Newt Gingrich went on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo.
Newt tweeted this out to the GOP establishment on Friday after Chris Christie endorsed Donald Trump.
Today Newt told Maria it’s time for the GOP to wrap its arms around Donald Trump as the GOP nominee.
Newt Gingrich: I thought it was very impressive both that Chris Christie endorsed him and the way he endorsed him and the things he said… I think it’s actually healthy to go for another couple of weeks but all this talk about stop Trump, Super PACs and all out assaults on Trump’s character, and so, these are nonsense. Governor LePage of Maine has also now endorsed Donald Trump. And I think is that these are both northeastern governors. So this is not a right-left kind of fight in the traditional sense. This is about people who want to dramatically change Washington.

Yes... I watched all of the debates when Newt was running. No one could touch him. He would be excellent in educating Trump of how to navigate Washington. Trump is a political neophyte, but he’s not stupid.

At this point, I don’t think it will matter. If Trump wants to raise money in November directly from the voters, he’ll do it, and have no problem pulling in the money. If Trump wants to spend some of his own, he can of course do that.
The ONLY REASON for the GOPe to give Trump money is so that there will be a chance that Trump returns some of their phone calls when he’s in the White House - and they sure as hell BETTER START BEHAVING if they want that, money or not.
They are not giving up easily. They’ve got Cruz and Rubio acting and looking like crazy little wooden puppets. All they need are the suspenders and caps
The GOP fights Trump at its own peril now. The people want to speak, they are and they will continue.

I would like to hear what Newt would say about Rush’s statement.
“Trump is gonna be the nominee. Right? And then you have to figure Christie wants a job. I mean, he’d love to be in the regime, the Trump Regime, maybe VP, maybe attorney general.”
USUALLY, Rush uses the word regime referring to 0 and other dictators until he joined the massive assault by every faction of the media and Establishment to take Trump out.
