Sanford School Department officials tell the Portland Press Herald the argument happened in an 11th grade classroom at the Sanford Regional Technical Center last week. Comedian Rosie O’Donnell in a tweet late Tuesday offered millions in cash to senators who vote against the Republican tax plan. Her tweet called specifically on Republican Sens. Parents could also use the tax-exempt funds on home-schooling expenses. Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas offered the amendment to Senate Republicans' sweeping tax package.
