With the pubic distracted by the FBI battling Apple for an iPhone backdoor, President Obama is secretly working to trash President Ronald Reagan’s restrictions on the number of federal agencies that can spy on Americans and others. At a secret meeting of the United States National Security Council on Feb 25, President Obama approved a draft 21-page memo relaxing a Cold War Reagan-era directive called Executive Order 12333 that restricted the number of government agencies that can access, without court order or Presidential approval, the contents of phone calls, emails and data the U.S. National Security Agency vacuums up from...

And so, just like that, with a sweeping victory in South Carolina, Sanders' Socialism crawls back into its cage and crony capitalism is alive and well. As Edward Snowden so perfectly sums up... .

This week the presidential election campaign is turning into an ugly cage match. The Internet is full of charges and countercharges, many of which are demonstrably false and certainly posted by paid operatives. You can cluck and frown but there’s a pot of gold at the end of this rainbow as the blog Michelle Obama’s Mirror notes. it appears there will once again be a parade of celebrities leaving the country if Trump wins. This time the émigrés will include Whoopie Goldberg and Al Sharpton. I fail to see the downside. Here’s my favorite “declaration” -- from Raven-Symonè, who I...

High-ranking federal officials are being held in contempt of court for using invalidated reports to support a Shoshone National Forest prohibition against packgoats. U.S. District Court Judge Lynn Winmill ruled Tuesday that the U.S. Forest Service disregarded 2009 court orders that threw out Payette National Forest reports on disease transmission between bighorn sheep and domestic sheep.

This thread is about the 2016 Presdidentail Primary Data I have accumulated to date. I have been tracking it since September 1st, and am now set up to track specifically by the vote, and not including non-viote polls any longer. We will let the vote itself tell us what we need to know. Here's the table with the raw numbers: I have established four charts for the GOP and four for the DNC. They incvlude the following for each: -State by State percentage of the Vote -Overall average fo the total Vote -Cumulative Vote Mumbers -Cumulative Delegate Count (including Super...

In a 1990 Playboy interview, Trump has unexpected support for the Chinese response to the Tiananmen Square uprising. Trump also had some withering criticism of the Soviet Union’s former leader Mikhail Gorbachev for not being “firm” enough. Here’s a transcript: What were your other impressions of the Soviet Union?I was very unimpressed. Their system is a disaster. What you will see there soon is a revolution; the signs are all there with the demonstrations and picketing. Russia is out of control and the leadership knows it. That’s my problem with Gorbachev. Not a firm enough hand. You mean firm hand...

The nation's military would most likely disobey Donald Trump if he instituted such campaign promises as torturing suspected terrorists and killing family members if he were to become president, retired Air Force Gen. Michael Hayden said. "If he were to order that once in government, the American armed forces would refuse to act," Hayden Friday told HBO talk-show host Bill Maher. Hayden once directed both the CIA and the National Security Agency. "You’re required not to follow an unlawful order," he told Maher. "That would be in violation of all the international laws of armed conflict.

NEW YORK - Donald Trump implied Saturday that a lawsuit over the now-defunct Trump University filed against him by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman may have been a conspiracy involving President Barack Obama. CBS New York reported the Republican front-runner railed against the California judge presiding over the civil suit, calling him hostile and noting his Hispanic ethnicity.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) emphatically denounced the IRS this week in a Heritage Foundation speech, saying that that the agency doesn't need to be reformed, it needs to be "abolished." -snip- “As we have seen the weaponization of the IRS, as we have seen the Obama administration using the IRS in a partisan manner to punish its political enemies.”

Australia bought its Tiger ARH attack helicopters only eight years ago, and now it wants to scrap all 22 of them. Even more embarrassing, the Tiger has still not yet achieved “final operational capability” — meaning the helicopter never fully became ready for combat. The decision to ditch the Tiger — to occur in the 2020s — landed with a thud with the release of Australia’s 2016 defense white paper, which laid out the country’s military strategy over the coming decades. The plan includes U.S. $21.5 billion in new spending, which would pay for new submarines, frigates, patrol vessels, aircraft...

The Center For Disease Control has released a detailed report regarding causes of death, using data from 2013. The report was released on February 16th, and nearly a week later, no mention of it by Bloomberg’s Everytown For Gun Safety, which is the research and PAC wing of his gun control efforts. There’s a reason for the silence. They don’t want you to know that gun related homicide doesn’t even crack the top 15 causes of death in America.

The stadium has seating for 5,000 and has never held an event with over 8,000 attendees with parking for 1,000 vehicles. Maj. Jim Cooke with the Madison police told AL.com the huge expected crowd for the Trump rally is a logistics nightmare: “I don’t think you could have picked a worse location for this number of people. …I’m about as frustrated as I can get,” Cooke said. “I never imagined that I would be notified at 10 minutes after 5 on Thursday afternoon that we needed to plan for an event that takes three weeks to properly plan. We’ll figure...

Ted Cruz speculated on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that Donald Trump may be hesitant to release his tax returns because of “Donald's business dealings with the mob, with the mafia.” “ABC, CNN, multiple news reports have reported about his some dealings with, for example, S&A Construction, which was owned by 'Fat Tony' Salerno, who is a mobster who is in jail,” Cruz said Sunday morning. “Maybe his taxes show those business dealings are a lot more extensive than has been reported.”
