Son makes my night! After taking my dog for walk I returned home to find my 24 year old son watching the Lions play the Giants. He proceeds to tell me about an outrageous and obnoxious Commercial for the Gap. "It was a black guy and an over the top transgender dude in a fake dark wig singing." He looks the commercial up on YouTube and plays it for me. The video labeled "Bridging the GAP" begins and the "Tranny" my son is disgusted by is CHER!! He sincerely has no idea who she is or was. What a great...

It appears the summer hiking season may be over for another year, as many Swiss alpine resorts saw fresh snow over the weekend. A cold front saw temperatures fall last week and over the weekend, with many places in the lowlands experiencing ground frost. With the snow level dropping to 1,500m and heavy precipitation in many parts, on Monday many alpine resorts woke up to fresh snow on the ground. “Winter is coming, how to resist?” tweeted Verbier, its webcam pictures looking distinctly wintry. Laax, St. Moritz, the Jungfrau region and Crans-Montana were among the other resorts whose webcams showed...

A dark cloud hovers over the professional wrestling world today, as one of the most beloved characters in history has checked out way too soon. But the memories of Bobby "The Brain" Heenan still live on, proving that even the darkest clouds have silver linings. Commentator Jim Ross broke the news on his Twitter account today. "Nobody ever did it better than the Weasel," wrote Ross.

The Cleveland Indians have won 24 of the last 25 games that they have played in MLB baseball. That is pretty impressive. But everybody apparently stopped paying attention after the 22 game streak was broken. I'm more impressed with consistency and not as impressed with streaks. Everybody can go on a streak. But consistency is what you really want. I used to not pay so much attention to the Cleveland teams. Mistake by the Lake and all that. From 1946 to 1955, the Cleveland Browns football club did very well under Coach Paul Brown. But that was long time ago....

According to ESPN, Jones has thrust himself into the league’s compensation committee and is holding up talks with Goodell’s new deal. Goodell’s current contract is set to expire in 2019; his new one originally was going to make him the face of the NFL until at least 2024. The report states that Goodell’s long-term future could be in jeopardy as he faces backlash from Jones — only his latest in-house combatant — following his four-game suspension of Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott for violating the league’s domestic violence protocol. Jones has stated repeatedly that Elliott did nothing wrong, and the...

Say this for Texas and USC: They know how to draw up memorable games. Nearly 12 years after the 2006 Rose Bowl for the BCS national championship, the Longhorns and Trojans played in another thriller, even if the stakes were lower. USC got the 27-24 double-overtime win, but not without causing a few heart conditions throughout the great Los Angeles area.

What now? That’s the question Danica Patrick faces now that she knows for certain she will not return to Stewart-Haas Racing in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series next season. And considering that she barely scrapped enough funding together to keep the No. 10 afloat this season, it means her options are limited if she wants to remain in a competitive seat. So what are her options? From the outside looking in, it’s hard to see how Patrick remains in the Cup Series with a competitive ride, and she has continually discounted options in other divisions. But for the sake...

President Donald Trump’s Twitter attack on ESPN on Friday morning hit the sports network in a particularly sensitive area — its declining subscriber numbers, which Trump claimed was because of its too-liberal politics. Over the past several years, ESPN has faced a steady decline in subscribers, dropping from more than 100 million in 2011 to around 87 million today. The company has also undergone very public job reductions, cutting dozens of well-known faces in April. But does politics have anything to do with it? According to analysts, no. But getting dragged into a political fight does present a challenge for...

The Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday called out Black Lives Matter activist Shaun King for an inaccurate tweet that went viral. King got more than 8,000 retweets for claiming that Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said he would never hire former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick for kneeling during the national anthem. The owner of the Eagles said he wouldn't hire Colin because of his anthem protest, but hired a white player who called black people "nigger" — Shaun King (@ShaunKing) September 14, 2017 Sportswriters on the Eagles beat immediately pointed out that King was mischaracterizing Lurie's comments, but their complaints fell...

CLEVELAND (AP) -- The Cleveland Indians added a walk-off win to a streak that has had everything. Jay Bruce hit an RBI double in the 10th inning as the Indians rallied for their 22nd straight win to extend their AL record, beating the Kansas City Royals 3-2 on Thursday night to move within four wins of matching the 1916 New York Giants for the longest streak in major league history. After blowouts, shutouts and oh-so-easy wins, the Indians went into extras for the first time to keep the longest streak in 101 years intact. Ramirez led off the 10th with...

The former Panthers and Ravens wide receiver is not yet eligibleThe Pro Football Hall of Fame released a list of 108 modern-era nominees for the 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame class on Tuesday night, with many of the usual suspects highlighting the list for the first time, including former Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis and former Patriots and Vikings wide receiver Randy Moss. Also joining them was former NFL receiver Steve Smith. One problem: it's not the former receiver for the Panthers and Ravens turned NFL Network analyst Steve Smith, who is the Steve Smith you would expect to see...
