Bill Clinton cast his electoral vote for his wife, Hillary Clinton, in Albany, New York, on Monday, telling reporters afterward what a memorable experience it was. “I’ve never cast a vote I was prouder of,” a teary-eyed Clinton said. The former president, a Democratic member of the Electoral College for the state of New York, praised his wife for her perseverance through a complicated and hard-fought campaign. “You know, I watched her work for two years, I watched her battle through that bogus email deal,” Clinton said. “She fought through everything and she prevailed against it all.”(continued)

President-elect Donald Trump has become more popular among New York voters since his stunning win on election night, according to a Siena College poll released Monday. Forty-one percent of voters in the state now hold a favorable opinion of the president-elect ― the highest ever favorable rating in any Siena poll of New York. Trump’s favorable rating is 7 points higher now than it was when the college conducted its last poll just before Election Day. Likewise, his unfavorable rating has dropped by 10 percent in the same period, from 63 to 53 percent. Trump lost the largely Democratic state...

The Governor of New York State hasn’t been indicted for anything yet, but nearly every rock which gets kicked over in Andrew Cuomo’s vicinity seems to reveal more roaches scurrying away from the light. After a pack of his aides and associates were indicted last week by Preet Bharara, the Albany Times Union began digging into the background of some of the state executive branch staff and almost immediately turned up something interesting. One of the indicted individuals, Steven F. Aiello, has a son who is employed by the Governor as a senior policy adviser. The son, Steven L....

A federal grand jury indicted former Gov. Cuomo aide Joseph Percoco Tuesday for allegedly hustling upstate companies that wanted profitable government contracts, prosecutors said. The feds charged Percoco — Cuomo's ex-executive secretary and campaign manager — with six corruption counts in September. Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara charged seven others in relation to the pay-to-play plot, whom a grand jury also indicted. They include the onetime honcho of State University of New York Polytchnic Institute, as well as six execs from prominent Upstate firms. Todd Howe, another Cuomo confidant-turned-lobbyist, secretly copped to corruption charges two days before cops collared Percoco...

The election of Donald Trump has, at least according to some, produced a spike in so called “hate crimes” around the nation. Others find reason to doubt this, citing instances which turn out to be hoaxes or staged events by liberals, or simply a left leaning media focus on isolated incidents which blow it all out of proportion. There seems to be little reason to doubt it in the mind of New York’s governor, however. Andrew Cuomo is stepping up to create a special task force to battle this new scourge whether it’s happening or not.

Talk about tempting providence. Hillary Clinton has already organised an Election Night celebration party in New York complete with fireworks which would kick off only 30 minutes after the polls close. The New York Fire Department and the NYPD have both been notified in advance of plans for a pyrotechnic display launched from a barge in the Hudson, just off Manhattan’s Javits Center next Tuesday night. The New York Post says the two-minute fireworks display could start as early as 9.30pm local time, only 30 minutes after the polls close in New York and hours before voters cast their final...

Donald Trump emerged from Trump Tower just moments ago to greet the crowd of supporters that have gathered throughout the day in support of his candidacy despite the backlash he is receiving from a leaked audio tape that is damning to his campaign. Although many GOP leaders have called for Trump to step down just 31 days before the general election, a group of his supporters gathered in Manhattan Saturday outside Trump Tower, where top campaign officials and surrogates met throughout the day. Just one day ahead of the Clinton v. Trump debate in St. Louis, the campaign efforts have...

Days after killing himself, a vocal advocate for gun rights and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has won a New York primary election. Assemblyman Bill Nojay was facing a fraud trial in Cambodia and reportedly under FBI scrutiny when he went to his family's cemetery plot in Rochester and shot himself in front of an arriving police officer on Friday. Now the defeat Tuesday of challenger Richard Milne coupled with a quirk in state election law means that local GOP leaders, who encouraged voters to choose Nojay despite his death, get to pick someone to take on Democrat Barbara Baer...
