Strong performances and character development balance out the soapy sex and romance nicely, creating a thoroughly bingeable and enjoyable series.Prepare to swoon over Netflix’s new Regency romance, filled to the brim with dashing rogues, charming innocents, gorgeous costumes, and scandals galore. “Bridgerton” follows a well-tread story, where the naive virgin and the brooding bad boy pretend to be in love in order to achieve their individual goals, only for genuine interest and affection to grow from the ruse. However, with likable characters, gorgeous production design, and a mysterious writer documenting the characters’ every move in deliciously scandalous fashion, the clichéd...

This has been a closely watched case in New Hampshire, both in terms of free speech and gender discrimination. (And I don’t mean “closely watched†just because it involves topless women.) Three Granite State ladies, Heidi Lilley, Kia Sinclair and Ginger Pierro, were arrested in 2016 for going topless at a local beach and refusing to cover up after other bathers complained. They were subsequently convicted of violating a local indecent exposure law. Their initial appeals were rejected and now the state’s highest court has agreed with the previous judges and declared that the conviction was not a violation...

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) Can somebody tell me why I still watch these things? – The NFL almost pulled off what I had always assumed was the utterly impossible last night, staging a Super Bowl game that was very nearly as boring and tedious as a damn soccer match. Yes, yes, yes, I know – it was a “great defensive battle,” right? Spare me, please. It was a game in which LA Rams quarterback Jared Goff played worse than any Super Bowl QB since at least Billy Kilmer and really since Joe Kapp in Super Bowl...

FULL HEADER: "Maroon 5 frontman hints Superbowl show will be hip-hop kneeling fest. Fox News offers alternative for halftime." Proud, flag-loving patriots who hate seeing the American flag be disrespected may have no other option but to tune out of the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show. The show has been mired in controversy because of a concerted effort by radical far-left activists to stop any artist from performing at the event. To them, any performance would be a slap in the face to unemployed former NFL quarterback and continued race-baiting agitator Colin Kaepernick. Thankfully, some artists resisted the pressure and...

The controversy surrounding Super Bowl LIII’s halftime show continues, as Colin Kaepernick’s attorney Mark Geragos called Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine’s rationalization on his participation “a cop out.” Speaking on Good Morning America on Friday, Geragos called on Levine to admit what he’s doing by appearing in the NFL Super Bowl halftime. “If you’re going to cross this idealogical or intellectual picket line, then own it, and Adam Levine certainly isn’t owning it,” Geragos said. “It’s a cop-out when you start talking about, ‘I’m not a politician; I’m just doing the music.’ Most of the musicians who have any kind...

The US Super Bowl halftime show, one of pop music's most visible gigs, this year went from highly coveted to largely unwanted, leaving the NFL scrambling for takers as a cultural firestorm over social justice rages.

Prominent artists including Rihanna, P!nk and Cardi B reportedly turned down the offer to headline Sunday's championship game between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams, amid the controversy over racially charged police brutality protests spearheaded by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

Jay-Z isn't the only person upset with Travis Scott for agreeing to perform with Maroon 5 at the 2019 Super Bowl halftime show. Rev. Al Sharpton slammed Scott, claiming that Scott essentially turned his back on the Black Lives Matter movement and police brutality against people of color by agreeing to perform at the NFL's biggest night. "I think anyone that goes into the halftime show is in effect directly violating those that want to raise the question that the NFL should come to terms with what they have done and continue to do to Colin Kaepernick and those that...

Who would have thought that the Super Bowl Halftime show, an American institution watched by more than 100 million people, would become the least wanted gig in music? But thanks to the ongoing controversy concerning the NFL’s stance on a player’s right to protest, brought to the forefront by football’s top conscientious objector Colin Kaepernick, Maroon 5 are learning the precarious stance that the performance represents. According to sources, the band has reached out to more than a half-dozen stars to appear as featured guests during the 13-minute slot midway through Super Bowl LIII, but so far, none have agreed...

And while Maroon 5 is known for usually having some pretty insane music videos, this may just be one of their most buzz-worthy yet. Maroon 5 are the latest band to cancel shows in North Carolina because of the state's anti-LGBT bill. "We have announced that we will be canceling our upcoming shows in Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina because of the recent passage of the HB2 legislation," the band said in a statement on their website. "This was a difficult decision for us to make as a band. We don't want to penalize our fans in North Carolina by not performing for them, but in the end it comes down to what we feel is morally right."
