The identities of the 10 Republicans likely to be on stage at Thursday’s presidential debate are coming into focus after another poll on Monday shows Donald Trump running away from the rest of the field and Rick Perry lagging behind his competitors for the final spot. A new Monmouth University poll has Trump at 26 percent, easily topping his competitors. The next-closest candidates — former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker — are at 12 percent and 11 percent, respectively. Both the new Monmouth survey and an average of the five most-recent live-caller polls — Fox News’...

As he prepares for a major police conference, Commissioner Bratton told it like it is about the rise in shootings in the city and he's warning that this disturbing trend must be put in check before it’s too late. It was a weekend of gun violence that sadly; no one believes it will be the last. In East New York, 9 people were shot and wounded at a barbecue. And in the Bronx, 20 year-old Christian Garcia was shot and killed, and 2 others struck when a gunman opened fire in a children's playground. Speaking on a radio show, Commissioner...

Melissa Mejia, 18, was stunned and embarrassed when officials at William Cullen Bryant HS in Long Island City, Queens, told her she had met all the requirements to receive a diploma in June. She knew she hadn’t. Teachers say Melissa is just one of a number of students magically given credits for classes they failed in an effort by administrators to raise Bryant’s graduation rate. She told her story to The Post’s Susan Edelman. I don’t like receiving what I would call a handout, but that’s what happened. New York City gave me a diploma I didn’t deserve

This week on “Fox News Sunday With Chris Wallace ” Republican presidential candidate former Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) said he will “not be quiet” when it comes to criticizing his rival Donald Trump. Perry said, “I’m not going to be quiet, when Donald Trump shoots a bullet through Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)43% and hits veterans particularly those that have been captured. I’ll challenge Donald trump. You go tell Marcus Luttrell who was captured by the Taliban that he doesn’t like being around people that have been captured. That is one of the low moments of this campaign from my perspective....

...The dentist, Walter Palmer, has been in hiding since word of the kill was reported in the media last week. Nugent, appearing Sunday on "The Rita Cosby Show" on WABC in New York, said he is dubious of media reports that the lion was lured out of a sanctuary because of the number of untrue statements the media has made about him in the past. If he could talk to Palmer, Nugent said, "I would say I'm sorry that our society has become so dumbed down and so soul-less, as to threaten you and your family's lives, because you killed...

However, 25 years later the themes of this film still resonate with Trump's character. A quarter of a century later, here it is. In 1988, Leonard Stern commissioned the film as part of a celebrity businessman series. Here's a Huffington Post piece about the documentary by its original writer, and here's the press release announcing the online debut-it appears that the film covers some allegations... Trump grew wealthy during the 80's, the start of the "me generation" of moneymakers, and the "decade of greed". In it, he was revealed to be "the opposite of a small-government conservative" and someone who'd...

Excerpted from Biz Pac Review: Conservative author and columnist Ann Coulter hints that she may be vying for a position in a future Donald Trump administration — as secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. As evidenced by her latest book, “Adios, America: The Left’s Plan to Turn Our Country into a Third World Hellhole,” Coulter, liker Trump, is strongly against illegal immigration and would run a much tighter ship than Jeh Johnson, the current DHS chief. She made her remarks at the Eagle Forum’s Collegian Summit in Washington, D.C., where she remarked that the real estate billionaire is “more likely...

WASHINGTON (CNN) —The frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination is a former pro-choice Democrat who once supported Canadian-style universal health care, tax hikes on the wealthy and said Hillary Clinton was "terrific." As he prepares for the first GOP debate of the election season next week, Donald Trump is disavowing many of his former positions and earning support from about one in every five Republicans through a combination of blustering rhetoric and dogged condemnation of the political class. Now, the question is whether Trump's lead will hold up against the gust of attacks -- and charges of hypocrisy -- he...

A Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll, previewed on Sunday, found Trump in front with 19 percent. Two months ago, before his official announcement, Trump was at a mere 1 percent. That's because people didn't believe he would really run, Trump said Sunday on "Meet the Press" "They didn't want to waste poll votes," Trump told NBC's Chuck Todd. "Once I announced, as you probably know better than anybody, my poll numbers started to shoot up like a rocket ship. They continue to go up." Appearing on "Face the Nation," Trump said he might be willing to release his tax returns...

State Department investigators concluded this year that Huma Abedin, one of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s closest aides, was overpaid by nearly $10,000 because of violations of rules governing vacation and sick leave during her tenure as an official in the department. The finding — which Abedin has formally contested — emerged publicly Friday after Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa) sent letters to Secretary of State John F. Kerry and others seeking more information about an investigation into possible “criminal” conduct by Abedin concerning her pay. The letters also sought the status of an inquiry into whether Abedin had violated conflict-of-interest laws...

The liberal media feeding frenzy about a quarter-century-old alleged marital rape involving GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump, and former wife Ivana, has a fury that was strangely absent when Bill Clinton was credibly accused of rape by Juanita Broaddrick in a Little Rock hotel room in 1978 when William Jefferson Clinton was attorney general of Arkansas. Ivana says her alleged “rape” never happened, Juanita Broaddrick says hers did. So why aren’t Hillary and Bill being peppered with questions about it as Donald and Ivana are? Perhaps because unlike liberal nemesis Trump’s case, Clinton’s more credidble story is now considered “old...

A former national security adviser to President Bill Clinton wrote an email to Hillary Clinton in 2009 advising the then-secretary of state how to deal with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he continued to “be the obstacle” in negotiations with Palestinians. The email from Samuel Berger advised Clinton on how to navigate the waters with Netanyahu and Palestinian leader Abu Mazen. “Going forward, if Bibi continues to be the obstacle, you will need to find the ground from which you can make his politics uneasy,” the September 22 email said. “I think you can do that even with current...

Donald Trump is taking the 2016 Presidential campaign by storm! Trump, who would be a bold defender of conservative principles in the White House, announced on Twitter who is pick for Attorney General is. His choice is South Carolina conservative Rep. Trey Gowdy (R), who continues to Chair the U.S. House of Representative’s Select Committee on Benghazi. Gowdy has been a consistent thorn in the side of the Obama administration, exposing the White House’s incompetence on issues ranging from amnesty, IRS abuses, and the illegal deletion of then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails. As Trump tweeted, “@HillaryClinton’s toast. Dems had...

Former SC Democratic party chair Dick Harpootlian told MSNBC’s Steve Kornacki Sunday Vice President Joe Biden’s consideration of a presidential run actually gives Democrats the best chance of retaining the White House in 2016. Harpootlian said Hillary Clinton’s track record will cause her and the Democrats to “die a death of a thousand cuts,” yet Biden is “an inspirational figure” that voters can rally around. HARPOOTLIAN: I think Hillary comes into the race, as she did in ’08 with all kinds of baggage… There’s going to be distractions, we saw just this week with the Wall Street Journal about payments...
