Graduates from Princetons 2012 class will not be able to attend a Star Wars-themed party in Stormtrooper gear due to fears that it will convey a racist message. A rules committee organizing a five-year class reunion party in early June around the fictional Star Wars universe was contacted about characters allegedly inspired by World War II-era events. Subsequently, Stormtroopers will not be allowed.

Idiots. The term "Stormtrooper" came from World War I. Stormtroopers were highly trained in infiltration tactics to identify weak points in the enemy's defensive systems and neutralize them getting into the enemy's tactical rear taking out HQ and artillery units.

Star Wars stormtroopers are somehow racist?
Last time I checked, Star Wars episode 7 featured “Finn”, a black stormtrooper.

The original clone Stormtrooper was played by a Maori.

Maybe, but a lot of the original Star Wars stuff was WW2-inspired — from Spitfire-esque X-wings, P-38-like Y-wings and very Bf109-inspired Ties to Stormtroopers, SSith, and the, let’s say, homogeneity of the Imperial presence generally (in a galaxy filled with a vast array of species).
That said, this particular ‘rule’ is very lib-virtue-signaling and counter-productive. Nobody is going to think that because the class jock showed up in white plastic (or black Darth style) that they’re about to invade Poland. A more practical rule might be ‘no helmets — we are looking forward to seeing you again after all these years.’

But they’re wearing white, you see. That’s racist unless Democrats do it.

They could always dress up like "Bronies". Probably have the outfits already.

Maybe, but a lot of the original Star Wars stuff was WW2-inspired Blaster rifles were German MG-34 machine guns and blaster pistols were Broom-handle Mauser pistols.
