Shrieking Feminists and Beta Males Distort Hobby Lobby Decision

Hobby Lobby

Last week the Supreme Court determined that it was unconstitutional for Obamacare to dictate that for profit companies such as Hobby Lobby must provide certain forms of contraception that they object to due to their deeply held religious beliefs. This all came from the contraception mandate, one of the many Obamacare edicts that mandated companies must provide morning after pills as well as normal contraception or risk paying steep fines and potentially forced out of business. The hysteria that has resulted from the outcome of the Hobby Lobby decision have come mostly from shrieking feminists and liberal beta males seeking to curry their favor with the former.

Let us remember that prior to Obamacare, Hobby Lobby provided 16 out of 20 forms of contraception to their employees, including but not limited to birth control pills, female condoms, male condoms, contraceptive rings, and contraceptive patches. The specific pills they objected to were morning after pills, such as Plan B, which is taken after unprotected sex to prevent fertilization. Some view the latter as an abortion pill, which is why the mandate became so controversial. If one listens to sycophants in the media, as well as the political elite and pretentious organizations like NOW, you would think that Hobby Lobby and the Supreme Court are in a conspiracy to start the next American Taliban.

Debbie Wasserman-Shultz’s reaction was typical of the progressive left. In condescending platitudes, she sneered, “This is a stifling decision that blocks women from being able to make their own healthcare decisions.” Her crocodile tears continued, “this is deeply troubling, because you have organized religions that oppose healthcare, period.” In fact, the Supreme Court is not blocking women from making their own healthcare decisions. They are simply declaring that if women wish to utilize the four other forms of birth control not covered by Hobby Lobby, they must pay for it themselves. There are no “SWAT” team running in to CVS blocking the aisles that provide contraception. There’s no Rick Santorum blocking access to Planned Parenthood with a pitchfork and a bible. In fact, this is in essence giving feminists exactly what they claim to want. They wanted the government out of their bedrooms and away from their bodies and the Supreme Court ruled that the government indeed must do so by simply stating that the government doesn’t have the authority to force companies to pay for other people’s morning after pills.

Possibly the most ironic of all reactions was from Hillary Rodham Clinton herself, whose husband’s 1993 Religious Restoration Act was primarily responsible for the Supreme Court’s decision. In a recent interview at the Aspens Idea Festival, she called the decision “deeply disturbing.” When pressed about the fact that her husband’s bill was in fact the catalyst that gave the Supreme Court the ultimate decision to rule in the way they did, she pushed it aside. “There were (at the time) legitimate cases of discrimination against religion,” she scoffed, ignoring the fact that this was a legitimate case of religious discrimination against Hobby Lobby.

Hypocrisy and hyperbole aside, the reaction from the political left in this decision has left me, as a female, completely ashamed of many of those who share my gender. Part of me wants to believe that most women are not so foolish as to believe this nonsense and propaganda, but part of me knows that some of it must be working. Women voted in high numbers for Barack Obama in 2012, by a 55% to 45% margin. Married women more typically vote Republican, but single women are loyal Democrat supporters and the left’s bread and butter. I often ask if I’m one who sees this for what it is, pure pandering and emotional nonsense. Didn’t women fight to be equal and not to have men (or government) pay for their birth control? What has this feminist movement come to if this is what evokes outrage from organizations like NOW?

As a female, I’ve yet to find an instance in life where I have experienced legitimate discrimination in my place of work or personal life. I’ve yet to find the so-called “inherent misogyny” that feminists keep warning me is pervasive. The difference between conservative women and our liberal counterparts is that we accept, are proud of and enjoy being a female. We are not envious or dislike the differences between men and ourselves, we understand them. We acknowledge that there are certain things women are better at, and other things that men excel at. We do not care if you are a female who stays at home with your children, or decides a career is the best path for you, we respect both as individual decisions. We understand that it is your choice and believe in the true power of choice. Unlike our liberal counterparts, conservative females are not angry, bitter or resentful. We are content with ourselves and our place in the world and comfortable in our own skin.

The Hobby Lobby decision is a sound one, disturbing only in that four out of 9 Justices voted against all logic. Justices Ginsberg and Sotomayer’s scathing dissent demonstrates the emotional response to a very rational decision. It is my sincere hope that the shrieking response to the Hobby Lobby decision from feminists and beta males of the political and media elite does not continue to persuade otherwise rational females of these falsehoods and platitudes. From what I’ve heard this week however, I am beginning to lose faith in my fellow females.

Yes, I have seen the beta male/manboob crowd wearing their “This is what a feminist looks like” t-shirts going shrill over this sane decision on Hobby Lobby.

Bet if you ask them what they are specifically protesting about and tell them HL pays for pre-contraception not post-conception birth control their eyes will glaze over in confusion and they won’t be able to articulate theexact reason they are there for

A well articulated, rational and coherent response to the political left’s shrieking, hand-wringing and teeth gnashing over the Hobby Lobby ruling.

As easy as it seems to blow the left’s talking points out of the water and shut them down, the impotent, incompetent and wholly tone-deaf GOPe will let it go virtually unanswered and unchallenged. Talk about “low hanging fruit”... They can only be relied upon to swing & miss, like always.

I was on the Yahoo articles after the decision and the libs are buying what the MSM is telling them. They don’t believe you when you tell them they can purchase a baby’s death for themselves but they can’t force a Christian to pay for it.

Point well taken. You would think liberals would cut Hobby Lobby some slack, given they start people out at $14 per hour. I guess infanticide trumps living wage in left wing desire.

I wouldn’t rate them as Beta males. There must be something lower than that we can call them. (probably can’t post those names here though)

Its not that they don’t believe that they’re playing a mindgame claiming that and these are the kind of leftists who know they can buy it but want the govt to be powerful enough to tell religious businessowners they must bow to govt.

Actually some are that stupid. The press says that women are being denied access to birth control and libs take that as gospel.

You’re right, I forgot most lefties not exposed to Constitutional thinking are prone to believe other lefties in the media.
