JUAREZ- Several hospitals in Juarez have installed armored doors to protect patients from bullets. Hospital officials say stray bullets often hit the buildings from daily shootings. The doors are also being used to stop gunmen from entering the hospitals and killing victims.

Berenice Juarez was found guilty Thursday afternoon of first-degree murder in the 2010 stabbing death of her mother's boyfriend in Delray Beach. The jury deliberated less than a day before coming back with its verdict. Juarez, 18, immediately was sentenced to life in prison by Circuit Judge Karen Miller.

JUAREZ, Mexico - According to Chihuahua State Police, about 40 inmates had a party inside Cereso Prison before Monday night's deadly riot. Police also said four underage women were brought into the jail for the party. Investigators recovered 729 bullets after the massacre, and are now interviewing about 400 inmates to find the gunmen. Police say there were six machine guns involved, but only one has been recovered and the other five are still missing. JUAREZ- More than a dozen inmates are dead from a riot at the Cereso prison in Juarez, several more are wounded. It happened overnight when rival gangs got into a fight. We're told one gang attack another gang in a holding cell. The fight included several gunshots. JUAREZ, MX - The Juarez police chief survived an assassination attempt. Gunmen drove up Julian Leyzaoloa's motorcade and opened fire. The chief's bodguards returned fire and shot one of the attackers. Leyzaola was not hurt. Police arrested two men. One of the men confessed that he is the son of a former Juarez police officer that was murdered in 2002.

Police discovered 1,994 detonator cartridges inside a pickup truck in this northern border metropolis, Mexico's federal Public Safety Office said Tuesday. Gunmen arrived in three vehicles CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico -- Police say gunmen burst into a bar in the Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez and opened fire, killing eight people. Chihuahua state prosecutors' spokesman Arturo Sandoval says assailants traveling in three cars arrived at the bar called El Castillo late Thursday and opened fire. EL PASO, Texas -- A car lot in Juarez. That's where 15-year-olds Carlos Mario Gonzalez Bermudez and Juan Echeveeri Luna, both students in El Paso, were killed by gunmen there Saturday.
