At least seven staffers who work for CBS News' "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" were arrested after allegedly entering a U.S. House of Representatives building, specifically the Longworth House Building, where they were not legally permitted to be, according to Fox News. They had been escorted out from January 6 select committee hearing because they did not have the proper press credentials, which is investigating the actions of people who were also not where they were legally allowed to be. Despite being escorted out, the seven people re-appeared that night after the Capitol complex was closed to the public....

WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. (FOX 2) - Police are crediting technology for helping them solve the case about a man who said he was stabbed in an anti-Semitic attack December 15. Sean Sammit said he was attacked as he left a synagogue that day in the Jewish community in West Bloomfield. But police say he made up the whole story - and that they found out thanks to the information on his Apple watch. (Please see link for full article)

Pelosi took a more pragmatic way of saying it, suggesting that they will wait until the end of the Mueller investigation. The far left base isn’t that patient. And the rabid anti-Trumpers in the Democratic Party want impeachment now. They need revenge for losing the 2016 election. Last night, freshman Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan said at a MoveOn reception that “they’re gonna impeach the mother******.” The only question is when.

A Connecticut woman with advanced breast cancer married the love of her life at a Connecticut hospital right before Christmas, then passed away 18 hours later. Heather Mosher was dressed in her wedding gown and lying in bed wearing an oxygen mask as she and David Mosher said "I do" Dec. 22 at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford. The 31-year-old died the next day.

Hi Freepers. Is there a way to "not see" posts that I'm not interested in. Such as "Pope" or "Cologne Sex". Half of the posts I'm not interested in and would like to disregard with a keyword. Just a thought like a news clipper. Thanks for your response. Swen

The White House scrambled Friday to explain newly released email excerpts that show a top State Department official pushing to water down the intelligence community's initial story-line on the Benghazi attack, as Republicans sharply challenged the administration's honesty. With new details emerging in the Benghazi-gate controversy, the White House held a background discussion with more than a dozen news organizations. Afterward, Press Secretary Jay Carney weathered a barrage of questions from the media during an at-times awkward White House briefing -- where he tried to defend the truthfulness of his and other officials' prior claims that the initial talking points...

Early voting is a new phenomenon that is has great implications on the final election outcome. Despite this, I don’t much enjoy blogging it. The numbers get updated sporadically, there is an inherent uncertainty in what the requests or submissions actually mean and the sample sizes are really small. This makes drawing conclusions not much better than just plain old guess work until a critical mass of votes have accumulated. And by that time someone else has already done a better job analyzing the data than I could so I just leave it to them. One of the only reasons...

We can’t rely on the media, even the alternative media. Free Republic is announcing a new initiative that gives you a platform. We want to leverage the most powerful minds on the right to make a difference. To do this, we want to bring a new level of activism, the citizen investigator. In the spirit of 1750’s The Pennsylvania Gazette published by Ben Franklin and of Andrew Breitbart. For the longest time, our primary focus has been on looking at what the media presents and investigating it or discussing it. We have been missing something, YOU! Jim has created a...

BOSTON – In an epic upset in liberal Massachusetts, Republican Scott Brown rode a wave of voter anger to defeat Democrat Martha Coakley in a U.S. Senate election Tuesday that left President Barack Obama's health care overhaul in doubt and marred the end of his first year in office. The loss by the once-favored Coakley for the seat that the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy held for nearly half a century signaled big political problems for the president's party this fall when House, Senate and gubernatorial candidates are on the ballot nationwide.

As rivals who consider Mike Huckabee soft on immigration ramp up their attacks, the former Arkansas governor acknowledged Thursday that his position on the issue may cost him votes. Huckabee for weeks now has been criticized for his 2005 support of state-sponsored scholarships for illegal immigrants. Legislation to provide the tuition aid failed in the Arkansas Senate. Huckabee admitted his stance is unpopular among a GOP voter base that has made immigration the No. 1 issue of the campaign. "If it costs me the election, it costs me the election," he told reporters at a luncheon on Capitol Hill. But...
