is more people that would oppose it than be for it." Yes, though it's not the result of geography. Feingold, who favors...
