RUSH: “Climate Change is Killing Us Right Now.” This is a story I’ve been holding onto. It’s a week old, July 20th, New Republic, Emily Atkin is the infobabe that wrote it. And it’s typical. The New Republic is a respected Journal of liberal opinion. By the way, Algore’s got his sequel to An Inconvenient Lie, whatever it is. And CNN is doing a town hall meeting and discussion with Algore on Tuesday night, and it’s all psychobabble. It is all propaganda I saw one little video clip and I just had to laugh. It’s Algore in a helicopter flying...

Scientists are sucking carbon dioxide from the air with giant fans and preparing to release chemicals from a balloon to dim the sun's rays as part of a climate engineering push to cool the planet. Backers say the risky, often expensive projects are urgently needed to find ways of meeting the goals of the Paris climate deal to curb global warming that researchers blame for causing more heatwaves, downpours and rising sea levels. Climeworks reckons it now costs about $600 to extract a tonne of carbon dioxide from the air and the plant's full capacity due by the end of...

“I thought that there was a chance he would come to his senses,” the former vice president told Stephen Colbert of his meeting with Trump. By Rebecca Shapiro Former Vice President Al Gore says he’s given up hope that President Donald Trump will act on key climate issues. Gore recounted to “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert his optimism after his meeting with Trump to discuss climate change and the landmark Paris Accord. Trump had promised supporters during the campaign that he would pull out of the agreement, arguing it was a “bad deal.” “I went to Trump Tower after the...

Heading into the July 4th weekend, the prospect of forming "a more perfect union" has rarely been this dismal. The Democratic "resistance" - evoking memories of the "underground" opposition to Nazi Germany by western European countries - gets more hysterical by the day. The rhetoric of opposition becomes more unhinged, more violent as Democrats have been stymied by Republicans at the ballot box and in Congress. As this Vox article points out, for many blue states and cities, "resistance" has gone beyond opposition and has entered the surreal world of actually ignoring the foreign policy being made in Washington and...

Al Gore claims he saw Fish from the Swimming in the Streets on a Sunny Day. And the same thing is happening in Honolulu.

President Trump's administration is coming off as "tongue-tied and confused" about climate change because "the truth is still inconvenient" for companies and industries that emit heavy emissions that contribute to global warming, former Vice President Al Gore said. On "This Week" Sunday, Gore was asked by ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos about comments by EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt earlier on the show that it doesn't matter whether the president believes in man-made climate change because the U.S. is still leading by example in the world in its reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. "The administration comes off as tongue-tied and...

Former Vice President Al Gore said Sunday that President Trump ignored science and Mother Nature in pulling out of the Paris climate change accord, saying nightly news reports resemble “a nature hike through the Book of Revelations.” That helps explain the Trump administration’s clumsy explanation for the president’s decision to exit the agreement, said Mr. Gore, who is chairman of the Climate Realty Project and a leading advocate for reducing carbon emissions. “The administration comes off as tongue-tied and confused about the climate crisis because the truth is still inconvenient for the large carbon polluters and they don’t want to...

Former U.S. vice-president Al Gore is warning against massive geoengineering experiments that attempt to reverse climate change, arguing instead that the focus must remain on cutting emissions that are warming the planet. “I don’t think it’s a good idea,” Mr. Gore told the TED Conference in Vancouver. Mr. Gore said such Band-Aids aren’t the solution. “We have to stop the pattern of behaviour that is creating this crisis,” said Mr. Gore, who was not on the TED program, but was called up from the audience. “There is a collision between human civilization as it’s presently organized, and the surprisingly fragile...

In the latest in radical climate doomsaying, a new report warns that fossil fuel consumption will need to be reduced “below a quarter of primary energy supply by 2100” to avoid possibly disastrous effects on global temperatures. In their report, titled “Pathways for balancing CO2 emissions and sinks,” a team of eight scientists warns that “anthropogenic emissions need to peak within the next 10 years, to maintain realistic pathways to meeting the COP21 emissions and warming targets.” The statement was immediately repackaged by environmentalists to read: “Scientists say we have ten years to save the earth.” As is always the...

Monday, on “PBS NewsHour,” while discussing President Donald Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt saying carbon dioxide is not a primary contributor to climate change, environmental activist former Vice President Al Gore said, “We’re seeing every night on the television news now a nature hike through the Book of Revelation.”(snip)

..."He was receptive to some of what I had to say, and I appreciated that," Gore tells THR of his much-observed Dec. 5 rendezvous with the president-elect at Trump Tower. "Candidate Trump made a number of statements and wrote a bunch of tweets that caused concern, but he also has other statements that at least give rise to the possibility that he and his team will take a fresh look at the reality of what we're facing here." In fact, it turns out that even after the meeting in December, Gore and Trump have remained in contact, through more discreet...

The EPA’s highest-paid employee and a leading expert on climate change was sentenced to 32 months in federal prison Wednesday for lying to his bosses and saying he was a CIA spy working in Pakistan so he could avoid doing his real job. John C. Beale’s crimes were “inexplicable” and “unbelievably egregious," said Judge Ellen Huvelle in imposing the sentence in a Washington. D.C. federal court. Beale has also agreed to pay $1.3 million in restitution and forfeiture to the government.

It is this solution, brilliant at the time, that leads us to Brearley’s legacy on climate change. Because over the course of the last 200 plus years, the electoral college, which provides for stronger voting power per person in more rural and less populated states, has elected four U.S. presidents who clearly lost the popular vote (1876, 1888, 2000 and 2016). Two of those elections have occurred during the period in which we have known about the causes and impacts of carbon dioxide emissions and climate change and in both cases, the impacts of those elections have very likely had...

The urgent threat of climate change means there is “no time to despair” over the election of Donald Trump, according to former vice-president Al Gore, who hopes that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton will join an escalated climate campaign against the president-elect. Gore told the Guardian he remained hopeful Trump would reverse some of his positions on climate change but predicted an unprecedented backlash from environmentalists over the next four years.

President-elect Donald Trump met Monday with former Vice President Al Gore and discussed climate change, as the two men with opposing views of the issue sought common ground. After the meeting at Trump Tower in Manhattan, Mr. Gore gave an upbeat assessment of the powwow. "I had a lengthy and very productive session with the president-elect. It was a sincere search for areas of common ground," he told reporters in the lobby. The high-profile meeting raised eyebrows because President-elect Donald Trump has been an outspoken skeptic of climate change and Mr. Gore is one of the world's most prominent advocates...

During a statement on Tuesday, former Vice President Al Gore argued that the Electoral College should be abolished in favor of a popular vote system. Gore said he supported keeping the Electoral College even after the 2000 election, because it tied the states together, but now he has changed his mind and thinks the Electoral College should be eliminated.

Man, there is just no end to Gore’s hubris. From his website, which I’ll pass on linking to for obvious reasons …"Last night President-elect Trump said he wanted to be a president for all Americans. In that spirit, I hope that he will work with the overwhelming majority of us who believe that the climate crisis is the greatest threat we face as a nation. I wish him well in these efforts and intend to do everything I can to work with him and his administration to ensure that our nation remains a leader in the global effort to...

(Rest of Headline: and Third-Party Risks)[snip]“When it comes to the most urgent issue facing our country and the world, the choice in this election is extremely clear,” Gore told the crowd at Miami Dade University. “Hillary Clinton will make solving the climate crisis a top national priority. Her opponent based on the ideas that he has presented would take us towards a climate catastrophe.”

Multiple hecklers shouting "Bill Clinton is a rapist" interrupted President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton at separate rallies after a pro-Trump radio host offered a cash reward to anyone carrying out such a stunt. Three separate protesters disrupted Hillary Clinton's election campaign rally with Al Gore in Miami, while three others — including two wearing "Bill Clinton rapist" T-shirts — cut into Obama as he addressed a crowd in North Carolina.
