The European Commission urged Germany late Monday to accept children from overcrowded migrant camps in Greece. “The Commission is concerned about the difficult situation for unaccompanied minors on the ground in Greece and remains in close contact with the Greek authorities, notably as concerns the situation on the heavily overcrowded islands and the very challenging situation in the hotspots,” a spokesman told DPA news agency. “In particular as regards the more than 5,000 unaccompanied minors, the Commission has repeatedly called upon the member states to continue relocating from Greece on a voluntary basis, with funds provided by the Commission,” the...

The discovery of a 2,300-year-old shipwreck between the classical trading centers of Rhodes and Alexandria adds to the corpus of evidence that is challenging the long-held assumption that ancient sailors lacked the navigational skills to sail large distances across open water, and were instead restricted to following the coastline during their voyages. Four other possibly ancient wrecks lie nearby... Despite its depth, the site is typical for an ancient shipwreck. The vessel came to rest on the bottom and eventually listed over onto its side. In this case, the ship heeled over to port. As its wooden hull lost...

His name is David Aguina and he’s an Army reservist. His UCMJ claims against Soltz seem thin to me — Article 88 prohibits “contemptuous words” directed at the president, not criticism, and Article 91 seems to apply only to lower-ranking soldiers and only when on duty — but it’s hard not to be moved by his story about his experience with Iraqis. Meanwhile, via LGF, one of the yKos panelists parries right-wing criticism of the incident with some clever stammering about chickenhawks. Unmentioned in his post: Glenn Greenwald, Atrios, Max Blumenthal, Ken Layne, and the countless millions of other...

Tonight's Message from NBC/Univision's Jorge Ramos on Daily Kos, The Mainstream Media's go-to website for approved, politically-correct daily talking points, cannot be any clearer. Any Journalist that dares to not shill for Hillary, using pre-approved Democrat-provided talking points against Donald Trump will be PUBLICLY SHAMED... This displays in a very clear way the pressure that is being put on "Journalists" to Hate Trump, and therefore help Hillary. From KOS: "It doesn’t matter who you are—a journalist, a politician or a voter—we’ll all be judged by how we responded to Donald Trump. Like it or not, this election is a plebiscite...

A MAN who claimed to be an Australian-based jihadist terrorist and encouraged attacks on local Jews has been exposed as an online troll who is in fact a young Jewish-American. The FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force swooped on Joshua Ryne Goldberg’s Florida home, where the 20-year-old lived with his parents, early Thursday, US time, after a joint investigation with the Australian Federal Police into his online activities supporting Islamic State. Mr Goldberg, under the persona “Australi Witness”, had ... boasted about inspiring the May 3 attacks on the Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest in Garland, Texas, where two mujahideen were...

Thousands of desperate migrants are camping out on roundabouts amid squalid camps overflowing with rubbish on the Greek holiday islands of Lesbos and Kos. Around 5,000 people have arrived in Lesbos in the past few days and many are forced to sleep outside amid broken glass and piles of rubble without access to water, shelter, toilets or medical care. Shocking images taken at the official Moria camp near the main town of Mitlini show filthy and overflowing latrines strewn with discarded plastic bottles and tents perched next to piles of rubbish.

<p>Summer break a 'nightmare' for British holidaymakers, who 'won’t be coming back if it's a refugee camp next year'</p>
<p>Boat people from Syria and Afghanistan and British holidaymakers have clashed on Kos – as migrants have turned the Greek island, popular with cheap package deals, into a 'disgusting' hellhole. As families – enjoying some summer sun with their kids during the half term break – relax on sun loungers on the beach, just a yards away scores of migrants have set up camp, sleeping on cardboard boxes with rubbish strewn everywhere. Anne Servante, a nurse from Manchester, had come to Kos expecting a relaxing break with her husband Tony, a retired plumber. Instead her summer break has turned into a nightmare as penniless migrants who are in Greece to claim asylum sit outside their restaurant and watch them eat.</p>

+50 GOP seats in the House - 'Armageddon' in the Senate A demoralized contributor to the Daily Kos has laid-out the cold, hard truth for any residual hopenchangey-types out there harboring dreams of Obama's ceaseless fundraising somehow riding in and saving-the-day... That ain't gonna happen: rather, expect for the Democratic party -decimated perhaps now for years by the failed/nutty Obama agenda- to get their butts kicked all up-and-down the field in midterms just two weeks from today. And the wiser minds on the other side have sussed this by now- Dear Leader's approval is bouncing on a floor of all-time-lows, disillusioned...

Pumice as a Time Witness Technische Universität WienJune 23,2008 Three different pumice samples A chemist of Vienna University of Technology demonstrates how chemical fingerprints of volcanic eruptions and numerous pumice lump finds from archaeological excavations illustrate relations between individual advanced civilisations in the Eastern Mediterranean. Thanks to his tests and to the provenancing of the respective pumice samples to partially far-reaching volcanic eruptions, it became possible to redefine a piece of cultural history from the second millenium B.C. Vienna (TU). During the Bronze Age, between the years 3000 and 1000 B.C., the Mediterranean was already intensely populated. Each individual culture,...

To say that the Daily Kos, Democratic Underground, and other progressive sites have carried the water for Obama since he emerged on the national stage is a drastic understatement. They've covered up lies, downplayed scandals, accused Republicans of everything from rape to murder, and through it all declared Barack Obama as one of their greatest heroes. It takes a lot to turn the opinions of blinded sheep like these. And while they have yet to awaken to who the President really is, the NSA scandal and the government's stance on Edward Snowden has started to make them hate the man...

Ted Cruz for President? The Daily Kos folks cannot believe the thought. “Dr. Zombie” was amazed: “Demonstrating they intend to NEVER learn from their stupidity, they are already advancing this loony bull---t that some loudmouthed numbskull like Cruz could be considered a possible frontrunner for POOL BOY.” The blog concluded with what sounds like a lynching reference: “We can only hope they run with this and allow this dimwit to run his mouth as much as possible....Give this man enough rope and a tree, please.” Perhaps they mean a self-lynching. Google words like that and you get "Give a man...

Add Politico and The Daily Kos to organizations conceding that Breitbart News is reporting stories they refuse to cover. In an article describing the violent pro-union demonstrations in Michigan on Tuesday, in which protesters rallied against Michigan's historic right-to-work legislation, Politico promptly finished the piece with two paragraphs that served to dismiss everything that was written leading up to that point, quoting a poster on the liberal website The Daily Kos lamenting about the "Fox News-Breitbart" crowd. "But some on the left are saying the reports are overly exaggerated," Politico writes at the end of the article. Politico then quotes...

Last week, I approvingly linked the Daily Kos’ report on the PPP poll it commissioned when it showed Mitt Romney leading by two point, 49/47. Markos Moulitsas responded with some snark on Twitter, wondering if I’d link future polling from his site, and I said I probably would. Since I am a man of my word, here is the latest Daily Kos/PPP weekly polling result — which turned out to be even more painful than the first for Markos: Public Policy Polling for Daily Kos & SEIU. 10/12-14. Likely voters. MoE ±2.5% (10/4-7 results) The candidates for President are Democrat...

This was a PPP poll for Kos/SEIU conducted 10/12-14 of likely voters (previous results in parenthesis): The candidates for President are Democrat Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney. If the election was today, who would you vote for? Obama 46 (47) Romney 50 (49) At a time when other polls are moving back in the president's direction, our own weekly poll by Public Policy Polling saw the opposite—a two-point Romney gain. Per day: Friday (38%) Obama 47, Romney 49 Saturday (39%) Obama 49, Romney 47 Sunday (24%) Obama 43, Romney 55

They are also calling WI a safe pickup for Wisconsin. There hasn't been a serious outside poll from the usual suspects (RAS, PPP, WSJ, Gallup, etc.) in quite some time. That's a big red flag as they don't think it's a contested race....why waste the time/money? Big money is slowly filtering out. Another red flag. No new "manufactured dirt", just the same old memes from the Kerrey camp....and it's not sticking. Kerrey is settling into a "bunker" mentality. No real buzz or energy. His heart just isn't into it. GOP base is far more jazzed up, organized and hitting the...

I asked a top Romney adviser what he makes of reports that the Romney campaign knows it’s losing and that Ohio is slipping out of reach (PPP has a new poll with Obama at 50 in the state):“It’s horses**t. Nobody in Boston thinks we’re going to lose. We’re in a tight race. We had a 4-5 point bounce after our convention and it evaporated when they had theirs. Now they have a 4-5 bounce. It’s going evaporate in September. We feel good about the map. We’re up with advertising in Wisconsin and I think North Carolina is going to come...

While the Daily Kos first reacted with horror like everyone else to the Aurora shooting, it didn’t take too long for the America-bashing to begin. The blogger known as “Killer of Sacred Cows†grew angry that Rep. Louie Gohmert would suggest the madness could have been stopped sooner if someone else in the theater was packing heat. That apparently put him in “Idiotsville.†But KoSC really wanted to blame the American Culture of Violence for the shooting, that our screwed-up social system doesn’t tolerate diminished mental capacity, it creates it: ..we keep seeing the MSM talking heads endlessly speculating on...

What do you expect from a website whose founder wrote a book called “American Taliban?” Via BreitbartTV: Ex-Daily Kos writer Eric Allen Bell had written a piece on a 53,000 square foot mosque in the Bible Belt. In response, the Daily Kos banned Bell. Another liberal site, LoonWatch.com, posted Bell’s photograph and information on Islamic websites all over the world.
