A few days ago it was reported the non-citizen alien who killed five people in a Washington State mall was a frequent voter. Last week a dead voter registration drive for Democrats was discovered in Colorado, this week it is Virginia. Strange how we never hear a single case of “republican voter fraud“…. (Via WFB) A Virginia Young Democrat working for a Democrat-aligned voter registration group got caught filing applications on behalf of dead people when he filed an application for a deceased World War II veteran who was known by a local clerk.

The Stonewall Democrats of Pinellas County are crying foul over Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark's decision to hold voter registration drives at nine Chick-fil-A locations. Chick-fil-A, the fast-food chain known for putting faith ahead of profits, supports conservative causes. Susan McGrath, leader of the Stonewall Democrats and head of the Pinellas Democratic Party, said the decision to use Chick-fil-A would be similar to a Democratic supervisor of elections holding the event at Planned Parenthood.

In 2012, President Obama won re-election by almost 5 million votes, but about 47 million eligible white voters without a college degree — including 24 million men — didn’t bother to vote. In 2016, these nonvoters are part of the demographic that is most strongly in favor of Donald Trump. If Trump rouses even a fraction of these notoriously disaffected Americans — like this grease-smudged, 61-year-old first-time voter in western Pennsylvania — he could surge to victory. There’s just one catch: If we’re on the cusp of a blue-collar Great Awakening, it’s not yet showing up in the registration data....

A federal lawsuit alleging widespread confusion over California's presidential primary rules asks that voter registration be extended past Monday's deadline until the day of the state's primary election on June 7. "Mistakes are being made," said William Simpich, an Oakland civil rights attorney who filed the lawsuit. At issue is whether voters understand the rules for the presidential primary, which differ from those governing other elections in California. Unlike statewide primaries -- where voters now choose any candidate, no matter the political party -- the presidential contests are controlled by the parties themselves. Democrats have opened up their primary to...

Many hundreds of Amazon Kindle Fire users are reporting their Kindle registration data and all account information stored on their Kiindle electronic readers have been wiped clean - the kindle has been returned back to zero-zero or original empty. No name, no account, no stored books, no stored videos or audio or music, not even a single piece of anything loaded on the device. On the Amazon feedback site, there is no solution. No one has reported losing power or physical harm (dropped the kindle, dipped it in water or a tub, lost power completely, nor did anything but "turned...

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Tuesday comforted an independent voter who can't cast a ballot in New York's Democratic primary. “Right now I’m doing everything I can to get my vote casted for him,” the man told ABC News upon encountering Sanders in New York City’s Times Square. I can sign a court order, an affidavit, whatever I need to do, and I’m going to do that. But it shouldn’t be this hard to vote.” Sanders then patted his supporter’s shoulder before agreeing that the Empire State’s primary rules are shutting out voters. “Today, three million people in the state...

With nearly half a million registered members, the American Independent Party is bigger than all of California's other minor parties combined. The ultraconservative party's platform opposes abortion rights and same sex marriage, and calls for building a fence along the entire United States border. Based in the Solano County home of one of its leaders, the AIP bills itself as “The Fastest Growing Political Party in California." But a Times investigation has found that a majority of its members have registered with the party in error. Nearly three in four people did not realize they had joined the party, a...

The most important state in this year’s presidential election is illegally removing thousands of voters from the rolls, a new voting rights lawsuit alleges. Ohio currently cancels the registration of people who don’t vote in three successive federal elections, or any of the intervening local elections — a procedure known as the Supplemental Process. Last year, around 40,000 people were removed from the rolls of Ohio’s largest county, Cuyahoga, a Democratic stronghold. Stuart Naifeh, a lawyer with Demos, said that suggests “tens or hundreds of thousands” of people were removed statewide last year alone. “We have spoken to purged voters...

On February 24 New York Times op-ed contributors Abner Mikva and Lawrence Rosenthal argued that it is time to register all guns and license all gun owners; background checks are not enough. Moreover, the authors suggested such licensing and registration would not violate the Second Amendment. According to the NYT op-ed, background checks are not sufficient, there are too many ways to go around them. “A more effective system would require everyone who owns or acquires a gun to register it.†And a second component to this “effective system†would be a licensing requirement for all persons who wish to...

Good news and bad news for Trump fans from Nate Cohn. The good news: If you’re looking for evidence that Monday night’s electorate will include a bunch of people who’ve never voted Republican before, which probably means a stronger than expected showing for Trump, here you go. New registrations for the GOP are up from where they were in 2012: This is what the figures look like corrected AND with new data. It's a completely different story. pic.twitter.com/sbYDUchlo3— Nate Cohn (@Nate_Cohn) January 28, 2016 Those are dismal numbers for Bernie Sanders, who’s hoping to bring his own surge of...

It's inevitable when my husband and I visit family these days that the subject of violence in Baltimore comes up. Often, I'm the one who raises it. But when it came up last week on a trip to see my parents in Georgia, I got my back up. I thought of the 11-hour drive south and the billboards we passed along I-81 boasting guns for sale ("A Glock for Christmas"!), and of the story my brother-in-law, who lives in Florida, told of a neighbor stopping by to shoot the breeze in his suburban driveway, a handgun holstered at the man's waist as their kids played nearby.

By John F. Di Leo - REFLECTIONS ON GUN CONTROL AND THE ROLE OF GOVERNMENT Residents of Milwaukee, Wisconsin get their water from the city. Like most cities, the government operates water treatment plants, which filter out all sorts of impurities, both living organisms and other contaminants, so that people can trust the water that runs from their faucets. In the early 1990s, an environmentalist city government made a few changes in the city’s water filtration network. Making environmentally-friendly changes to a treatment system may be nice to protozoa such as cryptosporidium, but it’s not very nice to the residents...

Members of the Lexington Militia, Massachusetts Colony, lined up in formation on the town green and waited. When the British Regulars marched into town and saw them they rushed over and squared off facing them, ready for a fight. No one knows who fired the first shot. It was the beginning of a very long day, the first day of our American Revolution, April 19, 1775. To what extent revolution is in the air today is a matter of perspective. But the parallel here, with the possibility of armed clashes, cannot be missed. Resistance to the gun registration laws of...

The highly influential Center for American Progress, which has deep ties to the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton, recently released an extensive report calling for the nation’s lead agency on gun regulation to be merged into the FBI.

The generalities of the centerÂ’s 182-page report were widely covered by media upon its release last May. However, the details in the report were largely unmentioned, including by conservative media agencies.

In a ruling that directly paves the way for mass confiscation of firearms in America, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, in a much-anticipated decision, has upheld the constitutionality of the New York SAFE Act of 2013. Shockingly, the court ruled that nearly all of the most drastic gun control law in the history of the United States did not violate the Second Amendment and is therefore constitutional. That’s right, a law passed in the wake of Sandy Hook that included and paved the way for confiscation of millions of legally purchased firearms has been ruled “constitutional”...
