Obama to Trash Reagan’s Restrictions on Domestic Spying
Breitbart ^ | 2/28/16 | Chriss W. Street

Posted on 02/28/2016 10:00:42 AM PST by Nachum

With the pubic distracted by the FBI battling Apple for an iPhone backdoor, President Obama is secretly working to trash President Ronald Reagan’s restrictions on the number of federal agencies that can spy on Americans and others.

At a secret meeting of the United States National Security Council on Feb 25, President Obama approved a draft 21-page memo relaxing a Cold War Reagan-era directive called Executive Order 12333 that restricted the number of government agencies that can access, without court order or Presidential approval, the contents of phone calls, emails and data the U.S. National Security Agency vacuums up from around the world.

The new Obama memo would allow numerous federal agencies to share bulk data from satellites, foreign communications crossing U.S. network switches, messages acquired overseas, and data shared by American allies, according to the New York Times.

Sources indicate that the Obama administration initiative is being described as giving a number of U.S. government agencies direct access to the broad spectrum of electronic intercepts in the “hope that that they will recognize any possible nuggets of value.”

But the change will also mean that more officials will be looking at the raw data in private messages. Not only would that include foreigners’ phone calls and emails, but also communications to, from, or about Americans that the NSA’s foreign intelligence programs swept in “incidentally.”

The ONLY enemy Obama acknowledges is conservative American citizens.

Of course he wants to spy on us... He and Hillary are creepy totalitarians at heart...

I’m sure there are brave souls in the House or Senate who will stand up to him

Also, you can’t tell me Trump isn’t aware of this. He should be screaming about it. He has advisors who are savvy to this.

The real target of this is domestic political opposition, not any foreign bad guys.
I still have fresh memories of the DHS and West Point saying that conservatives are “terrorists”, and that soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan were also “ terrorists “.

You've got to be kidding.

Trump already said he is for more government snooping and will "err on the side of safety" and not on the side of personal privacy.

He also said we should boycott Apple because they make phones the government can't break into.

People should read up on what their candidates actually say, not what they hope they say.

He's obviously confident that the machinery for extortion of the citizenry is firmly in place.

Why stop with Reagan? Obama should tell us how he despises Jefferson, Madison and all those other slave owners from the 1700’s and the disgusting documents they left us with that have kept him from truly and permanently transforming the USA. He probably can’t afford to be that honest for another 11 months.

I wonder if this applies to spying on this year’s presidential candidates, and supporters, and campaign managers, and family, and debate moderators, and the people who run elections & count votes.

Actually, I’m sure it does apply. I wonder how much consideration that aspect has had.

The welfare state is impossible without the warfare state and massive surveillance. They are two sides of the same coin. We all know the Left is against civil liberties in the name of the collective.

Our anger is ‘irrational’ and/or ‘misplaced’, right?

Will the wet noodle Congress be holding hearings? As soon as they get back from the massage parlors.

Any Trump supporters want to address this?
Privacy is critical and so is national security. I hope he didn’t fully digest it yet.

Cruz is Mr. TPP so that is bad also.

True enough.  that is why he was a follower of Derrick Bell and his 'Critical Race Theory', of which he supported the complete destruction of America as it was completely racist and had to be destroyed to be rebuilt anew.  And as far as I can see, his entire presidency has been devoted to this task.

A file on Derrick Bell and his devoted follower Obama...
