After leading the San Francisco 49ers to consecutive NFC championship games and one Super Bowl, Colin Kaepernick was rewarded with a "record" seven-year, $126 million contract in 2014. But after three seasons of declining production, including one season of headlines surrounding his protest of the national anthem, we got to see that the contract was not nearly as big as everybody made it out to be at the time, and in the end he received only $39.4 million. The contract gave Kaepernick a $12.3 million signing bonus and a 2014 salary of just $645,000.

Several players plan protests following violence in Charlottesville Colin Kaepernick still without a team after protest last season Bennett says protest is not a sign of disrespect for military The day after Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch sat out the national anthem, his former team-mate Michael Bennett has followed his lead. The Seattle Seahawks defensive end, who is known for his strong views, sat with a towel draped over his head during the anthem before Sunday’s game against the Los Chargers. Bennett said he plans to continue the protest for the rest of the season, and his stance was...

I’ve kept my peace on this subject, but you can refer to my original comments on the issue of Colin Kaepernick from last year’s football season. But now I hear there’s a petition of folks who are planning to boycott the NFL if Colin Kaepernick doesn’t get picked up by a football team. This is typical of the left who only operates in the world of intimidation, coercion, and violence … threats. So now the progressive socialist left wants to coerce and intimidate a private sector business into accepting one of their chuckleheads. Here’s the bottom line: Colin Kaepernick utilized his...

GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Raiders weren’t going to take any chances, so coach Jack Del Rio only used two offensive starters in Saturday night’s preseason-opening 20-10 loss to the Cardinals. Not only did quarterback Derek Carr, receivers Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree and running back Marshawn Lynch sit this one out, but Lynch sat on the bench during the national anthem.....

The Oakland Raiders did not figure to risk injury to any of their star or front-line players in their preseason opener Saturday night, and they stayed true to that summation. It did not exactly go well for them in a 20-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale, Arizona. Even if the erstwhile Beast Mode suited up but did not play, he may have made the most news. In his return to the NFL, Lynch sat during the national anthem. In an apparent protest reminiscent of Colin Kaepernick’s last season to bring attention to racism and police brutality, Lynch remained...

Skip Bayless and 100,000 Change.com signers are calling for a boycott of games this NFL season if Colin Kaepernick isn't signed. Director Spike Lee is planning a pro-Colin rally in front of NFL headquarters on August 24. Kapernick, the seven-year veteran quarterback, caused controversy last year by remaining seated or kneeling during the National Anthem, declaring, "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color." He choose to opt out of his contract with San Francisco in March and has remained unemployed since.

It looks like the movement started by Colin Kaepernick last season isn't going to end during the 2017 season just because he's out of football. Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins revealed this week that he'll be protesting during the national anthem again in 2017 after also protesting in 2016. Like Kaepernick, Jenkins will be protesting racial injustice and police brutality against minorities. However, unlike Kaepernick, Jenkins won't be kneeling during the national anthem. Instead, the Eagles safety raises a fist over his head, like he did during Philadelphia's opening preseason game Thursday against the Packers. Jenkins released a lengthy statement this...

Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys was notified today by the NFL that he will be suspended without pay for the team's first six 2017 regular-season games for violating the league's Personal Conduct Policy. Over the course of the last year, the league conducted an extensive investigation. League investigators interviewed more than a dozen witnesses, including Ms. Tiffany Thompson, who had alleged multiple instances of physical violence in July 2016, and Mr. Elliott. The league also consulted with medical experts. League investigators examined all available evidence, including photographic and digital evidence, thousands of text messages and other records of electronic...

Colin Kaepernick is still a free agent, and an NFL inside source told The Daily Caller Monday that the former 49ers quarterback has no one but himself to blame. Despite the ongoing narrative that Kaepernick’s very public political views are preventing any NFL teams from offering him a roster spot, TheDC’s source claims Kaep himself has turned down at least one contract in the hopes of stirring up a media frenzy that eventually leads to a more lucrative deal for the 27 year old vet.

Beefore coaxing veteran quarterback Jay Cutler out of retirement this weekend, the Miami Dolphins reportedly considered a number of other options after starter Ryan Tannehill re-injured his left knee during practice last week. One of those options was Tim Tebow, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald. It actually kind of makes sense. Cutler is seen as a natural choice for Miami coach Adam Gase, who was Cutler’s offensive coordinator in Chicago during the 2015 season. That ended up being one of Cutler’s best statistical years — he threw for 3,659 yards while completing 64.4% of his passes with...

Black residents of Irvine? They’re virtually nonexistent. Yet, even if Mebane had known the African-American population in Irvine was 1.8 percent, he wouldn’t have been concerned. He was a football player with multiple multimillion-dollar contracts behind him. “For us,” Mebane said, “it was just find the right place where we would be comfortable.” The signs that renting a home in Irvine could be a problem came early. Mebane’s Realtor took him and his wife to several homes, only to face icy receptions. During one visit, Mebane extended his hand to greet an owner who extended his in return — while...
  • Confirmed: NFL Fans Tuned Out of Games Last Year Because Players Protested the National Anthem

The NFL took a massive ratings dive last year after a number of players, led by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, refused to stand for the National Anthem. At the time, NFL officials claimed they didn't exactly know why ratings were down and even used the 2016 presidential election as an excuse for why more people weren't watching. But according to a new survey from J.D. Power, NFL fans did in fact tune out in droves because of the disrespect and protest of the National Anthem before games. From ESPN: National anthem protests were the top reason that...

Colin Kaepernick is likely being blackballed, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. There have been plenty of other reasons and excuses provided by NFL teams to explain why the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback is still a free agent, but Kaepernick’s protests from the 2016 season loom large. In a Thursday morning appearance on ESPN Radio’s Mike and Mike, Adam Schefter said he believes that NFL owners have tried to keep coaches and front-office personnel from going after Kaepernick. “Do I think that certain owners have blocked teams from visits or interest? I do, I do believe that,” Schefter said. “And...
