About 15 years ago, I started noticing a change in the world around me. It started out very subtly: a movie with an obvious liberal slant – the media, schools, government and even churches pushing social justice themes whenever they could slip them in without ruffling too many feathers. But this insidious march toward an unremitting takeover of our social fabric and American culture was never obstructed or even mildly opposed. As with most things in life, the reasons for the success of this situation were multi-faceted. Conservatives by nature are respectful of individuality and others’ opinions. We are the...
  • WEEK 573 Olney Support The Troops Rally – VICTORY and an Invite

    01/08/2017 11:23:54 AM PST · by trooprally · 38 replies
After 573 weeks, starting our 12 year on the New Year Weekend, the DC Chapter is declaring VICTORY over the moonbats that formally stood opposite us. There has been a single moonbats for several years, occasionally having support from her daughter. Since mid-October, she has been a no show. Weather has been good most weeks, but she has stood in inclement weather in the past. We can only conclude she has given up. The DC Chapter is going to have a special FReep, Saturday, January 21,2017, the day after Trump’s inauguration. All FReepers in good standing are invited to join...
  • WEEK 526: COLD - Olney, MD

    02/14/2016 1:42:10 PM PST · by trooprally · 41 replies
Cold weather finally settled in. After a 70 degree Christmas day, it was welcomed - NOT BELOW: This is Lurker Jim's temperature reading at 10AM as we got started. . But this pales when compared to several Walter Reed FReeps. One time Kburi's gauge read 20 when we started and 12 when we ended. And there was no ambient warmth from the sun on the cold Friday nights. Of course today in Olney there was 20 MPH+ winds which cancelled out any ambient warmth. One gust was so high that we saw gravel and trash being blown along Rte. 108....

We made it out to Olney today. Main roads were great after a week of cleanout. The State instead of just plowing, is putting the snow in dump trucks and hauling it away. That is one reason Snowmagedden 2010 seemed worst that this snow fall.

    myfoxphilly.com ^ | 5/12/15 | Ryan Dennis,
We are following a developing story in Olney involving multiple Philadelphia Police officers. The scene began on the 700 block of Chew Street where a man driving a purple Chrysler hit a police officer just before 2:30pm Tuesday. FOX 29's Dave Schratwieser says the suspect led police on pursuit on Stenton and Ogontz and stopped on the 1900 block of Colonial Street where shots were fired by police. Sources confirm a suspect was shot in the chest. There is no word on his condition. Sources tell FOX 29 four officers are injured. At least three officers are being treated at...

Yes FR, there is an ACTIVE DC Chapter Not all of the DC Chapter FReeps had AARs wrote, so it was decided to write a Year In Review AAR for all of our activities. Enjoy the new AARs threads and remember the ones you already read. April 01: Dr Raoul’s Funeral: There were 18 FReepers in Philadelphia this day. They came from Ohio (StayTrue), Florida (Kristinn, TGSLtakoma and Taxman), the eastern shore of Maryland (Credo2) and places in between. We finally met Raoul’s family and his family finally met Raoul’s FR family. All were pleased to talk with each other...

Warning - Warning Will Robinson TROOPRALLY, Do not try deep frying a turkey in 30 degree weather!! And don’t leave the turkey outside while it takes 90 minutes for the oil to reach the minimum 325 degree temperature, it will also become super cold, the oil will drop to 50 degrees, never to come back up!! And so dinner started an hour late. Luckily we had plenty of chaffing dishes keeping all the other food hot and ready. But before the official D.C. Chapter Christmas Party started, a hearty but cold 8 Patriots FReeped the "Quackers" in Olney. They were...

The Trooprally's did it to me again. Left town for the weekend. It was another Friday afternoon dinner at their house. I usually go over to their house right after work and spend a few hours killing time before the three of us head down to Walter Reed to keep Code Pink away from the front gate. We were sitting down to eat and [Mr] Trooprally says, "Me and the Mrs are going out of town next Saturday." Cindy-True-Supporter and Janet I should of jumped up out of my chair right then and pretended that I needed to go...

Strange things happen when the Trooprallys are out of town and I have to fill in. I won't go into detail about what happened last time. This time, sure as space aliens crash landed in Rosswell New Mexico back in '47, the Straight Talking Curvaceous Walking Bus was stopped at the traffic light while we were setting up! If kburi was there you'd see a photo of the "Shake-things-up Express" bus right here But as luck would have it, kburi, who was in charge of taking pictures, was not there! We had just erected the "Support Our Troops"...

WOW and DOUBLE WOW is the only way I can describe the Patriotic Americans that attended the Walter Reed and Olney FReeps. It’s Saturday afternoon as I started this combined AAR and my heart still pounds with pride over all those who came out, especially to Walter Reed on the evening of the Fourth. Since I’m honored this week to write the Walter Reed AAR and usually write the Olney AAR, I had to combine the two because of their similarities. Several weeks ago a question as to who will be at Walter Reed came up. About 4 or 5...

In the community of Shady Grove Woods, trees are becoming more and more scarce. Residents and other anti-Intercounty Connector activists marched through the neighborhood on Saturday, pointing out the trees that were cut down to make way for the six-lane highway. ‘‘It’s just that we didn’t have a say in it in so many ways and we’re not talking about a two-lane road, we’re talking about a major highway running through here,” resident Sam Chim said of the ICC. ‘‘We have a lot of nice, private woods back here and now we’re going to have a highway running through instead....

The Walter Reed MOAB was honored to be placed over the entrance to a local Olney/Laytonsville, MD., restaurant, Dave's American Bistro, for their day long celebration. Dave's American Bistro is located at 5500 Olney-Laytonsville Road, MD Rte. 108, just down the road from the Olney FReeps. The owner (BELOW LEFT in blue), who disavows any family relation to the "sheehag", Kevin Sheehan, along with his better half, Judy (BELOW RIGHT in yellow/blue stripe), opened the restaurant to all military personal for a day of free food, beer and music. But the idea started when he learned Maryland National guard Units,...

For all you FReepers that read the first 5 lines of a thread to see if you are interested, YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE MISSING UNLESS YOU STOP ON IN ON THE OLNEY FREEP. We are always PICTURE HEAVY (kudos to iMacMan and [Mrs] T) with a good narrative (patting myself on the back) to go along with the pics. Of course BufordP and BMWcyle's reports when [Mrs] T and I are away are also great. Thanks to both. So as not to disappoint those who have stopped by for the first time, iMacMan does a terrific job catching...

Party 2006 – DC Chapter Christmas is the holiday to remember the birth of Jesus..., despite the questionable day chosen. . In the good old USA we use this holiday additionally for friendship and celebrations of those friendships for many weeks prior. In DC on December 9 the FReeper chapter had such a celebration. And what a grand one it was! God provided the good weather for our birthday party for his Son An outstanding day for the FReep in Olney earlier also… FReeper’s Trooprally (Mr.& Mrs) opened their charming home in park-like setting(yes, the deer came also!) and...

The moonbats could not take the heat today. And it was only in the mid-80s. The were packed up and GONE by 4:20 today. During the winter months, they had the sun keeping them a little warmer than our group who were in the shadows of some mature pine trees. Being hardened FReepers from the cold nights at Walter Reed, we stayed at our corner until the moonbats were long gone. But now that it is summer, the leaves on the trees on the grassy knoll immediately behind us keep us in the shade while the sun beats down on...

The antiwar groups are at it again in Olney, Maryland. Olney is 10 miles due north of Washington, DC, on Georgia Avenue, which is the same road where we FReep at Walter Reed and the same road where the Protest Warriors, with help from some FReepers, tangled with protestors at the Silver Spring Recruitment Center back in November. Sounds like we should change the street name, then the antiwar groups would get lost, but I digress. Greater Olney is a small town of 35,000. But it is in the middle of a very liberal Blue State that tries to out...

(See <->http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1552773/posts<-> for first week's AAR and what started our FReep.) WE OUTNUMBERED the PeaceAction group 9 TO 8. Cut/paste PeaceActionMC.org if you want to view their site. These groups are like the gopher game, hit one at one place and another pops up. Honor roll for today were Concretebob (PW), Gate2Wire, GunsareOK, Paltz (PW), Lurker Bill and Lurker Joan (Both locals), [Mr & Mrs] Trooprally, and Local Hasley. Some of the FReepers double as PW and we thank them for coming. Below, GunsareOK, Local Halsey wearing...

On Saturday the 14th a few strong hearty Freepers went to Olney to confront the latest moonbat gathering. The Peace Action group was present with one left over hippy (Bush Hater using some of his limited four letter vocabulary), several Quakers (focused just only one part of scripture, Blessed are the Peacemakers), and one or two DNCers (In Denial they voted for any Clinton). They arrived in their Asian cars with Kerry stickers on their bumpers, posters with pictures of fallen heroes, posters with War is not the Answer (with no other solutions), and two large banners. They number about...

The afternoon started with the arrival a small but determined group from the Walter Reed victory on the Friday night. The group contained Apple Blossom, Lurker Bill, Concretebob, Doctor Raoul, Lurker Joan, gate2wire, Lurker George and his wife Ethel, and bmwcyle. We had a visit by a Vietnam Veteran, who stood on the grassy knoll above the peace-niks. He told them that signs similar to the ones their hands help to kill over 50,000 of his brothers in arms. Also a great mother of a young Marine solder over in Iraq stopped by to show her support. The cars driving...
