As news broke Thursday night that at least four police officers in Dallas had been murdered, hundreds of Black Lives Matter protesters took to social media to celebrate, condone, or excuse the shootings. Here are only a few examples of the dozens that have been posted over the last hour alone:

This advance copy of President Obama's Sunday evening address to the nation was provided by my confidential informant, the Very Honorable and Highly Reliable I.M. Totus, the Teleprompter of the United States.

My Fellow Muslims Americans, we live in difficult times. We must wrestle constantly with blasphemous, and therefore false, Islamophobic assertions such as that devout Muslims slaughtered innocents in Paris and more recently in California. I shall continue to pursue with all possible vigor the perpetrators of such Islamophobic speech and thought, which I recently declared felony-grade hate crimes.

You need to know three things about the Oregon killings, the latest senseless act of hate directed at Christians in America. The father of shooting victim Anastasia Boylan, who was shot in the back and survived, said this after talking to his daughter before her surgery about Christopher Harper Mercer’s killing spree at a Rosewood, Oregon community college. I don’t know how much time elapsed before he was able to stand there and start asking people one by one what their religion was. ‘Are you a Christian?’ he asked them. And if you’re a Christian stand up, and he said ‘Good....

Italy's migration crisis took on a deadly new twist Thursday as police in Sicily reported that Muslim migrants had thrown 12 Christians overboard during a recent crossing from Libya, and an aid group said another 41 were feared drowned in a separate incident. Palermo police said they had detained 15 people suspected in the high seas assault, which they learned of while interviewing tearful survivors from Nigeria and Ghana who had arrived in Palermo Wednesday morning after being rescued at sea by the ship Ellensborg. The 15 were accused of multiple homicide aggravated by religious hatred, police said in a...

A Utah woman pleaded guilty Thursday to murdering her six newborn babies over a 10-year period and storing them in her garage. Megan Huntsman, 39, strangled and suffocated her children, wrapped the babies in towels and blankets and stuffed them into boxes that she put in the garage, the Los Angeles Times reports. Huntsman, who said she lost count of how many babies she killed, faces up to life in prison for each murder. She will be sentenced April 20.
  • It’s time to abolish the CIA

The CIA should be abolished. After a trial run of 67 years, the agency has proven a sorcerer’s apprentice. The director and his subordinates have became insufferably arrogant Platonic Guardians hiding behind secrecy in the belief that the rest of us are too stupid or naive to judge what risks to accept to preserve liberty and the rule of law. The CIA has made Americans less safe. Its incorrigible anti-democratic ethos was epitomized by legendary chief of counterintelligence James J. Angleton. He voiced contempt for the Church Committee’s investigation of chronic agency abuses, i.e., the “Family Jewels.” As reported in...

A veteran New York City taxi driver originally from Pakistan was convicted of two honor killings he arranged to avenge his family’s “humiliation.” Mohammed Choudhry, 61, who drove a cabin New York for more than 20 years, had forced his 23-year-old daughter, Amina Ajmal, into an arranged marriage in Pakistan in 2012. However, Ajmal, who was raised in the U.S. and college-educated, was in love with another man, Shujat Abbas. When Ajmal fled the marriage during a daring midnight escape with Abbas and came back to the U.S., Choudhry vowed to take revenge for the family’s disgraced “honor,” pledging to...

He's been called an education visionary, a confidante of the future president and a terrorist, but he's never had to answer questions like these. William Ayers, who went from leading the Weather Underground in the 1960s and early 1970s to becoming a celebrated academic at University of Illinois, sat down for a no-holds barred interview with Fox News Channel's Megyn Kelly, which will air Monday night.

I've been trying to think of all the post-Sandy Hook gun control legislation that has been proposed (some of it passed), and I can't think of a single piece of legislation that would have stopped him. The only thing that I can come up with is a complete ban on handguns. What would not have helped: 1) Expanded background checks - he legally bought the guns - gun show, private buyer, no difference - they checked on him. 2) Gun Registration - all handguns are registered in California, and I assume his too, as he legally owned them 3) Smaller...

Kenyan Vice President William Ruto orchestrated a campaign of ethnic killings "to satisfy his thirst for power" after disputed 2007 elections, prosecutors said Tuesday at the start of his trial at the International Criminal Court. Ruto, 46, and co-accused Kenyan radio boss Joshua arap Sang, 38, pleaded not guilty to charges of stoking the worst violence in the east African country since independence in 1963. Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, Ruto's former political foe turned ally, goes on trial at the ICC on November 12. He also proclaims his innocence. The start of the high-stakes case, with the ICC's reputation on...

The Obama administration is refusing to hand over full details of its targeted killing programme in order to ensure John Brennan takes up his post as head of the CIA, according to a report. The White House is said to be considering handing over details of the Benghazi scandal to Republicans rather than give up the secrets of its drone strikes. The move is infuriating Democrats who have long called for full disclosure of classified legal memos in relation to targeted killings. nstead President Obama seems content to risk their wrath to win more support for Mr Brennan.

LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa announced the reward at a news conference at Los Angeles Police Department headquarters. “This search is not a matter of if, but a matter of when," he said. An American fugitive, accused of murdering an aide to the late Shah of Iran in the United States, was made an editor of Iran’s English-language television network in Tehran. Hassan Abdulrahman, who is wanted by the FBI for shooting dead Ali Akbar Tabatabai in Maryland, worked for Iran’s flagship broadcaster Press TV, which has bureaus across the world, including London. A Press TV journalist who resigned in protest over the channel’s coverage of the apparently rigged Iranian election in June told The Times yesterday that Mr Abdulrahman was chief editor at the head office of the network. The journalist, who...
  • Democrats: Investigate Benghazi Attack AFTER the Election

Don’t be fooled by the supposedly bipartisan effort to investigate the Obama administration’s actions after the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya. Democrats are no more serious about challenging their leader in the White House than they have ever been. But here’s the salient point, and how the Democrats are duping the public into thinking that they truly want an investigation: Kerry and his pals’ letter to Thomas Nides, deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources, is asking for more information and a full briefing after the Senate returns in November. That’s right. After the election.

Sources told ABC News the suspect was a “white supremacist” or “skinhead.” And officials told NBC News he had “some kind of radical or white supremacist views,” but was apparently not a member of any kind of radical organization. His past run-ins with law enforcement were described as minor. According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, Page “was a frustrated neo-Nazi who had been the leader of a racist white-power band.” The band, called End Apathy, formed in 2005. According to the group’s MySpace page, its music “is a sad commentary on our sick society and the problems that prevent...
  • Fury over rural diktat banning women from 'falling in love' (India)

A VILLAGE council in India has issued a Taliban-like diktat banning women under the age of 40 from falling in love, using mobile phones or going out in public unescorted. The “fiat” issued by the Asara village council in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh province, 40km northeast of the capital New Delhi, has outraged women’s rights activists across India. It also requires women to cover their heads while away from their homes. Anyone defying the order would be ostracised and then expelled from the village, council member Mohammad Mokam said yesterday. He added there were “other ways” to make the...

In the August issue, Tom Junod examines an entirely new application of power on the part of the president — the targeted killing of individuals deemed to be threats to the country. So far, thousands have been killed, most prominent among them Osama bin Laden and Anwar al-Awlaki. The decisions to target are made and the lethal missions are carried out without any public accountability, even when those targeted are Americans and even when, on one occasion, one of those Americans was a teenager. Over the course of this week, Junod considers five of the larger implications of his story...
