Protesting students at George Washington University (GWU) claim forcing them to accept police protection during their marches is “violence,” because many police officers supported President-elect Donald Trump. In a list of demands assembled by several progressive student groups, GWU protesters say school officials should find a way of guaranteeing their safety during marches that doesn’t involve police. “The Fraternal Order of Police, the largest police union in the United States, has formally endorsed President-Elect Donald Trump,” the list says. “The FOP includes over 10,000 members in Washington D.C., many of which have jurisdiction over GW’s campus. Placing us in these...

There seems to be a copyright issue with usa today, but you could find the actual article written by an Alan Gomez -today. POTUS-E Trump is considering deputizing local police officers nationwide to enforce our immigration laws. It was labelled the 287(g) program. This would fulfill his pledge to --crack-down-- on undocumented immigrants. This news was photographed off the 'cheat sheet' proposal for DHS which was 'spied' in Kris Kobach's hands as part of the immigration transition team on Sunday. Other proposals included cutting off the Syrian refugee program and enhanced screening for those coming from terrorist swamps. The idea...

The country’s largest police union, which endorsed Donald Trump for president, is wary of his stance on a key campaign issue: his promise to withhold funds from so-called “sanctuary cities.” As part of his first 100-days action plan, Mr. Trump has pledged to block all federal funding to jurisdictions that shield illegal immigrants. But in recent days, mayors and police chiefs in major cities across the country have pledged to stand behind their sanctuary city policies in defiance of Mr. Trump’s plans. The stance creates a conundrum for the National Fraternal Order of Police — which doesn’t support the sanctuary...

The Justice Department reached a settlement this week with the Denver Sheriff Department, after they allegedly discriminated against work-authorized immigrants by only considering the applications of U.S. citizens. “The Denver Sheriff Department discriminated based on citizenship status by requiring applicants for deputy sheriff positions to be U.S. citizens and publishing job postings with U.S. citizenship requirements, in violation of the INA (Immigration and Nationality Act),” a statement from the DOJ reads. INA prohibits employers from limiting jobs to U.S. citizens (except where they are required to do so by law).

The day after a Minnesota cop was charged in the July shooting death of a black man, an in-depth study purported to show race generally does not play a role in police shootings.

Among the findings of the investigation released Thursday by the Crime Prevention Research Center: White police officers are not significantly more likely to shoot black suspects; body cameras have had little effect on decreasing police killings; the more cops at the scene, the less likely it is a suspect will be shot.

After more than a year, the video has been released from the day Albuquerque police officer Daniel Webster was shot during a traffic stop. The release comes ahead of the January trial for his suspected killer, 35-year-old Davon Lymon. He was found guilty last month on federal gun charges, a case involving the same firearm he allegedly used to kill Webster. Some scenes are disturbing and we will not broadcast the video in its entirety. It does show Webster getting shot by the motorcyclist he pulled over on Oct. 21, 2015. In the video, Webster orders Lymon to put his...

Are Police Chief/Sheriff offices elected? Now see the downside of politicizing law enforcement, over-reaction against the time when the landed gentry, the Lords, appointed them. Not that there's any proof political pimping of votes benefits inner city citizens to any whit. Chief Cops of Chicago and LA won't cooperate with immigration law enforcement, now matter how many of their districts' people secretly voted for Trump. We're in a time of arbitrary enforcement of law to favor the rich and strong, the weak and small tough luck, like lawless 16th century Italy portrayed by their Charles Dickens, Alessandro Manzoni, in The...

The 14-year-old daughter of a police officer executed at the July 7 Black Lives Matter protest in Dallas was notified by Southern Methodist University that she would not be able to serve an honorary serve in her father’s memory. SMU told her and her mother “that the demonstration could be deemed insensitive.” The University sent the communication to back out saying they were doing so because the volleyball program “feels that in light of recent events and diversity within the SMU community,” “the demonstration could be deemed insensitive.”

"I told Donald Trump I wanted to help him, because I thought that this country needed his leadership. That being said, if the President asks you to serve, you step up to fulfill that duty. So if he feels that I can help...

We are still the country that produced George Wallace. We are still the country that killed Emmett Till. Around 11:30 on Tuesday night, I left CBS News studios in New York City to take a walk and call my wife. We talked about the election. We talked about the very real chance of President Donald Trump. We talked, just to talk. But we didn’t talk long. We had to do work. I had to write. And she had to figure out what she would say to her students, many of them Hispanic, most of them young children of immigrants. Heading...

When LAPD officers arrived, they determined there was no robbery happening, but an argument between the 57-year-old man and his son, who is his twenties.
