She was ordered to turn herself in by Monday on charges of first-degree theft by welfare fraud, second-degree perjury and false verification for public assistance. Samantha Bee returned to Full Frontal on Wednesday and issued an angry apology for her controversial remarks regarding White House senior advisor Ivanka Trump, saying, “it is a word I have used on the show many times hoping to reclaim it.” “You know, a lot of people were offended and angry that I used an epithet to describe the President’s daughter and advisor last week. It is a word I have used on the show many times, hoping to reclaim it, this time I used it as an insult. I crossed the line. I regret it and I do apologize...

Keith Olbermann is coming back to ESPN's airwaves. The outspoken sports and politics commentator has been granted an "expanded role" with the Disney-owned sports broadcasting giant, a Friday report from New York Post claims. "Since we started this, my sixth separate tenure with ESPN, in January, I’ve found the variety of assignments to be the most fun and energizing of all my stints,” he said in a statement on his new gig. “Adding stuff, like being a rookie 59-year-old play-by-play guy, plus the Rip Van Winkle of SportsCenter, only adds to the smorgasbord. Can’t wait, and at my age, I...

The official cover for Michelle Obama’s memoir has been released.(snip) In the photo, Obama is smiling with her right hand resting underneath her chin. She wears a simple white T-shirt that’s pulled off of one shoulder and hoop earrings. Her hair is blown out in loose waves and her skin is glowing. According to Obama’s stylist Meredith Koop, she started with the idea of jeans and a T-shirt and wanting to portray her as all-American, relatable, and real. “It’s what Michelle wears as Michelle, not First Lady Michelle Obama. I wanted the modern ease of a tee mixed with the...

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., says in a new documentary of his life that he is thankful for the life he's lived. "The American people don't hold Washington and the people who work there in very high esteem. We need to make sure that we give the American people what they deserve, and right now they're not getting it," McCain said in an interview for "For Whom the Bell Tolls," named for the Ernest Hemingway novel which McCain still lists as his favorite. "I know this is a very vicious disease. I greet every day with gratitude, and I will continue...

On Monday, the NFL announced a new national anthem policy that allows players to stay in the locker room but leaves open the possibility of fines for players who choose not to stand during the anthem. Former Patriots defensive end Chris Long said the new rules reflect the owners’ fear of their bottom line, as well as President Donald Trump, not concerns about patriotism. “Don’t get it confused,” Long wrote on Twitter. “These owners don’t love America more than the players demonstrating and taking real action to improve it.”

Obama’s former spy chief, James Clapper, is on a roll as of late. The ex-Director of National Intelligence has come to the defense of the intelligence community. Last week, it was reported that Stefan Halper, a longtime CIA operative and Cambridge University professor, spied on the Trump campaign, trying to make contacts with George Papadopoulos, Carter Page, and Sam Clovis. Yet, to Clapper, this isn’t spying. It was just a confidential source trying to glean information under false pretenses to see if there was any Russian collusion—and so far, there hasn’t been any evidence to suggest the Kremlin was tipping...

“I applaud the president for taking military action against the Assad regime for its latest use of chemical weapons, and for signaling his resolve to do so again if these heinous attacks continue,” McCain said in a statement. “To succeed in the long run, we need a comprehensive strategy for Syria and the entire region,” he added later. “The president needs to lay out our goals, not just with regard to ISIS, but also the ongoing conflict in Syria and malign Russian and Iranian influence in the region. Airstrikes disconnected from a broader strategy may be necessary, but they alone...

The term “Asian” is used in the United Kingdom to describe people from India, Pakistan, and other South Asian countries. The term is also sometimes used for Middle Easterners. Grooming gang offenders are mostly of Pakistani (Muslim) originThe Quilliam researchers, both of whom are of Pakistani heritage, first began their study into “grooming gangs” to challenge the perception that Muslims with an Asian heritage are overrepresented in the media. They discovered that 222 of the 264 people convicted for grooming gang-related crimes between the years of 2005 and 2017 are “Asian.” Of the total number of offenders, only 18 of...
