Good Morning America ad, "Michelle Obama will only talk to Robin Roberts"

While watching ABC This Week, ABC ran a Good Morning America television commercial with the tagline of Michelle Obamab will only talk to Robin Roberts, who happens to be a fellow African-American woman.

It seems that Michelle Obama will only talk to African-American journalists. I guess people like Laura Ingraham and even people like Barbara Walters and Katie Couric are not allowed to talk to Michelle Obama, because they are of the wrong skin color.

That's what I get from the Good Morning America commercial.

I have no idea who wrote the copy for the ad. Usually networks will say "exclusive" interview, but this ad was very blatant in saying that Michelle Obama would only talk to Robin Roberts.

The ad had very overt racial overtones, IMO.

If I were anyone giving an interview at all...I wouldn’t pick any of the people that are NORMALLY EXPECTED to get the interview. I would choose a lesser known someone from a local station. Someone who is really interested in my story...not the people on TV now who... like hilllereee think they are ENTITLED.
