  • Sanders: I'm Declining Dem Nomination and Running as an Independent

    08/15/2018 9:54:01 PM PDT · by ameribbean expat · 53 replies
On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “All In,” Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) stated that, despite winning the Democratic primary, he will run for re-election in 2018 as an Independent. Sanders said, “I have always run as an Independent, and that’s what I will do. And I think people in Vermont understand that. We have a very good relationship with the Democratic Party. I suspect that this coming campaign we’ll be putting more money — our campaign will be putting more money into the Vermont Democratic Party than anybody else and supporting a whole lot of good Democratic candidates.” Host Ali Velshi...

Did anyone in America, the USA, take notice of the Mid-Term election primary held in Democrat, liberal, Progressive, Socialist, Communist State of Washington, yesterday? Shucks, why the ever effective Media has acted like Washington was not there. Lots of press coverage for Ohio, Kansas, Missouri & Michigan...but, alas, barely a word spoken about the wonder land of the Democrat, Liberal. Progressive, Socialist, Communist state of "Washington" and its adored heroes, Bernie Sanders & Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, last night & today. Wonder why? Republican, Marsha Blackburn wins the U.S. Senate primary copying the recent Georgia wipe out of Democrats. The Republicans, across the board, are amassing hundreds of thousands of votes more then Democrats. The Democrat vote turn out was dismal to say the least. Marsha Blackburn will be elected the next Senator of Tennessee Texas, Florida, Georgia & now Tennessee will be "bright red" come election day in November, 2018.

Republican voters in South Carolina’s fourth congressional district will go to the polls in mere hours to pick between two conservative stalwarts in the GOP primary, but only one choice will effectively go on to represent South Carolina conservatives in Washington. Both former state Sen. Lee Bright and current state Sen. William Timmons are sound defenders of liberty. Without question, either leader would be better than ninety percent of the sitting Members of Congress. Each candidate supports President Trump, champions lower taxes and reduced federal spending, and publicly defends the Second Amendment. However, in terms of style, the candidates are...

Arizona’s Senate GOP primary is pushing Rep. Martha McSally (R) to the right on immigration as she juggles the hot-button issue with the pressure of battling hard-right primary opponents. McSally, who has represented a Tucson-area swing seat since 2015, has cast herself as an immigration hawk, most notably by removing her co-sponsorship of a more moderate immigration bill last month. “It presents an opportunity for her to solidify her position on immigration with primary voters,” a Republican political consultant in Arizona told The Hill. “If she handles it well, it’s a very good opportunity. If she doesn’t, it could be...
  • Winners and Losers: Trump is the big winner in Tuesday’s primaries

Tuesday brought another set of primaries across the country — in Maine, South Carolina, Nevada, North Dakota and Virginia — and another set of surprises. Here are the night's winners and losers. Winners President Trump: It's overly simplistic to say that South Carolina GOP congressman Mark Sanford lost his primary Tuesday because of Trump. But Trump was definitely a factor in making Sanford the second House Republican in 2018 to lose a primary. The president sent off this remarkably caustic tweet on Tuesday afternoon, as voters in South Carolina were getting off work and going to vote.

He’s got a resume that includes pimping, owning a brothel and starring in his own adult reality show — and he could be the next representative in the Nevada state legislature. Dennis Hof took the GOP primary Tuesday night, The Reno Gazette-Journal reported. Hof beat James Oscarson, a three-term incumbent, for the nomination. Hof, also known by a few as the author of “The Art of the Pimp,” says he owes his electoral triumph to President Donald Trump’s inspiration. “It’s all because Donald Trump was the Christopher Columbus for me,” Hof informed the Associated Press. “He found the way and...

    Washington Examiner ^ | June 12, 2018 | W. James Antle III
Rep. Barabara Comstock, R-Va., beat back conservative primary challenger Shak Hill to defend her House seat this fall. Comstock will face off against Democratic state Sen. Jennifer Wexton in Virginia's 10th Congressional District, which voted for Hillary Clinton by 10 points in 2016. The suburban district's support for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Democratic Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam in 2017, as well as its centrist voters' continued antipathy toward President Trump, has made it one of the Democrats' top targets in the midterm elections.

WASHINGTON — Prince William County Board Chair Corey Stewart, a bombastic supporter of President Donald Trump, has won the Virginia GOP primary in the U.S. Senate race in a narrow victory over Virginia Del. Nick Freitas. The hard-right firebrand now faces Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine, the Democrats’ 2016 vice presidential nominee and former Virginia governor, who is seeking a second term. Speaking to his supporters gathered Tuesday night in Warrenton, Virginia, Freitas conceded the race and pledged to support Stewart in the general election. The race between Stewart and Freitas remained close throughout the night as ballots were counted. The...

The California Election 2018 primary has come and gone. It was real, and it was spectacular. Yes, I wrote that, as a beleaguered California conservative and Trump supporter. Election results worked out quite well in our favor and for the country as a whole. Was there a blue wave? Nope. More like a trickle, and the results portend a red resurgence of sorts. Perhaps a red wave will finally wash over the country and finish in the Pacific Ocean. For the past 8 years, from the Tea Party wave of 2010 to the present day, I watched with sad dismay...

Voters on Tuesday head to the polls for California's pivotal primary, which could help determine whether Democrats will gain control of the House in the November midterms. The Golden State is home to 10 of the most competitive House races in the nation, virtually all currently held by Republicans. The state is a key to the Democratic Party’s plan to net the 23 seats it needs to flip the House majority in November. But uncertainty abounds thanks to the state's "jungle primary" system, where the top two vote-getters advance to the general election regardless of party affiliation. The unusual dynamic...

Arnold Schwarzenegger, who once famously warned Republicans that they were “dying at the box office,” has decided not to support either of the leading GOP candidates for California governor, a spokesman said on Friday. The former governor’s decision to speak out against the candidacies of John Cox, a Rancho Sante Fe businessman, and Travis Allen, an Orange County legislator, stands in sharp contrast to his past refusals to weigh in on those who have followed him into office. “They will not get his vote,” said spokesman Daniel Ketchell. Schwarzenegger’s decision was based on the candidates' past statements about climate change,...

Yes, you can vote in the CA Primary if you haven't been talking or colluding with the Russians. Guess we won't know how many people, however, talked to the Russians and used the CA mail-in ballots to vote. President Trump charged California with voter fraud. Trump, however, signed an executive order dissolving the commission in order to avoid legal battles.

Republican businessman John Cox has strengthened his second-place position in the race for California governor, making him likely to qualify for the general election against Democrat Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom after the June 5 primary, according to a new poll. The Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies has Newsom at 33 percent of likely voters and Cox at 20 percent, according to the Sacramento Bee.
