There was a break-in at Senator Dean Heller’s office in southwest Las Vegas over the weekend and the GOP’s health-care bill seems to have inspired it. Considered a key swing vote on the Senate bill, Heller initially expressed reservations about its Medicaid cuts but hasn’t said much about the latest revised version. According to one report, his vote is likely to be “bought,” giving Republicans enough “yeas” to push the bill through. One person in Nevada wants to make sure Heller remains opposed to the bill and went about it in about the worst possible way, breaking into his office...

With the jury selection process underway this week for the second Bunkerville Standoff trial in Las Vegas, Attorney General Jeff Sessions was at the federal courthouse today in Las Vegas. Courtroom observer and wife of one of the defendants on trial for the second time in the case, Andrea Parker, heard Sessions praise the way the prosecution is leading the case and then say he was not taking sides in the case. So she has limited our defense and limited the questions that we can ask the jurors....we couldn't ask any questions about the Constitution, the First Amendment, the Second Amendment...... A House committee voted overwhelmingly Wednesday to advance a bill meant to move along the stalled Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository in Nevada. The legislation would set a time limit for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to approve the project and makes a necessary land transfer for the project. CARSON CITY — A Carson City district court judge on Tuesday refused to dismiss a lawsuit brought by liquor distributors against the Department of Taxation over the distribution of recreational marijuana to pot dispensaries.
