The Social Security Administration has released its annual list and jumping 2,368 spots to 901 is Kylo, the character played by Adam Driver. It ended at 3,269 in 2015. This comes as no surprise to BabynameWizard.com founder Laura Wattenberg who, the Associated Press reports, states that the names of villains are these days more likely to inspire parents than on-screen heroes. The category’s popular culture-inspired runners up include Creed, Adonis (from Rocky sequel Creed) and Zayn, presumably after former One Direction singer Zayn Malik who is now enjoying a solo career in his own right.

Last summer, Dave Filoni announced that he would be bringing a long-standing fan-favorite character to Star Wars Rebels: Grand Admiral Thrawn. In a classic, “wait, there’s more!” moment, he followed up by saying that the character would also get a novel, written by none other than Timothy Zahn, who created the character in 1991’s Heir to the Empire. It’s hard to overstate how exciting this is to long-time Star Wars fans. In the previous Star Wars expanded universe, Thrawn was a different sort of villain for the franchise. Where Emperor Palpatine was evil incarnate, and Darth Vader embodied raw power,...

Star Wars actor Riz Ahmed gave some advice on how to fight the terror group ISIS. During a Thursday speech to Channel 4's annual diversity lecture in Parliament, Ahmed urged television producers to embrace diversity and have more Muslim representation, or young people will feel alienated and will be more vulnerable to joining extremist groups. "If we fail to represent, we are in danger of losing people to extremism," Ahmed said. "In the mind of the Isis recruit, he’s the next James Bond right? Have you seen some of those Isis propaganda videos, they are cut like action movies," he...

Harrison Ford's taxiway landing last Monday was caught on video, and it promises to be the centerpiece of the FAA investigation. The video was captured by cameras trained on the runways at John Wayne Airport in Orange County. It shows Ford's approach which came dangerously close to an American Airlines 737, which was on the taxiway when the actor's plane passed overhead. A man in the terminal who took a picture of the landing told us Ford had misjudged the runway and banked sharply before landing on the taxiway, but that is not reflected in this video.

Harrison Ford didn't sound like a seasoned pilot of more than 20 years when he stammered through radio calls to the tower ... minutes before his screwed up landing on a taxiway. TMZ has obtained audio of Harrison's convo with air traffic control as he took off from Santa Monica Airport at 11:49 AM on Feb. 13, and he sounds confused. The SMO tower sends him off with his tail number -- "Husky Niner Hotel Uniform" -- and gives him a personal code (squawk) of 0214 ... his identifying code for air traffic control. All good up to that point....

This is a photo of Harrison Ford landing on the taxiway Monday at John Wayne Airport ... and the person who took the pic says the actor was totally out of position seconds before he touched down. The man who shot the photo had just arrived on a commercial flight and was looking out the terminal window waiting for a friend, when he saw Ford's plane coming in for a landing. He tells TMZ Ford had "completely misjudged the runway" and was not in position to land. The man grabbed his phone to snap a pic, thinking the pilot might...

Kirsty Wark said on the BBC show[Newsnight]: "With what might be regarded as unseemly haste, Disney is negotiating with the actor’s estate over her continued appearance in the franchise. If Disney gets the go-ahead, Carrie Fisher will join Peter Cushing, who, last month, 15 years after his death, played a key role in Rogue One as Grand Moff Tarkin." There was no more detail on what exactly Disney is negotiating with the estate: the studio may want to continue using Fisher's likeness on merchandise, or, as with Cushing, want to bring Leia back for Star Wars: Espiode IX, which is...

In a wide-ranging interview with the New York Times’ Maureen Dowd on Wednesday, billionaire tech giant Peter Thiel defended his support of President-Elect Donald Trump and offered some characteristically esoteric opinions on everything from Meryl Streep to “Star Wars.” To a question noting that “President Obama had eight years without any ethical shadiness,” Thiel replied, “But there’s a point where no corruption can be a bad thing. It can mean that things are too boring.”
