New Zealand is full of stunning, natural beauty and home to nearly 3,000 glaciers, which are huge tourist destinations. But the glaciers are quickly vanishing due to rising temperatures. Robin Roberts visited Rotorua on an expedition of a lifetime and shared a first-hand look at the shrinking ice. First, she suited up to hop in a helicopter for a bird's-eye view of the dangerously thin ice, which scientists call a critical part of the climate crisis.

For at least the second time in two months, Democratic nominee Joe Biden used a quote made famous by communist leader Mao Tse-tung when it came to women. Calling it simply an “old expression,” Biden got away with quoting the communist monster (who killed millions of people) because his interviewer, ABC’s Robin Roberts refused to call out, push back, or question her candidate as to why he was doing it. The interview, which was done for Sunday night’s 20/20, was previewed on that morning’s Good Morning America and was touted by co-anchor Eva Pilgrim. “In an exclusive ABC News interview...

Roberts said she was promised she could challenge him on the “red flags” over the alleged racist and homophobic attack and that she’d get new information out of him. “I’m a black gay woman, he’s a black gay man,” she said. “He’s saying that there’s a hate crime, so if I’m too hard, then my LGBT community is going to say, ‘You don’t believe a brother,’ if I’m too light on him, it’s like, ‘Oh, because you are in the community, you’re giving him a pass.'” “It was one of the most challenging interviews I’ve ever had to do,” she...

Good Morning America co-host Robin Roberts, the woman who refused to say the word “alleged” when interviewing Jussie Smollett, has suddenly discovered that there were “a lot of red flags” in the hate crimes case, now widely dismissed as a hoax. Roberts got a do-over on Monday as she interviewed Chicago’s superintendent of police, Eddie Johnson. At times, Roberts seemed tougher on Johnson than Smollett, demanding details and offering follow-ups. But first, the host tried to rewrite history and pretend she saw problems from the start: “Even though you were saying early on that there was no reason not to...

Is it any wonder that American news consumers are at the end of their ropes of patience with the “mainstream media”? Three weeks ago, when I first documented troubling questions, contradictions and doubts about Trump-hating, attention-craving actor Jussie Smollett’s absurd hate crime claims, few in the “professional” journalism herd paid heed. Now, with a grand jury investigation on the horizon, everyone’s a Johnny-come-lately debunker. And everyone’s making excuses: How could we have known? Why would anyone lie about racism? What could have possibly prepared us for such a scandalous swindle? I’m especially looking at you, Robin Roberts. You and ABC’s...

Jussie Smollett is now officially in the crosshairs of law enforcement, because Chicago PD said he's now "officially classified as a suspect in a criminal investigation ... for filing a false police report." The cops say detectives are currently presenting evidence to a Cook County Grand Jury. If Smollett is charged the felony carries a maximum 3-year prison sentence. We're told the 2 brothers are at the courthouse now and are expected to testify ... most probably today.

Wanna bet? On Good Morning America today, Robin Robert said that when she asked the lawyer for the two men arrested at a Philadelphia Starbucks whether they were planning to sue Starbucks or the City of Philadelphia, he replied: “That’s not what they’re thinking about at this time. That they want to be a part of the process. Remember Kevin Johnson, the CEO, said that they wanted those gentlemen to be part of the process. They say they’re still working that out.” But here was the real tell: “They’re going to allow us, GMA, to follow along and follow up...

Hillary Clinton revealed this morning on ABC News that she finds campaigning in Iowa "exhausting" and that "it takes a lot of concentration." Clinton made the remarks in response to a comment from ABC Robin Roberts about Clinton campaigning in all 99 Iowa counties. Clinton correct Roberts, saying in fact she hasn't visited all of Iowa, and said, "I've covered a lot of ground and I sure have met many thousands of people, and have really learned so much. That's the best part of this. It's obviously exhausting, it takes a lot of concentration, but what keeps me going are...

Robin Roberts was the target of a man who threatened to punch her in the face for not paying a debt, and now he’s behind bars. 43-year-old Troy Warren was arrested Monday after showing up at the GMA studio eight times between June 10 and June 24. A security officer told NYPD Warren threatened to punch Robin in the face because she owed him money. …

"Whatever people think about this issue, we know it's controversial, there's no denying when a president speaks out for the first time like that, it is history," co-host of ABC's "Good Morning America" George Stephanopoulos said to Robin Roberts. And let me tell you, George, I'm getting chills again," "Good Morning America" co-host Robin Roberts said about her interview with Obama. "When you sit in that room and you hear him say those historic words. It was not lost on anyone in there right there. You never know what he's going to say until you ask him," she added.

For President Barack Obama’s ground-breaking interview on gay marriage, the White House turned to a friendly face - ABC’s Robin Roberts. She’s a respected journalist who knows both Barack and Michelle Obama well, isn’t regarded as a difficult “gotcha” interrogator, and whose own identity - and shared love of sports with Obama - was a key factor in the decision to grant her one of the biggest gets of the president’s time in office, according to insiders at ABC and elsewhere. “The White House went with Robin because of her personal rapport, their friendship, the past interviews — but also...

Things must really be getting tough. A congressman has acknowledged that “even” the lords of Capitol Hill need to tighten their belts. Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) made the revealing statement on GMA today. Robin Roberts had invited him to comment on Brian Ross’ investigative report that the head of Bank of America had flown to NYC on a fancy private jet to meet with officials from the NY Attorney General’s office, which is investigating the billions in bonuses Merrill Lynch doled out just before being acquired by BofA. Cummings gave a predictable reply: corporate bosses are “on another planet.” They...

Isn’t this how we got into the mess in the first place, making mortgage loans to people who couldn’t afford them? But in its segment this morning on the stimulus, Good Morning America hailed the work of the Neighborhood Assistance Corp. of America. GMA portrayed the group simply as mortgage counselors, helping distressed homeowners work out tenable terms. But a trip to NACA’s website reveals that they are also multi-billion dollar lenders themselves, who brag of this very curious lending policy: "Everyone gets the same incredible terms, including the below-market interest rate, regardless of their credit score or other factors."...

Is there no solidarity among the Roberts of the world? Granted the first interview with the new president during one of the inaugural balls last night, Robin Roberts devoted a chunk of her precious time to laying the blame for the flubbing of the oath of office at the feet of Chief Justice John Roberts. Pres. Obama responded graciously, acknowledging that both he and the Chief Justice made their mistakes. And indeed, NBC’s Pete Williams, analyzing things at First Read this morning, points out that it was Obama who goofed first, “jump[ing] in before the ‘do solemnly swear’ phrase,” which...

If Britney Spears wants to launch her grand return with a trite and tacky rough-sex pantomine, I suppose that's her business. She's not known as a pop tart for nothing. What I do find noteworthy is the way GMA celebrated that bit of rough stuff, featuring it in its opening minutes. Even there, it's not ABC's descent into schlock that jumps out so much as the double standard. Can you imagine the dutifully feminist ABC applauding such junk if the gender tables had been turned? Me neither. Diane Sawyer, uh, teased things during the show opening. View video here.
