Authorities say a pig found in a swimming pool at a home in Broward County, bleeding, while being harassed by two pit bulls has undergone emergency surgery.
The Miami Herald reports Pembroke Pines police say the pig and the pit bulls got loose outside the home Friday evening. Police say they are now investigating whether to file criminal charges against an unidentified homeowner who owns all three animals.
Police and Broward County Animal Control found the injured pig in the backyard pool, with the pit bulls nearby.
Police say the pig was rushed to an animal hospital. Dr. Ira Zaslow of Lauderdale Veterinary Specialists says the pig is expected to make a full recovery.
Police say the two pit bulls were taken into custody by animal control.

Pig was rushed to a hot drum smoker. He’s expected to be fine...with some good sauce and a side of slaw!
Surgery? It’s a whole lot cheaper (and tastier) to just stick an apple or a yam in the pig’s mouth, and add:
Kosher salt and cracked black pepper
1/2 cup chopped garlic
1/2 cup finely chopped parsley
1/4 cup chopped fresh thyme
Salt and fine black pepper
3 bay leaves
2 tablespoons cumin
2 cups julienne onions
6 oranges, halved
3 limes, halved
3 lemons, halved
1/2 cup olive oil
1 cup white wine
I think a couple of those pig would have been able to take on a pit bull.
And if it could get itself backed in to a corner might have taken on two and won.
Pigs can be fast and mean with nasty teeth.

I also was told some Pigs are alot smarter than dogs, do you know if that is true?
Now there is a pig who should have been taken down by a couple of pit bulls.
I am sure THAT is what the dogs were thinking.
We were fishing in the middle of Galveston Bay when we came upon a female pig and her 2 babies. They had probably been chased into the water by dogs,wolves or coyotes. Mom was clearly lost and swimming in circles and out of sight of land. We brought the babies into our boat, saving them from drowning. We gave them to a FFA student and our story made the local papers.
