During the second portion of a House Oversight and Government Reform hearing about Benghazi Thursday on Capitol Hill, the majority of Democrats on the Committee left the room and refused to listen to the testimony of Patricia Smith and Charles Woods. Ms. Smith is the mother of Sean Smith, an information management officer killed in the 9/11 Benghazi attack. Charles Woods is the father of Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods, who was also killed.

A journalism professor at the University of Kansas (KU) turned to Twitter on Monday to suggest he would like to see the murder of children of National Rifle Association (NRA) members at the hands of a deranged gunman. “#NavyYardShooting The blood is on the hands of the #NRA,” tweeted David Guth, who is an associate professor of Journalism at the university’s William Allen White School of Journalism. Speaking with Campus Reform on Wednesday, Guth confirmed it was he who sent the controversial tweet. “Hell no, hell no, I do not regret that Tweet,” he said. “I don't take it back...

Tennessee Democrat Rep. Steve Cohen blamed opposition to gun control on voters’ affinities for “guns and the Bible” on Wednesday in an MSNBC appearance. “I got the vitriol from on the Twitter from all these people who opposed that cartoon,” said Cohen, who tweeted a cartoon that appeared to blame the National Rifle Association for the Navy Yard shooting spree on Tuesday. ”They are hardcore Republicans. This I think means more to them than — I think their guns are right there next to their Bibles. I’m not sure which they find more important to them.” Cohen’s remarks bear a...

    Washington Examiner ^ | Sept 12, 2013 | Charlie Spiering
"It's worth saying Colorado has maintained people's right to own a gun --- we've maintained the full respect for the Second Amendment," he insisted during a press conference on Wednesday. Hickenlooper repeatedly cited a poll showing that 80 percent of Colorado voters support universal background checks, calling the law "sound and sensible." He admitted, however, that he was never as "fired up" about limits on ammunition magazines. "That was a tough one," he said.

SACRAMENTO -- A day after furious Coloradans recalled two state senators who voted for new gun laws, California lawmakers pressed ahead with their own agenda Wednesday aimed at giving the Golden State the strictest gun control in the country. Colorado's recall elections and California's rush to pass gun bills in the final week of its legislative session quickly reignited the national debate over balancing public safety with constitutional rights. The Colorado votes sent a Rocky Mountain chill down the spines of lawmakers in other battleground states, but those in bright blue California seemed unfazed. "I don't see anybody switching teams...

The Scientific Theory holds that you fit the theory to the facts. It’s applied backwards in the world of gun control: you modify or omit the facts to fit the theory. Case in point: California recently redefined what it thinks an assault weapon is and then banned their definition: New sales of semi-automatic rifles with removable magazines would be banned in California under a bill passed by the Democratic-led state legislature on Tuesday, and those who already own such weapons would have to register them. [...] It would classify an assault weapon as any rifle that accepts a detachable magazine...

For the progressive left, all roads lead to the French Revolution (1789-99) which was the first totalitarian revolution, the genesis of modern totalitarianism, and the spiritual foundation for the Russian Communist, Italian Fascist and German Nazi revolutions. A nationalist-populist rebellion, it was established and controlled by a small intellectual braintrust hellbent on killing God, Christianity, capitalism and objective truth thus devolving Western civilization into a savage society based on a political religion that deified "the people," anointed the revolutionary elites as their priests, and destroyed the rights of individuals. As Robespierre put it, "The people is [sic] always worth more...

A well-known Russian gay activist has caused consternation with a sudden spate of anti-Semitic rants on Facebook and Twitter. Some have expressed concern that the activist, Nikolai Alexeyev, may have been threatened by the Kremlin. Alexeyev’s latest posts included statements such as, “I definitely give an interview ASAP to any credible western media about the Jewish mafia trying to overtake the world and now LGBT fight in Russia.” A fourth post laments, “Jewish lobby in US worked well. USA is a totalitarian state with no freedom of speech! I have much more freedom here in Russia!”

After six years of offering the non-credit yet popular NRA-based gun safety course, the Los Angeles Community College announced that the class has been dropped due to new restrictions set up by the school’s board of trustees. The Board of Trustees Vice President Scott Svonkin, who helped to write the new resolution, told Campus Reform in an interview Monday that he felt the school had no business teaching firearms safety, but rather the facility should have the responsibility to “promote gun control.” “I believe that the NRA’s goal is to promote gun ownership, and that guns lead to deaths,” Svonkin...

Former Australian Deputy Prime Minister Tim Fischer, in reaction to the tragic murder of baseball player Chris Lane in Oklahoma last Friday, has decried the incident as a direct consequence of organizations that support gun rights such at the National Rifle Association. Fischer claimed that the murder is "the bitter harvest and legacy of the policies of the NRA that even blocked background checks for people buying guns at gunshows" and added that, "People should take this into account before going to the United States." Fischer's comments are disgraceful in myriad ways. To advance one's political agenda by tapping into...

At least one mother told KCAL9′s Tom Wait she was upset after hearing that her 7-year-old daughter was allegedly forced to kneel before Carter. “She says that she has to drop down on one knee with her hands at her side, wait for the principal to come out, lift his arms and tell them to go to class,” said the mom. “I feel that the principal wants to be like a king, and we don’t have kings in America,” she added. District officials said Carter will schedule a future meeting with parents to plan different safety options on campus.

The latest casualty of Obamacare may be a low-cost New Jersey health-care policy. Though President Obama promised “if you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period,” that will not be the case for approximately 106,000 New Jersey residents whose plans will disappear under the law.Known as the “basic and essential,” or B&E, health-care plans, the policy costs as little as a couple hundred dollars per month and is the choice of 71 percent of New Jersey residents on the individual insurance market. It provides minimum coverage for things such as doctor’s visits...
