Police in Missouri are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects after a video emerged purportedly showing one of them striking a Walgreens employee outside of a store. The Independence Police Department says the assault unfolded last Wednesday in the 3900 Block of South Noland Road. “An employee of the business was assaulted when they attempted to intervene in a shoplift,” the department said in a statement. Video broadcast by Fox4 KC appears to show an employee getting knocked to the ground while engaging in a struggle with a female suspect outside the front of the store.

A security guard for a CVS store in Manhattan is facing murder charges for allegedly stabbing a serial shoplifter to death on Thursday, according to police. The incident occurred just after midnight at the chain’s Times Square location on Broadway and 49th Street, NBC New York reported. The security guard, Scott Enoe, reportedly tried to stop the man from stealing from the store. The men then fought, and Enoe allegedly ended up stabbing the man, according to police.

An employee at a Family Dollar store in Texas opened fire on a would-be shoplifter, striking him multiple times and killing him, cops said Tuesday. A homeless man is charged with burglary for trying to steal a massive flat-screen television from the downtown Seattle Target. ANTIOCH, Calif. — A customer suspected of stealing meat from a supermarket butcher Wednesday died following a fight with a store employee, police said. A 56-year-old employee caught a 34-year-old customer behind the butcher area at the Lucky Supermarket around 10 p.m., KTVU reported. The customer then attacked the employee. The Oct. 3 shooting was captured on store surveillance and showed Lakeland City Commissioner Michael Dunn firing at Christobal Lopez, 50, at the front door of Dunn's Vets Army & Navy Surplus. Dunn could be seen grabbing Lopez, an agricultural laborer, as he tried to leave, then firing a semiautomatic Glock at him.
