Mitch McConnell & Cronies Continue To Stall Trump Tax Cuts & Defend Obamacare

They have no intention of giving Donald Trump a clear victory even if said victory would be of great benefit to the American Middle Class. Instead, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and fellow GOP Senators Bob Corker and Jeff Flake, among others, are creating further dissention in the hopes of stalling or even halting the proposed tax cuts legislation altogether.

McConnell is presently calling the process “challenging” while Corker and Flake are claiming to have concerns over the tax cuts worsening the deficit. That claim is especially astounding from Senator Corker given he was only too happy to allow former POTUS Barack Obama to spend the nation into deficit oblivion. Now with Donald Trump in the White House Mr. Corker has suddenly become an increasingly outspoken deficit hawk. Both Corker and Flake, who are unpopular with voters in their respective homes states of Tennessee and Arizona, have openly shared with the Establishment Media their dislike of President Trump.

Over the weekend the Trump White House sent surrogates to speak directly to operatives in McConnell’s office to try and ensure passage of the proposed tax cut legislation before the holiday recess. Those surrogates are said to have returned from that meeting grim-faced. McConnell is said to be seriously considering letting the entirety of the legislative attempt go down much like what he did with the attempt to repeal Obamacare earlier this year.

One ally among the GOP leadership who appears willing to work directly with the Trump White House is South Dakota Senator John Thune. He has his work cut out for him though as a handful of other senators like Maine’s Susan Collins and Jerry Moran of Kansas who have indicated they want to see the Obamacare mandate protected and not made part of the tax reform legislation as it is currently written. (Yes, you read that right. Republicans are now openly advocating FOR Obamacare in order to spite Trump.)

This week will prove critical to the tax cuts/reform legislation. If a deal is not at least tentatively struck by Friday, the chances of anything happening in 2017 become increasingly unlikely as the do-nothing Republican Congress continues to try and stop the America-First Trump agenda.

A group of about a thousand people plus the MSM are thwarting the will of the American people and President Trump. Time for some Mall demonstrations? McConnell has to go. When is the vote for Senate majority leader again? This is all so frustrating. We're going to go into Nov. 2018 with nothing passed and no Wall. There has to be a way.

Everything the Cheap Labor Express Republicans do is to thwart the citizens from keeping our country.
Trump was elected because he promised to restore the rule of law and remove illegal aliens.

There has been a 30 year bipartisan plan to steal the country from the citizens by importing foreigners.
They are trying to make sure we are not allowed to elect anyone else who sides with the citizens and the rule of law again.
We stunned them throwing out their Majority Leader, Eric Cantor.
Trump had the wealth and fame to punch through the Bush blockade at the RNC.
They will make sure that “mistake” does not happen again.

It’s all about cementing the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA) in place.
They desperately do not want US to be able to restore the rule of law and reverse the demographic changes they have instituted through non-enforcement of laws and borders.
They invited 30 million people here to change the country against the will of the citizens and they do not want US sending them home.
They will do whatever it takes to keep US from electing anyone who sides with the citizens and the rule of law.

What they really don’t want is for US to keep our country.

The final amnesty that would cement the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA) into place has been sought repeatedly since 2006. They sold us Rubio to get the last one in 2013.
We have been prevented from electing anyone who would side with US and the rule of law by their control of the RNC and state parties.

The most important thing to the Uniparty is protecting the demographic changes they have made to the country against the will of the citizens.
That’s what drives the NeverTrump, the media and the Democrats hatred of Trump, it is an extension of their hatred of US.

The PPACA penalties and taxes can be removed and the penalties paid rebated in the Children’s Health Insurance Program renewal legislation.

No RINO would vote again CHIP renewal.

The Cheap Labor Express people may find themselves paying 90% income and estate tax if they aren’t more careful.

There is a need for lower cost hospitalization only plans, such as the ones that covered my family when I was a child.

Some plans might have insurer-held deductible accounts to ensure the deductibles will get paid so the plan premiums can be less.

Well said. A great summary of the RINOs agenda. As I said, it's all so frustrating. We voted in 2010, 2014 and now President Trump in 2016. We have the House, Senate and go-go President Trump. How can McConnell and five or ten RINOs thwart the will of the voters and President Trump?. It's like a de facto coup.

They might as well have taken over the WH by force and announced on TV, McConnell, with Flake, Corker and McCain at his side saying, "Okay folks, we're in charge now, no more Constitution, we're calling the shots." That's Not what we voted for. What other options do we have?

Totally agree. We need hospital only and several catastrophic choices that Americans can relate to and afford.

We have to seriously start Cantorizing the weasels.

Corker and Flake have already quit, that’s a win right there.
Wicker and Heller need to be taken out in the primary next year.
Graham and Alexander in 2020
Murkowsky, Hoeven and Rubio in 2022.

Yes, I've heard that too. But McConnell sounds like he's dead set against it. I still think it's a "deeper than that" issue with McConnell. He's, if I may guess, is thinking:

"This damn outsider is trying to change things here. He doesn't know how things work here. He'll never learn. I'm not going to pass a damn thing for him. He's insulted me and he's trying to tell Me what to do. I'll show him. We'll also teach some other upstart that you don't mess with the swamp. If you're thinking about changing things here, forget it."

So, the future of the country hangs on a pissing match. .

1. The tax reform bill is such a half-assed package that three is probably no adverse consequence if it fails. In fact, with each passing day it seems like the "constituency" for the bill is getting smaller and smaller.

2. On the other hand, the failure of the GOP to repeal ObamaCare has been a complete disaster and ought to be draped around the necks of the entire party for years.

I don't think you've characterized the situation accurately. I think what's happening here is that the GOP realizes just how ineffective and politically unpopular the tax reform bill, so they're looking for any excuse to dump it.

Here's the problem in a nutshell ... How do you sell the American voter on the urgency of a tax reform package when there's nothing in it that will address the biggest challenges taxpayers and employers are facing in the U.S. right now?

From Wikipedia:

“McConnell is of Scots-Irish and English descent, the son of Addison Mitchell McConnell, and his wife, Julia (née Shockley). McConnell was born on February 20, 1942, in Sheffield, Alabama, and raised as a young child in nearby Athens.”

“As a youth, McConnell overcame polio,[14] which he was struck with at age 2.[15] He received treatment at the Warm Springs Institute in Georgia, which potentially saved him from being disabled for the rest of his life.[16] In 1990, McConnell said that his family “almost went broke” because of costs related to his illness.”

Time for all of them to be hung by the neck until dead.

We need term limits now! Failing that, it’s time for a Civil War.

The stock market is up because of promised corporate tax cuts.

The stock market might go back down, and down, and down...

Home sales might go down, and down....

You may be correct but my gut tells me McConnell would fight it if it was a perfect plan.
