According to police, 36-year-old Michael Antoine Jackson was pronounced dead on the scene. His father said he was sleeping when he heard approximately 13 gunshots from the second floor apartment. "I heard the shots go off," said Grant Jackson Jr., the victim's father. "Then I looked out the window and, you know, it was about 13 altogether, so I fell on the floor. When I got back up, after the shots was gone, I seen somebody in all this black running down the street, and when I looked down on the ground, I seen my son."

It’s been nearly a week since Nation of Islam Leader Louis Farrakhan called on his followers to rise up and kill their perceived enemies, and the silence of the Obama Justice Department has been deafening. Likewise, the MSM has been shamefully quiet, too — as if this is acceptable behavior for the leader of a 50,000-strong denomination. It most certainly isn’t. Farrakhan’s shocking words came during a July 30 speech at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Miami: “The Koran teaches persecution is worse than slaughter. Then it says, retaliation is prescribed in matters of the slain. Retaliation is a prescription...

“I would hold them as an accomplice. Make them criminally culpable.” Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal told Boston Herald Radio on Monday morning that mayors of sanctuary cities should be arrested. “Absolutely, I would hold them as an accomplice. Make them criminally culpable,” the Republican presidential candidate said when asked if he’d arrest mayors of sanctuary cities . “I’d also make them civilly liable so that families, victim’s families could sue.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, a 2016 GOP presidential candidate, is calling on mayors of sanctuary cities to be arrested as accomplices to the crimes illegal aliens receiving special treatment in their cities commit. “Absolutely, I would hold them as an accomplice,” Jindal said on Boston Herald Radio on Monday morning, as reported by BuzzFeed, Jindal said of mayors of sanctuary cities. “Make them criminally culpable. I’d also make them civilly liable so that families, victims’ families could sue. Especially if the prosecutor isn’t taking action or the mayor’s not changing their ways, I’d allow the families to go to court...

The current Sheriff is Scott Israel; he was elected to office in November 2012. As Sheriff, Israel has made it a point to reach out to diverse crowds, including those who could be considered enemies of the U.S. and her allies. Broward Sheriff Scott Israel’s 2015 radical Muslim tour began this past January, when he posed for photos with Sofian Abdelaziz Zakkout and a member of Zakkout’s Miami-based AMANA group at a local mosque. Zakkout is a big supporter of Hamas. On his Facebook page, one can find Hamas logos and photos of Hamas militants and leaders, including Hamas founders Ahmed Yassin and...

Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush said Wednesday that blocking federal police money to cities that harbor immigrants in the U.S. illegally would be a way to corral those who have committed crimes. During a campaign event at a VFW hall in southern New Hampshire, Bush said it's not inconsistent for him to support allowing immigrants who overstayed visas to pursue activities that allow them to remain in the U.S., while also stepping up policies to root out criminal offenders who are also immigrants. "We ought to eliminate sanctuary cities," Bush told more than 300 people at an evening town hall...

A Miami man who claims to be a “sovereign citizen” must serve a whopping 485 years in prison for repeatedly raping a 16-year-old and forcing her to cut herself as a form of punishment. A judge this week handed down the sentence for E-Yage Bowens, a 40-year-old salesman who insisted that he was immune from U.S. laws. At one pretrial hearing, Bowens represented himself and even cross-examined the teenage victim, an honors student who is now bound for college on a scholarship. At trial in May, jurors took less than three hours to convict Bowens of sexual battery and child...

During his eight years as Florida governor, Jeb Bush increasingly pushed for broader acceptance of immigrants living in the United States illegally, and disagreed with Florida voters and Republican leaders who opposed any expansion of such immigrants' rights, according to more than 350,000 emails received after public document requests. On border security and deportations, the governor advocated "whatever it takes," but he also supported driver's licenses, in-state tuition and work visas for immigrants in the U.S. illegally. The emails document Bush's exchanges with supporters, aides and citizens. Personal and political emails were excluded from the release.

The confrontation unfolded Saturday night when a Miami police officer saw Rabasa — clad only in boxer shorts — wielding a knife on the street near Southwest 22nd Avenue and First Street. According to Miami police, the man ran toward the officer, who then locked himself in his patrol car and called for backup.

Neglect and abandonment landed the girl in foster care. But it’s what happened next, she said, that nearly destroyed her. In a hushed courtroom in Miami’s gleaming new downtown Children’s Courthouse, a teenage foster child inventoried the traumas she had endured at the hands of those who were assigned to protect her: She had been starved and beaten, molested and forced to fight during her two years in foster homes and group care. As a runaway, she was trafficked into prostitution. And, just as her life appeared to be mending, the girl was raped by a driver in whose care...

The complaint was filed in federal court in Miami, Florida (Case No. 15-cv-22452). It had been nearly 400 days since Jose Fernandez stepped onto the mound in a major league game. The long road to get back from Tommy John surgery was trying but ultimately inspiring. Appropriatedly, so his triumphant return to the Marlins in a rollicking matinee revival Thursday at Marlins Park. After a slow start, the charismatic Cuban not only resurrected the magic of his Rookie of the Year 2013 season, he contributed an uplifting home run that sent the Marlins on course for a 5-4 victory that concluded a three-game sweep of the defending World Series champions. Fernandez, now 13-0...

The Trump Hotel Collection, a string of luxury hotel properties tied to business magnate and now Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, appears to be the latest victim of a credit card breach, according to data shared by several U.S.-based banks. Contacted regarding reports from sources at several banks who traced a pattern of fraudulent debit and credit card charges to accounts that had all been used at Trump hotels, the company declined multiple requests for comment. But sources in the financial industry say they have little doubt that Trump properties in several U.S. locations — including Chicago, Honolulu, Las Vegas,...

There's a war on cops going on and there's also a war against those who dare to defend them.In case you've missed it, there's yet another controversy over how police handled a group of rowdy teenagers at a pool party in McKinney, Texas. After repeatedly asking a young black woman to leave the area, a white police officer (because every time a white police officer does anything to a black person it's racist, you know) threw her to the ground in an attempt to conduct an arrest. When two of the woman's male friends ran up behind the officer, he...

Word on the street is Miami Dolphins reserve defensive tackle A.J. Francis has good acceleration, an excellent motor and a high ceiling in his 2014 Dodge Charger. He's an Uber driver. Francis is under contract to earn $510,000 this year in his third NFL season, but paychecks don't start coming until July, and it's uncertain he'll make the team. He wanted some extra spending money, so in April he became a driver for hire with Uber, making $40 to $50 an hour. "I'm not putting all my eggs in one basket," Francis said following the Dolphins' offseason practice Monday. "Where...

Of all the people I know in the world of political commentary, Ann Coulter is the most un-ransomable captive to truth, in-depth-study of facts, consequences and her Daughters of The Revolution passion for America. The other week, I traveled to Miami with Ann for her debate with Jorge Ramos, of Univision TV, over her new book, "Adios America." She'd crawled out of her sickbed to keep that date. I know, because I was the pal who for days dashed back and forth with the raw ginger, mango juice, Alka-Seltzer Plus/Nightime, cases of water, various lozenges and prescriptions from CVS. It...
