The 13-3 win for the New England Patriots over the Los Angeles Rams last night wasn’t the most exciting Super Bowl ever played by any measure, but the 2019 big NFL game was sure one for the history books. First of all, in the Patriots’ third consecutive visit to Super Bowl, the match-up in Atlanta on Sunday was the lowest scoring Super Bowl ever, a dubious honor at best. The record was previously held by Super Bowl VII, which saw the Miami Dolphins best the Washington Redskins 14-7 on January 14, 1973. Secondly, Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady is now the...

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) Can somebody tell me why I still watch these things? – The NFL almost pulled off what I had always assumed was the utterly impossible last night, staging a Super Bowl game that was very nearly as boring and tedious as a damn soccer match. Yes, yes, yes, I know – it was a “great defensive battle,” right? Spare me, please. It was a game in which LA Rams quarterback Jared Goff played worse than any Super Bowl QB since at least Billy Kilmer and really since Joe Kapp in Super Bowl...

...[He's] given Jim Nantz, who’s been at the network since 1985, a new energy, a new vigor. “I’ve heard a lot of people say that,” Nantz told me this week. “It’s probably true. … I definitely feel like I’m trying to match up with Tony’s enthusiasm.” “I gotta be honest,” said Tracy Wolfson, the crew’s sideline reporter. “I felt reinvigorated going down the stretch of the season.” Romo’s not just an announcer. He’s an energy drink. It’s not just Romo’s thirst for football that has changed the CBS crew. As Wolfson notes, Romo’s hiring allowed a rare reset for a...

Their star quarterback, coach, and owner all supported Trump. But that’s not the only thing that makes the Super Bowl LIII-bound Patriots the preferred team of white nationalists. This past weekend, the Super Bowl-bound New England Patriots held a rally for their sweatiest fans at Gillette Stadium. Brady gave a speech. It ended… unnervingly. WE’RE STILL HERE! WE’RE STILL HERE! Obviously, Brady is referring to his aging, decrepit, cheating-ass squad’s progression to the big game. But, imagine you didn’t know anything about football, or who Tom Brady was, or anything like that. You would think that you were watching some square-jawed...

The wild thing about this particular Super Bowl matchup, though, is that the phenomenon of teams from the same cities facing off in two consecutive title games is very rare. By virtue of having Red Sox-Dodgers and Patriots-Rams both taking place in the 2018 (or 2018-2019 season), it marks the first time since Super Bowl III in 1969 that this has happened: Super Bowl III: Jets-Colts in January 1969, and then in October 1969 Mets-Orioles. Different seasons. Same calendar year.

Didn't watch much football this year but glad that Trump supporting Tom Brady and Bill Belichick got their 9th Super Bowl together and their 6th Super Bowl victory. Trump tweet incoming for sure.

Wow! Take a deep breath as the Daily Beast plunges into the depths of Trump Derangement Syndrome with off the charts diatribes against the New England Patriots. Their crime? According to the Daily Beast writer, Corbin Smith, on Friday it is because the Patriots are Team MAGA due to their star quarterback, coach, and owner being suspected of (GASP!) supporting President Donald Trump.Smith's extreme anger begins with the title, "Tom Brady’s New England Patriots Are Team MAGA, Whether They Like It or Not," and gets even worse with the subtitle, "Their star quarterback, coach, and owner all supported Trump. But...

Eric Dickerson is a legend in all respects, a Hall of Famer and one of the best running backs to ever play the game. He also used to play for the Rams. And like most Rams fans, he's convinced that the Patriots cheated during their last Super Bowl matchup against the Rams.

Tom Brady will be going for a sixth Super Bowl victory when his New England Patriots take on the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. But the legendary quarterback will have at least one famous face cheering against him - Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe. In an interview with Variety, Daniel called out Brady for his support of American president Donald Trump. In 2015, a Make America Great Again hat was spotted in Brady's locker, prompting the quarterback to declare that it "would be great" if Trump became president...

Some kids make baking soda and vinegar volcanoes for their science fair projects. Others find a way to turn their passion into a science fair project. Meet Ace Davis, a 10-year-old kid from Lexington, Kentucky who created a science fair project about Tom Brady. While kids in New England might be trying to figure out how to scientifically prove that Brady is the greatest quarterback who ever lived, Ace decided to go in a different direction. He created a science fair project that proves that Brady is a cheater. Ace sought to prove that Brady was a cheater through science....

A KMBC 9 News photojournalist's camera caught someone using what appears to be a laser pointer directed at Tom Brady's face during Sunday night’s AFC Championship game at Arrowhead Stadium. The first instance caught on camera was on a hand-off from Tom Brady to Sony Michel in the fourth quarter. The previous play was a punt that appeared to be muffed by Patriots' receiver Julian Edelman but was later overturned. Laser researcher Charles Cobb, DDS, MS, PhD., said based on the size of the spot, it looks like the person was sitting far back in the end zone, possibly in...

The New England Patriots are going to the Super Bowl. It’s a familiar story that most football fans outside the greater Boston area are weary of. When Tom Brady led an overtime touchdown drive to beat the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, New England punched its ninth Super Bowl ticket of the Brady/Bill Belichick era. Patriots incite anger The reactions on Twitter were swift and often harsh, with many we wouldn’t repost here due to some exceptionally angry language. Some chose to express their anger in less-profane ways.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — They just won’t die. The Patriots survived a wild, back-and-forth game to beat the Chiefs 37-31 in overtime in the AFC Championship at Arrowhead Stadium. The win puts them back in the Super Bowl for the third straight year and fourth time in five years where they will face the Rams in two weeks in Atlanta.

Tom Brady bet on himself this season and lost big. As part of a series of team-friendly deals the three-time MVP has taken from the Patriots, Brady had $5 million in performance bonuses built into his contract for 2018, and he will receive exactly none of that money. Brady was in line to receive $1 million for finishing in the top five in the league in each of passer rating, completion percentage, yards per attempt, touchdown passes and passing yards, according to contract data from Spotrac.com. He failed to accomplish any of those.

It was, of course, Veteran’s Day weekend and NFL teams found various ways to commemorate. The 49ers had a line of men and women who are serving or have served our country in the armed forces. That was cool enough, but Kittle made sure that he honored each and every one of them with a handshake.
