A city youth worker lost her job this week after Mayor Walsh found out that she was one of 11 protesters who chained themselves to concrete-filled barrels in Milton during Thursday’s protest in support of the activist group Black Lives Matter, the Boston Herald reports. Nelli Ruotsalainen, 25, a Finnish native living in Roxbury who worked part-time for the Boston Centers for Youth and Families as a youth communication specialist, had requested an unpaid personal day on Thursday.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – An Evansville, Indiana couple are charged with neglect after police say they found cell phone videos allegedly showing the woman’s 1-year-old daughter putting a handgun in her mouth. According to the Evansville Courier & Press, the child’s mother, Toni Wilson, 22, and Michael L. Barnes, 19, face charges of child neglect and recklessness with a deadly weapon. Police say they found the videos after Barnes was arrested for allegedly trying to sell a gun to an undercover officer. Two missing Kentucky residents have ditched one stolen vehicle in Georgia and might have switched to another, Grayson County, Ky., Sheriff Norman Chaffins said Thursday. Mecklenburg County has blocked two entrances to uptown’s Romare Bearden Park because of a complaint that the park isn’t properly accessible to people with disabilities. Benches now block two stairways into the park from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The pathways lead to a signature lighted water fountain near the center of the park. Someone complained to the county that the stairs meant disabled people couldn’t access that area of the park the same way as the general public, public information officer Leo Caplanides said. Tulsa police released the names of suspects in a deadly convenience store robbery. Police received a call of an armed robbery Tuesday night at the Ryan's Convenience Store near 21st and Mingo. The clerk told police that three masked men entered the store armed with handguns. Police say the clerk pulled out his semi-automatic pistol and shot two of the three suspects.
