Tennessee Democrat Rep. Steve Cohen blamed opposition to gun control on voters affinities for guns and the Bible on Wednesday in an MSNBC appearance.
I got the vitriol from on the Twitter from all these people who opposed that cartoon, said Cohen, who tweeted a cartoon that appeared to blame the National Rifle Association for the Navy Yard shooting spree on Tuesday. They are hardcore Republicans. This I think means more to them than I think their guns are right there next to their Bibles. Im not sure which they find more important to them.
Cohens remarks bear a strong resemblance to comments made by President Barack Obama in 2008 at a California fundraiser, where he explained that economic downturns pushed bitter Pennsylvania voters to cling to guns or religion a point co-host David Corn quickly made.

...both a$$hole. The Navy Yard was shot up by a black Obama voting democrat. This twirp knows this. I don’t see how these people sleep at night.
looks like Al Franken without hair
So Tennessee, what are you going to do?
Well, I appreciate him passing the highly regressive tax (TN Lottery) so my son could get tuition help from all those folks on food stamps and public assistance.
I believe he is in a district akin to Sheila Jackson in Texas.
I was thinking the same thing. They have absolutely no shame whatsoever. Yet you never hear any of these weasels talk about the musloids clinging to their koran and their bombs. Never. They disgust me, utterly.
Another talking farm animal.
Be embarrassed and do what we can to vote him out. And yes, he is Al Franken without hair. I wish we could give both him and Memphis to Alabama. Just sayin.....
Don’t know if Mr Cohen knows guns but he obviously doesn’t know the Bible to mock it so
Please mock the Torah and the Koran, Mr Cohen, so we know you are not profiling one religious group
Does anybody still think the Republic can be saved while loathsome vermin like this have a voice in public affairs?
Haha. Good one. Not even gonna refute that one!
“Tennessee Democrat”
Let’s fry this weasel. 2014 is the date,
I bet Cohen led the Democrat boos against God at the convention in 2012
Has Tennessee been importing liberals???
FURY AFTER PUBLIC SCHOOL SENDS STUDENTS TO A MOSQUE AND GIVES THIS CONTROVERSIAL ALTERNATIVE ASSIGNMENT
Should public schools be permitted to send students to houses of worship? Some might say yes, particularly those who believe that faith-related field trips serve as good educational opportunities. But what about when those trips include Islamic mosques and Hindu temples at the expense of others? A a controversy in Tennessee is brewing over exactly that.
Enter Hendersonville High School in Hendersonville, Tenn., a school that has come under fire after sending freshmen to a local mosque on Sept. 4, where they were reportedly offered copies of the Koran. In the wake of the controversy, the school has revised its field trip policy to restrict trips to churches, reports conservative commentator Todd Starnes.
The students in the schools honors world studies class visited both an Islamic mosque and a Hindu temple. Considering that the pupils likely had little knowledge about either faith system, the assumption is that the trip was a cultural learning opportunity.
But some parents, Starnes notes, were bothered by the fact that Hendersonville students were not also sent to Christian and Jewish houses of worship.
Richard Head.
So, we have a shooting that occures on an installation that was made into a gun free zone by Clinton and is located in a city with some very strict anti-gun laws. Yet, the failure of these disarmament laws is blamed on those that want to allow citizens to protect themselves.....
Liberal logic is twisted.
Bitter clingers.
