French Revolution and the triumph of liberal fascism

For the progressive left, all roads lead to the French Revolution (1789-99) which was the first totalitarian revolution, the genesis of modern totalitarianism, and the spiritual foundation for the Russian Communist, Italian Fascist and German Nazi revolutions. A nationalist-populist rebellion, it was established and controlled by a small intellectual braintrust hellbent on killing God, Christianity, capitalism and objective truth thus devolving Western civilization into a savage society based on a political religion that deified "the people," anointed the revolutionary elites as their priests, and destroyed the rights of individuals. As Robespierre put it, "The people is [sic] always worth more than individuals... The people is sublime, but individuals are weak" – or collectively, dispensable.

In this case, I believe that American presidential history over the last 100 years has (or soon will) establish the Wilson, the FDR, the LBJ and the Obama administrations as the direct descendants of the world's first fascist movement: the French Revolution.

Since history is the final judge of our deeds (JFK), it's incredulous how any rational person today would doubt the fascist nature of the French Revolution. Few doubt that it was tyrannical, terrorist, nationalist, conspiratorial, and populist. It created the first modern dictators, Robespierre and Napoleon, and functioned on the foundation that the nation had to be ruled by a progressive avant-garde, a pagan oligarchy who would personify as the authentic, organic expression of the "general will" according to the political philosopher, Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712-78). The fanatical Jacobin character made the revolutionaries more vicious and evil than the king they supplanted. Some fifty thousand people eventually were murdered in the Great Terror, a majority in political show trials that British historian Simon Schama defines as the "founding charter of totalitarian justice." Robespierre summed up the totalitarian nihilism of the Revolution:

Wilson, the FDR, the LBJ and the Obama administrations

they are all democrats

and people forget that for 40 years before 1994 democrats totally controlled congress with huge majorities at least 60- 80% of either or both Houses of congress. that combined with the liberal media monopoly and we see why freedom and opportunity are declining in the USA. the most fatal blow was the 1965 immigration act.

but liberals and even many conservatives blame everything on Republicans and ignore history and the fact that the democrat party controls:

The enemy of the American people is the democrat party. The democrat party controls

1. the news media
2. hollwywood
3. the presidency
4. The senate
5. the gov bureaucracies
5. the unions
7. the universities
8. the schools
9. soros , Lewis, zuckerberg, many other billionaires are democrats.
10. Obama the main tyrant is a democrat
11. silicon valley, Google etc. are democrats
12. Pelosi, REid, fienstein, Shumer, Durbin , Lois lerner r democrats
13 . the rest of the media
14. IRS , EPA, DHS, HHS, TSA, FCC, FBI, etc.
15. liberals control the supreme Court( they approved Obamacare)
15 . Democrats control all the political money .Soros, tides foundation, gov grants,Zuckerberg,Lewis (another billionaire. moveon.org,unions etc.
16. lawyers , courts

etc
Democrat party controls all this and more but the media and many others say that everything is the Republicans fault even though r’s have only a few votes majority in the House and that’s it

Democrats want to makes slaves of all Americans, turn us into cattle with less rights than a cow or farm chicken for them to manipulate

Good piece but you got the list the wrong way round - it is Hollywood and the Media who now lead the Democrat Party. Obama was first selected by a cadre of Hollywood homo-sexuals, not by anyone in the Democratic Party (who were originally assuming the next President was going to be a Clinton). Today, it doesn’t matter who you are, a Democrat or a Republican or a poster-child or a no-body, the Mainstream Media can destroy you (or make-you) as they know best.

Well, that was interesting. Sentences that make no sense or are grammatically incorrect, words used in ways that are incoherent or actually mean the opposite of what he’s trying to say.

I agree with his basic point, but he needs to learn how to write and think if he wants to be taken seriously.

Also, if you’re going to talk about “the French revolutionists,” you need to specify which ones. There were numerous ideologies, which killed each other off with abandon.

The author is actually talking about the Jacobins, who held power for little more than a year.

But he is quite correct about their being the ideological ancestors of both commies and fascists.

Indeed. And they pass themselves off as “friends of the little guy and the oppressed”. Truth is, they’re the biggest oppressors of all.
