Seeking leads as the massive manhunt for Christopher Dorner -- the former Los Angeles police officer suspected in three killings -- progressed into its fourth day, authorities on Sunday announced a $1 million reward for information leading to his arrest.
LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa announced the reward at a news conference at Los Angeles Police Department headquarters.
This search is not a matter of if, but a matter of when," he said. "I want Chris Dorner to know that.

dead or alive?
See? They KNOW he’s being harbored.
He’s warm, well-fed, and rested.
And they’re trying to break the impasse with THIS.
He’s inside Los Angeles and he’s with Django-lovers, probably of the muzzie variety.
It tells me that they think he has someone helping him and a big payday might cause someone to roll over on the murdering animal.
it could also end up meaning his partner just gets killed pre-emptively (if he has one)
I doubt those harboring him believe the LAPD would actually pay.
I saw your comment on another thread. Good observation, :-)
I think LAPD would prefer it that way. Just guessing.
accurate
Your right..I wouldnt be surprised at all if he is being taken care by his leftist buddies who are rooting for him.he has enough of a fan base out there who would let him stay with them til things die down
I heard Beck on the news say that this is for information leading to his prosecution. WTH??? prosecution??? Do they want him or don’t they???
California has some fancy-sounding “Board of Governor’s” Crime-stoppers reward thingy, or something, and there’s a secret:
It’s almost NEVER paid.
Someone calls in some crystal-clear, incredibly-detailed description of some perp, with his current location, and everything...?
Zilch, zip, NADA —he’ll actually get nothing. It’s all a huge scam, at least in California.
I don’t care if they swear on 100 Bibles that it’s 10 trillion billion macillian dollars —the Good Samaritan in California gets nothing.
Most rational people would call police if they saw him regardless of the reward which leaves the idiots who think he’s a hero.
It would be poetic if an armed citizen took him out though.
It really would.
He’s had plenty of time to plan this, and now get back to a low-profile crib, and begin covertly carrying-out his threats. The Beltway Shooter/Snipers’ comparison will be interesting, if he goes that route.
His murders were NOT committed in Lost Angeles. In Irvine and Riverside.
So Tony is just running his politically ambitious mouth, while LE works the case.
He could be holding some local resident inside their home, warm and with enough food to last awhile.
I think the broken axle disrupted his “plan” if he had much of a plan. He fled with what he could carry, leaving behind the cot etc.
I’ve listened to a couple of “special forces” types on the radio, and they said this perp has NT been trained in special operations, and is NOT a super rambo.
If he escapes from the immediate area, he still can NOT disguise his size.
The amount of support this killer is receiving and the comments of his supporter is very telling. There is now such a divide in America, that this country, so hopelessly diverse, will never again achieve a reasonable social consensus.
There have been no real leads since they found his burning truck. He may be in a snow bank some distance away and off’d himself. Maybe not found til spring.
I didn't see or hear the announcement, but the wording is that of someone who is worried. Kinda like the bully who issues a threat, but can't back it up.
Dorner is living in many people's mind rent free.
5.56mm
Case in point, see this shopkeeper and his friend from back during the LA Riots:
With all the fresh mtn snow they had at Black Bear, that’s definitely possible.
That’s what I was thinking. He may have already reached ambient outside temperature.
That is pretty reckless and irresponsible to put people in water looking for blood.
They should just do their damn job and leave regular fold out of their mess.
Agreed. He is dead.
Star Trek: “He’s dead Jim.”

Chief Beck wants Dorner dead, to avoid a coming circus trial and major embarrassment. This is going to get very ugly and bloody.
For a million dollars, suspect anyone with a cadaver dog will be searching those woods.
If $1M is offered today, it would make sense for his assistant to wait a week - it will be $10M then. Especially if Chris Dorner kills again. This money comes from the public treasury, so it's essentially free.
Someone who is more cynical than me might even say that LAPD already has Chris Dorner's body in the freezer, and the $1M offer is just an under the table transfer of public money to important people. But of course even a thought of corruption anywhere in LA would be laughable.
Thanks carriage_hill.
Now *there’s* something that’s hard to hide from.
He knows he’s a dead man. It’s in the sick f’s manifesto. Problem is, he doesn’t care. Knows this ain’t going to trial and he’s toast. But unfortunately, more people will probably die before he expires.
As far as where he’s at, he’s had 3 years to plan this. He’s probably in some bunker with his communications gear and weapons and a bunch of canned goods having an early dinner and getting ready to go to the Grammys. But then again, if he wants to continue to target specific individuals, he won’t go or he may use the probable massive LAPD deployment at the Grammy’s to go target someone somewhere else.
If he wants to go out in a blaze of media glory, he’ll do it tonight. Oscar is too far off.
Somebody better get this guy soon.
A million bucks is for his ego...trying to get him to move....
After California taxes, that’s what? 7 Bucks?
Who is really the bad guy here? This guy or the police who are shooting at unarmed women delivering newspapers in a truck entirely different than the one he was driving.
Yes Sir !
I guess we shall see. Thanks!
That’s a good bet !
Not even enough to buy Bondo for the bulletholes.
On a thread last night, someone made a good point. Considering the hair trigger lead flinging going on, if a person were to report a sighting, that person could well cause the death by cop of the wrong/innocent people.
I’d think long and hard about making that call.
Oh he absolutely does. But at the cost of what the cops are doing now? Shooting at the wrong vehicles with the wrong colored people of the wrong gender?
Nope. Not with anyone I care about in the area. If they can’t do their job right, and their behavior is rock solid proof they can’t, let the public do it for them and fewer people will die.
Not only do they need him Dead, even if someone tried to claim said reward, they would probably never collect. By the time the city pays the innocent victims that the Police tried to EXECUTE, and the fact that Los Angeles is already bankrupt, there is NO MONEY to give anyone. Not to mention we are talking about the most Dishonest People on the planet, remember the LAPD has been Willfully Violating Direct Court Orders for over 10 years, see NRA. The Entire City Council and the Mayor have been implicated Big Time in a Ticket Fixing Scandal that has been going on for 10 years or longer.
It tells me that they think he has someone helping him and a big payday might cause someone to roll over on the murdering animal.

That’s a pretty good one. Never thought of that. I always knew you were creative cc. There’s a lot of money in James Patterson type crime novels. Start one.:-)
It had better be for ALIVE (and able to speak) and zilch for dead. Maybe more innocent civilians won't end up dead by mistake.
Brilliant!
But it better be a Black armed citizen ...a white citizen would be faced with murder charges and killed by Djangos in the county jail!
size wouodn’t matter if he dressed as a very fat female.
Has anyone searched the caves of tora bora?
Sanity flew away some days ago.
