The Mayor of Salem, Massachusetts, Kimberly Driscoll, is actively attempting to destroy Gordon College. Dissatisfied with the Christian college, practicing its own beliefs, last week Driscoll began to take out her hostility against them. The angry tone of the actions taken against the school reveal a few things that are important for the rest of the nearly 6,400 Christian colleges in America to understand. First and foremost--none of them are safe. Not a single one. The activists--having lost the Hobby Lobby case before the Supreme Court--are looking for a place to focus their vengeance. Christian schools now seem to be...

New York jury awards shoplifter $500,000 for broken ankle suffered during arrest NEW YORK – A Brooklyn jury has awarded more than $500,000 to a man who sued the city for a broken ankle he suffered during an arrest for shoplifting. The jury awarded Kevin Jarman $510,000 on Wednesday for the injury. The 50-year-old Jarman had filed the suit after pleading guilty to shoplifting at a Queens Pathmark in 2011.

The mask is off. All pretense has been dropped, and the anti-Christian left’s boundless depth of hatred for individual liberty, our First Amendment and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) is now on full display. I wrote last week about the Supreme Court’s recent Hobby Lobby opinion, a rather tepid acknowledgement of every American’s non-negotiable right to religious free exercise (yes, that includes Christian business owners). I observed, among other things, that “the secularist left’s utter meltdown over having but a small measure of control over others wrested away is highly instructive.” The meltdown continues. This week brings two new...

The number of foreigners who successfully filed asylum claims in the United States almost tripled from 2012 to 2013, up to 30,393. That’s 10 times the number from 2008, when President Barack Obama was elected, and it is evidence his immigration officials are approving most of the asylum requests from the growing wave of Central American migrants. If you came illegally to the U.S. seeking asylum in 2013, you had better than a four-in-five chance of successfully filing an asylum claim. That’s up from a three-in-five chance in 2008. The migrants include mothers with children, and youths who have been...

The White House on Sunday stood by President Obama's position that he continues to be the most transparent president in U.S. history, despite widespread complaints from journalists and other Americans about a lack of information or apparent misinformation. “I have a responsibility in this job to try to help the president live up to his commitment to be the most transparent president in history,” new White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said on CNN’s “Reliable Sources.” Earnest said he “absolutely, absolutely” sticks by Obama’s line about having the most transparent administration, after continued criticism about apparent attempts to not make...

There was a time when you could afford to ignore insane ideas in America, but these days you can barely manage to blurt out, "Nobody can be that stupid," before some liberal starts calling for them to be made into laws on MSNBC. So it is with the demands that the Redskins change their name, but this time 50 Democrat senators and bureaucrats at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office are tagging along with the Left-Wing loon patrol. That really shouldn't surprise anyone because it has become the standard modus operandi for liberals. Pick a group of people (In this...

Advancements in technology have fueled this White House's obsession with controlling the message. Jay Carney is free. But not loose – at least so far. After resigning as the press secretary for President Obama on June 20, Carney gave insight into the Obama administration’s handling of classified documents, and responded to criticism that this administration has been the most Orwellian in recent history. “I know — because I covered them — that this was said of Clinton and Bush, and it will probably be said of the next White House,” said Carney in a recent New York Times Magazine interview....

On Wednesday, in a move that was missed by most of the mainstream media, a group of so-called “civil lights” lawyers filed a lawsuit in Seattle. The purpose of their suit is to compel the government to assign court-appointed lawyers to every minor illegal alien so they can fight their deportation. Left-wing groups are moving quickly to make sure those illegals stay and ensure that more come. This lawsuit will be successful. How is it possible to see the future? Simple. The left is using a strategy known as “sue and settle.” To put it mildly, it is nefarious. Liberals...

. July 7, 2014 Newt Gingrich : President Obama's Border Absurdity ===================================================== President Barack Obama is in Texas today. Texas is the center of the current crisis at the border. From Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras, thousands upon thousands of children are pouring into the United States. This flood of foreign children is not a problem of border security. They are not sneaking across the border illegally. Under the Feinstein Amendment of 2008, unaccompanied minors from these countries can present themselves at a legal border crossing, claim to be political refugees and seek asylum. The argument on the left is...

In a stunning display of callousness, the Defense Department has announced that thousands of soldiers — many serving as commanding officers in Afghanistan — will be notified in the coming weeks that their service to the country is no longer needed. Last week, more than 1,100 Army captains — the men and women who know best how to fight this enemy because they have experienced multiple deployments — were told they’ll be retired from the Army. The overall news is not unexpected. The Army has ended its major operations in Iraq and is winding down in Afghanistan. Budget cuts are...

Beck To Differ: No, Glenn, liberals were never right on Iraq by Daniel Clark Since Glenn Beck’s June 17th broadcast, liberals have seized on his “admission” that they were right about Iraq. It’s not really an admission, though, if it’s something that he wants to believe anyway. Beck supported the Iraq War when he was a conservative, which he hasn’t been for quite some time. The new Glenn Beck has contracted Bush Derangement Syndrome, says we should’ve listened to Ron Paul, indulges in paranoid drone fantasies, says our response to terrorism should be to turn inward and love each other,...

In their efforts to keep up with the lies they have to tell or the truths they have to ignore the mainstream media now looks like Lucille Ball in the famous candy factory episode from I Love Lucy. The problem is that unlike the famous episode from an old comedy show, the players are laughing at the viewers. In that episode Lucy and her friend Ethel find themselves working at a candy factory. Their job was not very complicated. They had to take pieces of candy off a conveyor belt and put them in the proper places in the boxes...

1) No matter what they fail at, it's always someone else's fault. George Bush did it, the Republicans are mean, the dog ate Obama's homework. It's not his fault that he's flunking every class! 2) They don't read history, they think their parents are stupid, and they don't need to know anything other than how they feel to make a decision. So despite the fact that everyone tells them that tying a towel around their neck will not allow them to jump off the roof like Superman, they're going to do it anyway. 3) THE BAD MAN WON'T CHANGE THE...

Robert Gibbs’ prediction that Obamacare’s employer mandate would — and perhaps should — be jettisoned shocked Democrats back in April. By July, the former aide and longtime confidant of President Barack Obama had a lot more company. More and more liberal activists and policy experts who help shape Democratic thinking on health care have concluded that penalizing businesses if they don’t offer health insurance is an unnecessary element of the Affordable Care Act that may do more harm than good. Among them are experts at the Urban Institute and the Commonwealth Fund and prominent academics like legal scholar Tim Jost....

The hostility towards Christians is reaching fever pitch in the liberal West. The rights of Christians to practice their faith has come under sustained attack from some liberals, and too often those in positions of power. The past few weeks the right of Christian parents to educate their children in the Christian faith as protected by Article 8 of the European Convention of Human Rights was placed under sustained attack by liberal columnists, particularly at The Times and The Guardian. Even though their argument relied on alleged discriminatory practices carried out in non-faith state schools, it seemed Christian faith schools...

Last week the Supreme Court determined that it was unconstitutional for Obamacare to dictate that for profit companies such as Hobby Lobby must provide certain forms of contraception that they object to due to their deeply held religious beliefs. This all came from the contraception mandate, one of the many Obamacare edicts that mandated companies must provide morning after pills as well as normal contraception or risk paying steep fines and potentially forced out of business. The hysteria that has resulted from the outcome of the Hobby Lobby decision have come mostly from shrieking feminists and liberal beta males seeking...

<p>"The crisis now gripping Iraq and the Middle East was not only predictable but predicted — and preventable. By looking the other way and unconditionally supporting and arming Maliki, President Obama has only lengthened and expanded the conflict that President Bush unwisely initiated. Iraq is now a failed state, and as countries across the Middle East fracture along ethno-sectarian lines, America is likely to emerge as one of the biggest losers of the new Sunni-Shiite holy war, with allies collapsing and radicals plotting another 9/11."</p>

The economy is shrinking, the Middle East burns, and our southern border is under siege, so with all of that bad news, what do Democrats do? They distort the Supreme Court's decision on the Hobby Lobby case to fan the flames of the phony Republican war on women to score political points. In the Supreme Court's dissenting opinion penned by Ruth Bader Ginsberg, "The exemption sought by Hobby Lobby and Conestoga would ... deny legions of women who do not hold their employers' beliefs access to contraceptive coverage." She later continued, "The court, I fear, has ventured into a minefield."...

Believe it or not, it was 10 years ago this month that Barack Obama, then a candidate for the U.S. Senate, introduced himself to America with a speech that shook the Fleet Center in Boston. The main theme of that Democratic convention was the litany of George W. Bush's failures — an unpopular and unending war in Iraq, a faltering image abroad, a stagnating middle class. Obama gave eloquent voice to those frustrations, arguing that all of them could be addressed if only we reunited the electorate. Probably Obama himself would not have guessed then that he would ascend to...
