CONCRETE, Wash. — Skagit County deputies say a man taking selfies while posing with a gun died after he accidentally shot himself in the face on Sunday. The Skagit County Herald says it happened in front of the 43-year-old man's girlfriend at a home on Baker Loop Road in Concrete. The Herald said the two had reportedly been taking pictures of themselves with the gun, with the man unloading and reloading the gun several times throughout the day, when he fired the deadly shot. LOS ANGELES -- A California Highway Patrol officer in President Barack Obama's motorcade was injured in a crash while escorting the president through West Los Angeles on Friday. The motorcycle officer went down around 10 a.m. on the southbound 405 Freeway at Olympic Boulevard. The officer was taken to a local hospital, but was said to be OK.
