Top RNC aide quits, blasts Steele By: Jonathan Martin November 16, 2010 01:06 PM EST Republican National Committee political director Gentry Collins resigned from his post Tuesday morning with a stinging indictment of Chairman Michael Steele’s two-year tenure at the committee. In a four-page letter to Steele and the RNC’s executive committee obtained by POLITICO, Collins lays out inside details, previously only whispered, about the disorganization that plagues the party. He asserts that the RNC’s financial shortcomings limited GOP gains this year and reveals that the committee is deeply in debt entering the 2012 presidential election cycle. “In the previous...

The manager of Don Otto’s - a recently shuttered food market in the South End - is blaming neighborhood patrons for its untimely demise, cooking up an angry message to fair-weather fans of the Tremont Street eatery. “Don Otto’s Market wants to say we had few customers that understood customer loyalty and its importance to our business,” a message on its Web site reads, later adding: “If you came in only for baguettes, the occasional piece of cheese, the occasional dinner . . . you can not tell yourself you were a supporter of our market.”

"Farewell, DUmmieland! I must leave you now! This place is not what it once was. No, don't beg me to stay! I know you will miss me terribly, but I must make my dramatic exit now. Why, I remember the golden days of yesteryore, when this was such a magical place, and we oldtimers all were one big happy family--not like what this place has BECOME, which is why I must take my leave. No, really, I WILL NOT STAY, no matter how much you sing my praises and beg me not to go. . ." Thus DUmmie Hekate...

Sorry but i have read so many topics about the so called socialized health care that i don´t get it at all. For me (european) it just looks like both "sides" are just lying 24/7. For example the "democrats" try to pick up the best of european health care and try to tell every one that its like this is all the way. And the republicans pick up the negative sides of different european countries and try to portray it like it would be all the same.btw. Don´t get me wrong. Both factors exist in some form but both are...

The NRA is now openly floating, or at least allowing to be floated, its endorsement of Harry Reid, a man who voted for the Brady Gun Bill. In a New York Times puff piece on the NRA that largely gives the NRA credit for things it tried to undermine (more on that later), there is this: A point of contention on both the left and the right is the N.R.A.’s close working relationship with Mr. Reid, the Senate leader who helped get a number of pro-gun rights measures included in broader bills. That relationship has led some gun rights supporters...

The man who shot himself on the steps of Memorial Church Saturday morning had published online a 1,905-page document entitled “Suicide Note,” according to his mother. The death of Mitchell L. Heisman, a 35-year-old Somerville resident, on campus was met with shock, and University officials described the incident as “tragic.” “It’s really sad, it was horrible, and these kinds of incidents affect all of us really negatively,” Dean of the College Evelynn M. Hammonds said in an interview yesterday. “This campus is situated in an urban context, and we can’t control these kinds of things.” Born in New York City...

Banning folks because of solicitation, perceived or real, is a bunch of hogwash, B.S.!

I asked Jim Robinson today to delete my account on Free Republic. He asked me to post an opus so some folks would not think that I was banned for no reason. Here is my brief opus: Thank you Free Republic and Good Bye. This was an excellent forum for many years but now I do not think it is so in my humble opinion. The trend where the forum is going is very clear to me and I do not want to be part of it. For all the Freepers with whom I have had good relationship and great...

I love living in the United States and love political debates! We had an important senate election here and I proudly chose Scott Brown for senate because Martha Coakley was totally clueless and incompetent. I looked at both candidates for president carefully. John McCain is a true military hero and even worked across the aisle on McCain-Feingold, McCain-Lieberman and McCain-Kennedy. Thry were three very good bills. However, McCain is anti-choice, anti-gay and too pro-gun. Barack Obama was short on experience, but I liked his postions on many issues except for the middle east and he's not agressive enough on the...

1. If you were a state governor who was eight months pregnant--and remember, Sarah Palin already knew hers was a high-risk pregnancy because of her age (44) and, according to her book, her baby having been diagnosed via amniocentesis as having Down syndrome--and you were scheduled to fly some 4,000 miles from home to give a speech at a conference, would you (a) give your speech from home via teleconferencing, using modern real-time technology, and explain to your hosts that the high-risk nature and advanced stage of your pregnancy made you reluctant to fly; or, alternatively, send the deputy governor to give your speech or (b) dismiss any staff or security slated to fly with you and insist on flying 4,000 miles to the conference yourself?

I deposit the Risk into the account of a dummy finance company for management, called the republican party. Then, I deposit the damage into the account of a dummy corporation for control, called the democratic party. I leave all the bible belt religions as spoilers, or third parties; putting them down as department store chains. To stave off the profit into the mints money burning facility, to insure that the money is worthless in terms of pragmatic value, and is only practical believed values. And the Black market is pimped as bad but, even losing even your kindeys in a...

Jim Rob gets what he deserves... Crappy response time on servers because he shut down those who would dare to question Bush and the epic failure that he was.... I got hosed because I dared pointing out Bush was an epic failure...sorry DAD...I didn't toe the line Free Republic used to be something else....it actually stood for something... Now this is just an echo chamber.... Too damn bad....this from the guy that spent thousands of dollars on Sore Loserman signs, stickers and FR donations.... and pushed that...the guy who pushed back tons of dollars to FR.... Now FR is slowly...

What a pathetic opus this is. I feel as though I owe y'all more. Unfortunately, I got nuthin'. I'm going silent running. Time for me to stop arguing, laughing, pointing, and analyzing online. Time to start the full-time operation of altering future history by changing the present. Time to make a difference in this distasteful stew of retrograde ethics and absent morality. How effing distasteful this is. But the only thing more distasteful I can imagine is to allow this present course of events to remain unchallenged and unaltered. Darkness is on the ascendant. Time for Mr. Candle to put...

I have a question for the denizens of Free Republic. Why do so many conservatives consider libertarians to be as bad as liberals? Yes, I realize that libertarians tend to be unrealistically isolationist and don't support the conservative social agenda, but it would seem that we would be natural allies based upon economic policy. A country where conservatives and libertarians were the two dominant parties wouldn't be a bad thing.

I’m before the "church", confessing my sins, and asking for your forgiveness. I am a fake and a fraud. I have lied, and puffed, and am now laying my soul bare. With most lies, there’s plenty of truth to lay the table. But, I must get that into the past and step back fully into the light. I have pissed off many FReepers, and pissed on others. I poke fun and join the fun, with everyone here on the board. I have opinions, and share the same excremental portal as others. Most of you are better than me. That is...

I posted this under general/chat category "wierd stuff" where it belongs ... I've been on here since 1998, in these past 12 years I've changed alot. I became deathly ill only to make myself better through natural means. I even had 3 children since 1998 as well. When I first joined I had just had my eyes opened to Christianity and to the real Christ, having previously voted for Clinton in 92 I realized I was very wrong in my thoughts and started voting Republican. But now, 12 years later I have learned even more, enough to know to stop...

...Palin endorses John McCain? Top ten... 1) She's just "playing the game". Standing on principle and voting the RINO's out is fine as long as it doesn't interfere with Sarah becoming prez. 2) If Sarah says supporting RINO's is okay, that's good enough for me. The Messiah is infallible and what do I know?. 3) She's not being inconsistent, she's making a tactical retreat, but hey that's politics. 4) A smart move by the smartest woman in the world. 5) She didn't want to but the dims threatened to file an ethics complaint if she didn't. 6) She's not quiting,...

If Facebook is taking over your life, a new website is offering you a way out. The site, Seppukoo.com, offers ritual suicide for Facebook users’ virtual profiles by deactivating your account. And it doesn’t stop there. If you’re willing to end it all, the site will feature a RIP memorial page on its site and sends the page to all your Facebook friends.

Ive been here for about 12 years on and off (drudge exposing Monica and BJ) It seems there is so much hate on these websites...makes me feel dirty. Good luck and buh by. Hope Sarah makes it...Im convinced she is the real deal.
